The head waitress has people skills. NOT!!! #saltybitch #weleft when we walked in the first thing she asked was how many, we said seven. Then she said we don’t have any room for you. Not«can u wait? It will be 10 min». Nothing

This is the place to go in Waldport if you want to hang with the super nice locals and have a GREAT meal. OMG, we had the eggs Benedict — my bestie had the classic and I had ½ portion of the Crab Benedict. We were both beyond thrilled. I can’t speak for her’s but mine was as if I’d died and went to heaven. I wanted to prolong every bite… Well worth the decadent splurge. I will just exercise more later LOL. And everything there looks awesome. Right on the bay.

Not much to look at but highly recommend. We both had the clam chowder and it was wonderful. I had broasted chicken and husband had the fish & chips. We both enjoyed both. They had several brews on tap I had an IPA. Service was great.

We ordered the fish and chips, broasted chicken dinner, and kids burger and they all were great! The broasted chicken was the star of the night it was the best chicken I’ve ever had! honest to god. The portions were very generous as well I couldn’t finish mine. Prices are reasonable and our service was spectacular our server even gave my daughter a free chocolate pudding for finishing all of her dinner. The atmosphere is casual and the view is nice. The tame are all different and custom made, unique, interesting and fun. The menu is more than a few pages

My friends and I ordered takeout here tonight. I got a mushroom Swiss Burger and they got the double cheeseburger. They tasted OK but the buns were soggy on the bottom side. I wished that my mushrooms would’ve been sautéed in butter to make them more flavorful. The Swiss cheese was good. My friends said their burgers were also just mediocre. Quantity but not necessarily quality. The fries would’ve been good had we eaten them there but they were cold and soggy within about five minutes of leaving. All in all the food wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. I did like the waitress who was helping us with our order. She was really funny and helpful as we navigated the menu.

Just awesome!!! We have been all over Oregon, best chowder yet… I paid to have real crab added, and amazing! Lorelei was our waitress… kept us laughing and smiling the whole time.

Decent food, reasonable prices, service can be quick when there are not too many customers but when the place is more than half full be prepared for a bit of a wait. Frequently it looks like they are swamped and need another server. If you expect a dining experience this may not be the place for you. They offer some good specials, and when the halibut is fresh you should give that a try. If you want some basic chow then The Salty Dawg is a good choice.

We decided to eat at the salty dawg this afternoon on the suggestion of our brother in law. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, my husband ordered the fish and chips. The burger was delicious and my husband said the fish and chips were also very good. The meals came with fresh french fries, not the frozen kind. The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect at a small town crabbing dock. The waitress had a nice enough personality, a little rough around the edges but that fits in with the atmosphere. The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely go back and try the breakfast which I hear is outstanding.

My husband and I had lunch here. I had the fish & chips, which were excellent. The fish was lightly breaded. Loved it! My husband had the Clam chowder in a bread bowl. He liked it a lot! We will go back. Service was also very good.

We haven’t been to Waldport in 3 years but had to go back to the Salty Dawg and it did not disappoint! The broasted chicken is still as delicious as the first time we visited, the halibut fish and chips was fresh and perfectly cooked and the mexican food is large and in charge. In our group of 9 including 2 kids and 3 teens not one person was disappointed and we had AMAZING service. Top notch and will remain our favorite Waldport spot.

Definitely a local dive bar and grill. Be ready to hear some interesting«locals» conversation. Everyone was real friendly. The Italian burger was delicious. The wife had the seafood basket. Don’t expect some gourmet meal. It is what it is. Food and beer.

Local pub where pretty laid back people are working, except for the bartender/server who likes to be pushy expecting you to know what you want to eat 30 secs after receiving a menu. Cook has his shirt unbuttoned to mid chest with no shirt on underneath. Food looked like something a 4 year old made outside. Fries were burnt and cold not sure how you pull that one off but kudos to you. I ordered the fish and chips. Batter was disgusting and fish them selfs were barley warm. For $ 11.75 the portion was sad and the quality was worse! So bad in fact my wife didn’t even touch her food!

Not a bad place for what it is; local pub with decent food. The locals hang here and even one of their patrons provided us menus after we sat down, since the only server was busy in the back(smoking). Service is slow, television screens everywhere, food is okay — view over the bay is nice.

I have visited a couple times. This is a local bar with a small dining area. Service is ok depending on how buys they are. Food is just Ok nothing great and prices are reasonable. They do have daily specials, and clean atmosphere. I can recommend this restaurant as long as you understand this is nothing fancy or gourmet.

This is an updated review. Last time I gave it four stars. I’ve had the seafood chowder bowl here several times, and normally really loved it. This last time, it wasn’t so good. Maybe it’s just that normally we get there later and I’m really starving, or maybe it’s that this time the chowder had some massive chunks of artificial crab at the bottom. That kind of ruined it for me. If they laid off the artificial crab and stuck with more clams and shrimp, I think I would have liked it better. Or just use real crab and charge me for it. I don’t care. My wife had the Dungeness crab chowder this time and really liked it. So just use real crab, or leave it out, please. Salty Dawg has always been on a list of must go to places at the coast for me, but after this last taste of their seafood chowder bowl, I’m not so sure about that now. Bummer.
