Quiet and peaceful. This is a wonderful place to come and just enjoy. We hope to make it a yearly event. The grounds are beautiful and our accommodations were just perfect. We stayed in the bunkhouse. It reminded me of my grandma’s house in Pennsylvania. Decorated so warmly. Our breakfast served in their beautiful dining area was wonderful. The views are just amazing.

We just returned from one night at the inn and it was terrific! I should say that we got the Locust Suite for free, as the inn participated in celebrating veterans day by offering service members a free room. However, our review would be the same even if we’d paid full price for the suite. Anyway, everything was perfect — in fact one of the other guests, also there on the special, said«I really need to quit saying it’s perfect because I sound like a broken record. .. but it’s perfect!» Our suite, on one side of the tasting room, was very roomy. It had a nice sized living area, a cute little kitchen and then a nice bedroom and attached bath. It was very cozy and comfortable — plenty of options for controlling the heat and a/c, as well as lighting. Ample seating, a large tv(which we didn’t use) and a dock for the ipod. We made tea and coffee in the little kitchen and it looked to be amply stocked with anything you might need. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were remarkable. We both slept very well. The hosting is great. When we checked in we were each given a nice glass of very good wine. The breakfast was excellent — baked egg, pumpkin waffles with apple cider syrup and bacon, with fresh squeezed orange juice. We had a wine tasting around 10:30 in the morning, and enjoyed the pours. The property is beautiful(our suite had a great view) and it’s obvious that they take great care of everything. It seemed that no detail was too small to be overlooked. This ended up being a great getaway and everyone could not have been nicer to us. I hope we go back sometime when the weather is a little more inviting to spend some time outside. Fabulous place(and some pretty tasty wine)!

My significant other and I are at that in-between stage where we’ve outgrown our old haunts with the early-20s vibe but we are way too young to enjoy over-decorated«luxury» hotels. We still enjoy short escapes to San Francisco or Palm Springs, but sometimes we just want some quiet time. We’re also in an in-between place financially — we are way past our hosteling days but not quite willing to spend a month’s salary on a weekend getaway. Abeja was the perfect place for us. We stayed in the Bunkhouse for two nights in June and can’t wait to go back next year. We both agreed it was the best trip we’ve taken(and we’ve travelled around the world!) Since we had never been, I tortured myself over which guest house to pick — I shouldn’t have. They all looked lovely and had their own unique charm. The Bunkhouse was cute, lovingly decorated(but not overly so), and extremely cozy for two. We spent quite a bit of time on the private back patio watching the sun set past the vines. They were also kind enough to cater to his vegan diet and went above and beyond with vegan breakfasts that were easily as delicious and creative as their normal fare. We hope to see you next year!

My husband and I traveled with another couple and stayed in the Carriage House Suite. It was absolutely perfect. Cozy, comfortable beds(I am buying a set of the sheets they were so comfortable) and decorated very upscale cottage. Thick towels, the best of toiletries, etc. The Innkeeper, Mary, was a true delight. Breakfast each morning was a treat — Huevos rancheros, lemon pancakes, with options of steel cut oatmeal with fresh raspberries, fresh squeezed orange juice and plenty of good coffee. The grounds are beautiful. The wine was really great too — although we were a little early in the season to try very many vintages.

Over due review for the Inn at Abeja(aka Abeja Inn) as we’ve stayed there twice — the first time in The Bunkhouse and the second time in The Chicken Coop. And when a Unilocal friend posted a photo of her cool new real chicken coop today, it made me remember I’ve been meaning to do a quick review for this Inn… since we stayed in the Chicken Coop the last time. How’s that for associative memory? One of our stays(two nights each time) was in summer and one right about the time of harvest. Each time was delightful. Abeja is a working winery, and they produce top notch wine, so it is a particular treat to stay at the Inn which is really five different buildings on the grounds of what was once an old farm and now a winery. In addition to the Bunkhouse, a bit away from the other units(the least expensive at $ 200 and up per night) and the Chicken Coop, which backs to a creek with lovely privacy in the rear,($ 240 and up)) there is also the Carriage House Suite($ 450 and up), the Summer Kitchen($ 265 and up), and the Locust($ 265 and up), which like the Chicken Coop backs to the creek.. A neat element for the Bunkhouse, was that it had a hammock in the back yard, for napping after Walla Walla winery visits and a front porch for morning coffee sipping. Bathrooms are«cozy» — meaning smaller sized. The Bunkhouse bath is shower over clawfoot tub. Chicken Coop and Locust both have showers, not tubs. A neat element for the Bunkhouse, was that it had a hammock in the back yard, for napping after Wall Walla winery visits and a front porch for morning coffee sipping. Even at these robust prices, it us typically tough to get reservations there. Maybe that’s because not only are the guest set ups charming(and each has full kitchen in addition to bedroom, bath and living rooms), but the grounds are open to wander for more great experience and the full breakfast served in the beautiful main(barn?) building is pretty special too. The Innkeeper had changed between visit one and visit two, but each time we enjoyed great service. We probably won’t stay here again… the first time was on us and the second two night stay was a gift from good friends(who specifically requested the Coop for us knowing our affection for roosters and chickens.). But it is definitely worth the effort to make a reservation and if you’re visiting Walla Walla for a couple of days, you really should treat yourself to the Inn at Abeja at least once. One last tip… even guests of the Inn must have an appointment for wine tasting if you want to do that at the Abeja winery. Or at least that was our experience on both visits. So remember to make those reservations too!

Stayed here for a Whitman College graduation. Grounds were beautiful and breakfast was delicious. Carriage houses were very well appointed but small guest house had a cat pee odor issue that despite multiple emails to the inn keeper was never addressed. Carriage house — 5 stars Small guest house — 0 stars Service — 1 star Would stay there again in one of the carriage houses because they were so nice — would never stay in the small guest house.

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. We stayed here last October for a Whitman reunion. We stayed in the Locust Suite and our friends stayed in one portion of the Carriage House Suite. Each suite is individually decorated with beautiful, cozy furniture. The beds and pillows are lovely. A small touch, but the honey soap is just fabulous … The innkeeper was very nice and appropriately absent. The breakfasts were delicous. We enjoyed the wine tasting. We were fortunate enough to be there during last year’s crush. The winemaker was very accomodating in answering my numerous questions! You do have to plan ahead as they open reservations on October 1st of each year and they fill up quickly. However, it’s absolutely worth the planning and the price.
