Wow — never seen restaurant staff who care less about quality or service.

The whole interaction went that way.
At the register, another customer came back to complain and our transaction was preempted until that person’s complaint was dealt with. Then the person at the register asked what we had ordered even though the only thing the prep person had done right was write everything on the wrappers.
She didn’t attempt to roll up the tortilla for my taco so I was left to scrape the contents off the foil wrapper with chips.
Made me wonder if the food was even safe to eat.

I went to this place one time with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the spicy chicken bowl with the works on it and it was great. I ate myself into a food coma.
The huge negative part was my experience at Moes. The manager, or shift manager, was a mid 20s lady and she appeared upset the entire time. At one point she denied someone a break because she said she didn’t feel like giving the employee one and that everyone was «pissing her off today.» Of course, she held a pack of cigarettes the whole time in her hand. At some point she ran out of the restaurant through the back doors and said she needed a smoke. Awwkkkkward.
I get it, tensions run high during the work force, but she did it in front of everybody. I think all of the customers were a bit quiet after that outburst because it was so awkward.
Was the food good? Yes.
Would I come back? God no, unless I want to eat in silence.

We have been to this Moes many times, we’ve never seen this restaurant so dirty. Lots of staff sitting around doing nothing. If it is like this again, we won’t be back

This place is dirty. It looks as though no one cleans at all throughout the day. Food all over the floors and in the seats, food all over the counter where they make your food. There is no structure in this location… it is all young kids who do whatever they want. They pay no attention to the customers and all hang out and talk to eachother the whole time. Yesterday I was there and they were whipping eachother with towels behind the counter! I will not go back here.

I have always had good service a this location. Food is just what you would expect from any other location. I prefer chipotle as the food seems a bit fresher and less greasy.

Ok their food is good .i think pricier than chipotle… i havent been in a while but shortly after opening the employees would chant «welcome to moes» each time the door opened… a little annoying after a while but better than the sour or indifferent service at chipoltes in newington. One thing that really grates on my nerves is the silly names on the menu items… i just want to order a taco. not a joeys bag of donuts or whatever… please take down the stupid menu board and just list the prices for tacos, quesidillas and burritos… everyone i know feels ridiculous having to order using these crazy names for their food selections.

This was really good! First time I’ve ever eaten at Moe’s. I had the Homewrecker had tons of fresh lettuce etc. The main thing was the pieces of REAL steak! Really a nice surprise! Delicious. The guy behind the counter was good also, he was busy but walked around asking everyone how their meal was. I never witnessed that at a fast food place.
This is really a higher end type fast food, kinda of healthy if you order the right way.
Free refills on chips too! The salsa was tasty also!

I’ve been back a few times since my first review and I’m happy to report all the kinks have been worked out. Service is great and food is on par with other Moe’s locations. El Guapo salsa FTW!

BY FAR the worst Moe’s location I’ve ever been to. I’m a huge fan of Moe’s, but this location is getting a letter sent to corporate by yours truly. THE WORST. Try the Moe’s in another location, instead. See reviews below.

I’m not impressed and Moe’s seems like it so desperately wants to be memorable and impressive. Their menu is a mishmash of stupid names culled from TV and Movies which tell you nothing about the actual products. Most items seem to have three categories and as far as I can tell, the real breakdown is with guacamole, without guacamole, and vegetarian.
The food itself just wasn’t very good. I ordered a steak burrito without guacamole (i have no idea what their name for it is). And while they have a fair selection of toppings, I opted for only a minimum (rice, onions, cilantro, and raw jalapenos) because the workstation was a mess, with many items spilled into the containers of others. When I got my burrito, the steak was cold — colder than room temperature cold — and flavorless. If not for the onions and jalapenos, it would have been like eating a lumpy raw tortilla. Their chips are alright, but not great. They do have a queso dip for the chips — which tastes like white velveeta and american cheese with an occasional pepper flake tossed in – which was, a least, more flavorful than the burrito.
There are a couple upsides though. The parking is great and they have a damn cool soda machine.
Ultimately, I really do not see any reason to come here, unless you are already in the lot seeing a movie (and the much better Wood-​N-​Tap, Chinese Food, Pizza, Bagel, and Froyo places aren’t to your liking). Moe’s isn’t half as good as a Chipotle, and cannot even compare to the other (and now numerous) taquerias in the area.
And for just under $ 10 for a burrito, I almost think I’d prefer Taco Bell.

I like Moe’s, but no this location in Wallingford. They’re understaffed and the place is disgustingly dirty. The food they serve looks like its been sitting out for too long because its all dried out in the warmers. Last time we went the garbage cans were overflowing, tables and the floor was dirty. The bathroom was just nasty. Will not be returning to this location again.
