I’ve only been once for breakfast(years ago) and recently for dinner. Food was good, service was mediocre and it’s rather expensive for a diner in my opinion. I have a friend who refuses to ever go back because she said they charge $ 5 for a single egg. I swore she was crazy, but she was right. $ 5 for ONE egg?! That’s insanity! I don’t plan on going back in the future.

We like this diner they have good food and good service. Are only complaint is that the kids menu is extremely expensive. If you’re going for a bite to eat this is a nice place however, if you’re bringing kids go elsewhere.

Pass. Basic diner for basic people. Typical unhappy diner waitress. Challah french toast was OK. Waffle tasted great but I ordered a pecan waffle and they charge $ 2 more to throw plain pecans on top of the waffle what a joke. Over $ 2 for a cup of hot water and a tea bag? This place only can compete with Ricks because its open later. Dont plan on coming back.

It’s your run of the mill American diner. The menu is huge, and they’ll get you in and out in 20 minutes. I’ve only had breakfast here, which has been decent every time. Sometimes the home fries are soggy, which is a sin to me! Eggs Benny, sandwiches, and corned beef omelet are my go to’s! Coffee is usually pretty good, and friendly service. I will be back to try lunch or dinner, and update my review.

This is a solid diner, and especially loved by me because they have gluten free bread. I’ve only eaten breakfast here once, but I intend to go back often. I took one star off because my bread was hardly toasted, but I’m sure if I sent it back it would have been perfect.

The BEST diner in the area. Clean, spacious, great service and tasty food. Portions are great. Good selection. Crayons and mats for kids, tvs for adults. Nice dessert selection, clean bathrooms, ample parking, comfy seating. Process reasonable for great sized portions. Overall a real diner.

I wanted some prime rib and there are good restaurants near me but not featuring prime rib. A friend recommended Colony Diner so today I went. I got salad, mashed potato, broccoli; and prime rib, rare. Also wine. The salad was good with crispy lettuce, tomato, onion and pepper. I got blue cheese dressing and it had actual chunks of blue cheese. Also they served rolls, nice and fresh with whipped butter. The mashed were with gravy and HOT! I was surprised as usually mashed are tepid but these were nice and hot. The best was the prime rib, nicely done rare as I love it. It was as good as any I’ve ever had. There was plenty and I finished it for supper. Some say they are pricey but you get what you pay for. I consider my meal worth the price.

Love the food. Always come here in need of some quick food. Their omelette are really good. Also their ny city raps can’t be beat.

Not sure why this diner only has 3 stars? It’s the best diner in Wallingford BYFAR, and as residents we’ve tried all of them multiple times. We always end up going back to the Colony Diner and it’s consistently great. They have a large menu with lots of choices. I can’t think of a single bad thing to say so 5STARS!

Our kitchen at home is being renovated so we’ve eaten here several times a week for the past month. I’ve had just about everything on their«early bird» menu and have no complaints. The early bird specials actually end at 6:30PM, which is pretty late for an early bird special. Dinners include soup or salad(and it’s a really good salad, not a side salad) and dinner rolls. Eating out anywhere isn’t cheap, but the prices are pretty reasonable for what’s included.

Went to the Colony for a morning business meeting. Basically had the standard eggs, toast, and ham breakfast platter, nice portions. Excellent service, the staff was very nice and made sure you were a happy customer. Great place, I would recommend it for breakfast. The menu looks good for lunch and dinner as well.

Great breakfast and the staff is very friendly but service could be faster. I definetly recommend this place over other breakfast places in Wallingford

This meal should have came with an apology. I sat down with a friend at a table near the bathrooms(gross), and it took a waitress 15 minutes before menus were even given to us. Another 20 minutes go by and she quickly takes our order. Another 20 – 30 minutes go by and we finally get our food and before we could say that we had no silverware she rushed off. Long story short the silverware I was given was caked in old food, our drinks were never filled, and the food wasn’t good. Never ever going back.

I came here today for lunch and ordered the chicken pot pie with a salad. The pie was very good and looked and tasted homemade. The salad was what I would expect except for the chick peas in it which I could have done without. Its a good diner and I will return here again.

We usually hit this diner up when we are feeling like having some quick, easy«diner food». I hate the French fries. I love the French Onion soup(great!) and the sandwiches are pretty decent size wise for the price. They have specials that you can get with a soup or sal, and comes with 2 sides and a desert. Those usually never appeal to me, but my fiancé sometimes orders off of that menu. Overall decent — hey it is a diner! lol

Great place for diner food. The place is clean, the service is adequate, staff are friendly, food is pretty good. Had a burger and fries. Burger was definitely a frozen patty but it was alright. The fries were great. Coleslaw was yummy. Would go back and try to order something a little more exotic next time.

I’ve been to Colony Diner a few times, and ordered different breakfasts each time. I’m a big fan because they actually have sausage gravy and biscuits, which is a rarity in a Connecticut diner! Service is fast and friendly, and the wait is rarely longer than 10 minutes even on a busy weekend morning.

Ahh, Colony Diner, the epitome of mediocrity. I’ve came here many a time after a long night of drinking and partying and crying myself to sleep. Today I got eggs benedict with corned beef hash, the hollandaise sauce was obviously not home made and they smothered it over EVERYTHING and the corned beef hash(canned) was squishy and looked like dog food. What else can you expect from the most mediocre Diner on earth. By the way, when I got home I threw up my whole breakfast. Worth it.

The food is really really good. Everything is freshly made. They have two new salads on the menu. One is chicken with pomegranate dressing and the second one is salmon with vinaigrette dressing. Both are delicious. The owner, Eric and Everyone who works there are extremely nice. This is a great place to eat
