Kohl’s is the new Sears before their decline. They seem to be leaning toward becoming the new JC Penny’s, however, with an array of convulted discount schemes. Shoppers don’t like hard to understand discount programs as JC Penny’s found out the hard way. JCP still in a recovering mode. So we use to get all this snail mail from Kohl’s to rub off and discover your discount every other week. Is that still a thing? Now there is Yes2You. It’s some kind of a discount point system you sign up for. I’m in the store today and the cashier ask if I have this other card that is not my Kohl’s charge card which I figure is all-in-one. No she says there is another darn card to carry for this Yes2You program. I give her my phone# and my Yes2You account shows. I’m happy. She’s happy. She gives me one of those $ 10 cash back card that’s valid in a few days. Another item for the shopper to keep up with. Except now you can download a Kohl’s App and put the Cash back on the App. If I explained this all right it is a miracle because it’s very fuzzy. I bet the only 2 people who understand how this works are the 2 folks who designed it. I wonder how many flow charts it takes to explain how the discounts programs works. Now doesn’t this sound like a JC Penny’s creation.(Not a compliment.)They’ve made the discount programs to zany. Consumers will stop shopping here because you’re not sure of getting all the discounts available. Wake up Kohl’s! Do not go down the same road JC Penny’s went down. Streamline this stuff. We are not going to spend more than 5 minutes, if that, figuring out this stuff. Now, I have to go look for a darn lost card, get an App or both. Geez! My rant for the month! Excuse me readers. If you understand what’s going on you shop at Kohl’s more than I do or care more.
