Nonno’s Pizza

I tried this place at the recommendation of my coworker and a coupon for grub hub. I ordered the salmon salad off of the menu which was supposed to come with falafel, tabouli, etc. what I got was iceburg lettuce, salmon, tomatoes, green pepper, and red onion. Not what I had ordered at all and definitely not worth $ 15. With only 1 hour for lunch it was too late for me to re-​order. I will not be ordering from here again.

The Greek salad was delishous
The pizza was ok
It was heavy on the cheese
It was ready quickly and I would get salads again from there

Haven’t had anything here yet they really stands out. Food was just meh. My friend ordered a cheeseburger sub, medium rare. It was literally three patties that were dry AF and put in a sub roll. They didn’t put anything else on the sub! They even forgot the cheese. I ordered the steak bomb sub and it was okay. I feel like I’ve had better food all in all.

In a strange turn of events, they accidentally gave me chicken wings instead of chicken fingers. While they did refund my money, they sent the delivery guy back to get the collect the unwanted chicken wings. Hopefully they don’t give them to somebody else. Based on this, I do not think I will order from here ever again since my food may have been reused.

Ok. Very heavy on the cheese. Not bad on flavor but thicker than what I expect pizza should be.

This is the PLACE for pizza, subs, and wraps in downtown Wakefield. Friendly service, and plenty of room to sit. Fast delivery too. Nonnos is boss.

There’s a lot that I must say about this pizza place. At first glance from the outside you might say, «Oh, it looks a bit too sketchy.» When you get inside it doesn’t exactly look up to par. There’s no AC, and the place looks like it hasn’t been renovated or changed since the late 80’s or early 90’s. I will say that the cashier prefers cash over credit or debit and I’ll give you some advice: ask if you can pay in credit/​debit BEFORE you order (I’ve been given «the talk» about cards by the cashier before). I ordered a slice of cheese and at first I was saying to myself that it doesn’t look that great. When I bit into it however, my mouth just exploded. There was a good amount of cheese, and they don’t put a ton of tomato sauce like at a major pizza chain. The crust it nice and crunchy and the bottom bread layer was thin and crispy. I would recommend coming here for a quick bite to eat.

Lol… learn, grasshopper. I went to this place because showed up in Ggogle Maps and Google reviews were possitive. I should have Unilocaled it. It is a poor place. Very run down. I should have gone with my first reaction when I saw the place, but trying not to judge a book by its cover, I still went ahead and ordered a pizza. The owner/​attendant was not very helpful. The typical profile of a burned down, cranky, struggling owner. I have to say the pizza dough was surprisingly good, but eveything else in the pizza was flavorless, if not worse. Somehow, when I paid for the pizza I over-​tipped. Not sure why; I guess I felt for the sense of despair that transpires in the place.

If you are a high, jaded, slightly goth townie wakefield teenager this is probably your hang out spot, so no offense, but the place sucks. Just your very average stale French fry, pizza, sub joint. Not special but not disgusting either. Maybe if I was having my kitchen remodeled for months then I’d go to Nonnos again.

Yet another Greek-​American Pizza/​Sub shop. Largely unremarkable.

Let me start with writing this… I places an order through grubhub becauseI was sick at home and couldn’t go out or make myself food. I got some nasty food and contacted grubhub. They said that the restaurant said I can have the money back if I bring the food back. Obviously I was sick and couldn’t do so, aftermath of this is i lost 20 something dollars and I was sick and hungry. Now what would they do with my food, throw it away. If I would have gotten a refund I would have loved to give them another chance because I live not far away and from what I read the pizza is not bad and I would sure appreciate the costumer service. But this is defiantly loss of business from me and my family. To describe what I got. I got dry old looking steak tips with a couple of fries that were not so good as well. It looked like someones left over dinner from few days ago. The steak was dry, nasty seasoned and probably I could chew the bottom of my shoe and be more successful .HUGE disappointment. Also got quesadilla with the same strange seasoning dripping in oil. Now of course you can say that I am looking for money back and I should have asked for another item. But to be fair I have tried the food and has a nasty after taste in my mouth and I was sick and couldn’t possible get out of bed thats why I requested a delivery. I will be attaching a picture of steak with the fries and non existing cold slaw witch by the way I was suppose to get, thanks. And by the way I waited almost a week to write this to be fair and not on emotions but I am still grossed out by those steak tips. To sum this up, poor food quality, poor costumer service.

Definitely better than other pizza joints in the area… better than the ones in Melrose having grown up there. Staff is friendly and prompt. The pizza crust is delicious! Pizza is not greasy… hallelujah! They are generous with the toppings too. Highly recommend Nonno’s.

I got the chicken parm recently, and I was not impressed… Meh.

Just tried this place after messing around on GrubHub. I always drive by Nonno’s but had never ordered from there. Ordered online, and the wait was reasonable considering it was lunch time on a Patriots game day.
Got a calzone that was great, mozzarella sticks and some wings. I enjoyed everything. If you are looking for a decent priced pizza place without wanting chain pizza, this is a good place to try out. If you’re looking to dabble in something that’s probably not their specialty… I’d go elsewhere.
They do put the marinara sauce in with the sticks, but should probably wrap it in foil to avoid spillage.

Always fast service. Sicilian pizza is super awesome, love the crust, and the price is very reasonable. Their falafel wrap is also a solid choice if you want something lighter.

Ordered delivery, very reasonable wait. Pepperoni pizza was pretty generous with the topping, good overall. Everything was good size/​quality for the price. Not a knockout but good overall, no complaints. Value for the money.

Cheese Pizza is very good what ever seasoning they put on cheese makes there pizza stand out in Flavor. And cant beat 10.70 for large cheese pizza… Free Delivery …

Got delivery, 20 mins late! Bad start.
Chicken broccoli calzone was burnt and not enough flavor.
Double cheeseburger dinner tastes awesome but I was never asked what I wanted on it so I assumed that there was some sort of regular toppings. NOPE. A little over ten fries and 10 onion rings. Portions sucked.
Menu is going in the trash.

Everything looked much better than it tasted.
Contrary to Linda C.‘s review, I found crust to be fairly thick and pizza could have used a few more minutes in the oven. Unfortunately it was also pretty bland, not even sure that there was garlic on the Bausheto pizza that I ordered.
Caesar salad also less than satisfying (and on the small-​ish side for $ 5.75). Croutons are spiced with something akin to Old Bay seasoning.
Wish I could write a more positive review because last time I ordered pasta from here it was alright and the guy who took my phone order was super nice and accommodating. I’m bummed because I just dropped $ 20 on a pizza & salad (+ delivery charge + tax + tip) and I’m stuck at work until 7pm with nothing else to eat.
Having written all that, I still want to like this place and will try it once more because of their excellent customer service.

Counter worker DID NOT have clean hands: he went from handling my pizza with gloves, to handling my money at the cash register with the same gloves, then he went back to handling food with gloves that had just touched money! Don’t go there unless you want to get sick!
Oh, and the pizza was utterly unremarkable, soggy and flavorless. Gross.
