Props to this Salvation Army for providing me with 2 pairs of gorgeous mint condition winter boots and decent $ 0.20 books– even though you have to dig through a few shelves of self-help books from the 80s and multiple Lee Iacocca biographies. If you have a couple hours to spare, this is an awesome thrift store as far as those go. Decent selection of clothes and once In a while you can find home or kitchen gems. However– one of the women who works here is rude as hell and always looks angry. Even though people are already *in* the dressing rooms at 9:30, which I guess is closing time, she walks around banging the doors yelling«CLOSED! CLOSED.» Learn some customer service skills please.

This is an update to my previous review. OK, so the prices are still a little high for a thrift store, but they HAVE gotten somewhat more reasonable, and managers are willing to work with you if you ask for a discount for damages. Here’s why I knocked them down to 2 stars: I had read other reviews where shoppers were accusing the stores of intentionally withholding advertised sale merchandise from the floor. However, many of these reviews were so filled with vitriol and ranting that I found it hard to take the allegations seriously. Then I went in one day, on a routine shopping trip. Tan was the color of the week; items with tan tags were 50% off and tan-tagged clothes were 5 for $ 5. I witnessed an employee filling up a rolling rack with clothes from the sales floor, and she was explaining to another employee that she was pulling tan tagged items off the floor, and instructed the girl not to bring out any tan merchandise from the back room. This bait-and-switch tactic is shady in ANY business. In one that purports to serve the community and uphold good Christian values, it is inexcusable.

This is one of the most expensive thrift stores I’ve been to here in Michigan. Value world in Westland is just as big if not bigger and the prices are more reasonable

Excellent«stuff»… Some of the prices are laughably high such as a beat-up worn out hope chest that they wanted over $ 100 for. It was just a piece of junk. Maybe it could have been refurbished. But other than that I’ve found excellent deals on housewares. I bought a coffee maker with a grinder for $ 29 and a perfectly sufficient microwave for about $ 20. I also found a pitcher for my phalzgraf pattern for 4 bucks. I bought towels for 3.99 that are nice and plush. I go here before I pay retail.

This is by far the most epic thrift store in town. Recently moved, this SA is bigger, better, and still full of wonder. Great clothing selection, nooks and crannies up the wahzoo! I just got a whole new wardrobe for under $ 20, mind you, a new wardrobe for me is like 6 items… cuz’ I’m hip like that.
