We stayed here as we were visiting family, and had a wonderful time. Dave was a fantastic host and made us feel so welcome. We stayed in the Pear room very clean and comfortable. Even has a food truck outside, during the summer. Dave was so nice to make a dish especially for me since I’m a vegetarian. Had a really nice time. Thanks Dave for making us feel at home.

Exterior: is scary looking because it’ll be going under renovation. Dave said the place is 200 years old. It’s hard to open the front doors and the paint is definitely coming off. breakfast: it was bagel, small burger looking thing and eggs and OJ. Not gourmet but happy to get breakfast for the price. He will bring it to your room when you ask him to the night before. Breakfast in bed’s kind of nice. Dave: operated the b+b isn’t the friendliest person in the world but he’ll let you be and give you privacy and not bother you at all. The place is clean and cozy for the price I can’t complain. Free Internet: although I was able to connect to it once. It soon disappeared. I asked Dave about it in the shop, he was looking at football info on his computer and said he just got Internet back himself and he would restart the router in the main house too. But once I got back to b+b after dinner there still wasn’t connection and neither was it back on in the morning. Noise level: there are cars zooming past at like 60 mph where the b+b is located. So there is a lot of street noise. Although there weren’t many cars zooming past at night, during the day and am you can hear it. It wasn’t enough to wake me up but for sensitive sleepers it might. Also Pear room was on second floor, there’s no b+b room on 3rd floor but there is a permanent resident that lives there. Although Pear room is carpeted, I don’t think 3rd floor isn’t so I heard foot steps and maybe a kid playing??? Again not loud enough to wake me up but probably the walls are thin. Pear room: I asked for more private quieter room and Dave suggested Pear room. Because it’s just been renovated so it’s all new. Also apparently there are no other b+b rooms on the 2nd floor other then closets(although there were 4 other doors I was curious if they were all really closets) so he said no one will come up to the second floor other then us. I think it was fairly private and quiet. The room is small and cozy. It was cutely decorated with pear ornaments, objects and crocheted pears, pear rugs, fake pear tree and pear paintings everywhere. Bed was a full size bed but it was comfortable and the pillows and comforter was the softest thing ever. Coffee maker for those with caffeine addictions. Small table to eat breakfast, tv, ac unit and ceiling fan. Shower only in the Pear room. It was really clean and comfortable room to stay in. There was no reception up there and of course no phones in the room so even though the Internet still wasn’t back up I couldn’t communicate with Dave. But I came here to relax so I didn’t bother checking again. Check in, check out: you can check in after 2pm. Go to the shop and Dave will show you to your room. For check out it’s easy you just need to leave your key in the room and take off. I think check out time is 11. The price of the room was a steal at $ 75. I’m really happy I came to enjoy time upstate. It was during the fall foliage so the backyard to the store was really pretty. There’s also a store with little knickknacks and trinkets and hand made crochet items.
