Thank goodness! Don’t know why it took so long for this place to close.

My wife and I stopped for an early dinner today just for a beer and burger with fries and chowder. We have been to fat bellies many times and enjoyed the meals except never get the calamari! Today, we were the only people there so we were waited on fast by a nice waitress but after ordering noticed that it was taking quite a long time for the order. When the chowder came it was lumpy like tiny pieces of flour– lumpy and tasted cheesy. The burger came next but the avocado slices were old and grey, the bun was cold and no fries. I expected a nice toasted buttered bun with hot fries for $ 12.00 but not that. When asked about the fries, the waitresses said it does not come with fries, we showed her the menu. The fries were indeed on the menu. She did replace the really, really old avocado slices and brought out some nice hot fries but it was too late. Never go there again.

The manager should be fired. $ 5.00 burger and beer was terrible. Beer sat in pitchers because the draft was not working right so they served warm sub par beer. We were invisible. Never again. Treat your customers better.

Had lunch here today with my hubby after a COLD walk at Salty Brine Beach. I had the lemon tini and he had the Irish Root Beer Float. Both were awesome. The calamari/sweet peppers were spot on as previously mentioned. The caprese paninni and pulled pork sandwich rounded out our meal. Been here before and will definitely return. The waitress was the only one serving and mixing the drinks and she was spot on…

They have free food at half-time during Sunday football games and $ 5 burgers and beers on Thursday. Literally the only two reasons I would go here. Their food is ok. The bar is good. It’s great for watching a game, but not so much for other dining. I’ve read a lot of reviews on this place that the food is bad, but, I have to say, it’s actually pretty good for a pub/corner bar.

The concept is good. It has a nice old feel to it. The bar looks great and the service was good also. The food… not so much. Its ok, not good. I am sure there are better options in the area.

Pub’s are typical hard to stand over from the others in the crowd but one dish earned it here, the Calamari with banana peppers are so good. I don’t even think there was a sauce to dip in, you wouldn’t need it, delicious as is. The other thing that I liked were the Truffle Oil French Fry options which was only a small up charge to our standard fries. Also they had $ 3 drafts on Shock Top I believe which was the kicker to a sweet lunch. Rhode Island has some good food people.

Finding the door took more effort than expected in this cute little pub but when I got in the service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere dark but comfortable with noise level not too loud. My friend and I had some nachos and Cajun fries and were pleased with both(taste and portion size). As for drinks I had a Cranky Apple that tasted like a caramel apple using vanilla vodka and angry orchard apple beer with a sugared rim. REALLY good. Followed it up with a drink someone on foursquare recommended that was supposed to be reminiscent of a creamsicle… not so much a fan of that one. Had a decent time and enjoyed the menu/drinks for the price.

Great spot for a pint! Almost ideal pub. Attentive service, reasonable noise level, too many TV screens …

Fat Bellies pub. There is so much for me to cover. Why one star? Well my friends, I only generally give one star when I feel my health is at risk, or I’ve had, really, really, really bad service. If I had the ability to give Fat Bellies of Wakefield a star and a half, I would. SO where to start? I placed an order for the Egg Plant Napoleon without cheese and extra sauce, as well as the sourdough pretzels. The Boyfriend placed and order for a gluten free buffalo chicken pizza, and sweet chili wings. With this order we ordered a Paddy Wagon and a Rum & coke. We sat and watched tv for roughly 10 minutes while our drinks sat behind the bar, while the bartender and waitress frolicked with whoever was working in the kitchen. When the drinks came out, they were quite good, and it wasn’t until probably 25+ minutes after our order had been placed when we were greeted again by our waitress, who informed me while the boyfriend’s wings, pizza, and my pretzels were being served that there were no portabella mushrooms available to make my Eggplant Napoleon. Great. It took them that long to figure that out! So I ordered the next best thing: Teriyaki wings. While placing this order, my boyfriend requested celery and blue cheese for his wings. Fifteen minutes or so passed and my new batch of wings were placed in front of me. Hungry for protein, I took a bite of a rather large wing. IT was extremely crisp on the outside, and the meat was tender– However, that’s when reality hit and my tongue lashed against a chunk of meat that was close to freezing. At first I thought maybe I was imagining things– There is no way a professional restaurant would risk giving someone Salmonella, surely it was all in my head! Sadly, this was not the case, and after spitting out the chicken and fondling it with my finger, I discovered that it was indeed raw inside. Maybe it was just that one piece — I thought out loud, only to find out from my boyfriend upon tasting the raw chicken, that was not the case. So, the chicken got sent back. The waitress was extremely nice and apologetic, and gave us a few things on the house(Like one more Captain and Coke, and another Paddy Wagon), but there was still more wrong with the order. The Boyfriend had ordered a BUFFALO chicken pizza, only to find he was served a BBQ chicken pizza, with so much BBQ sauce that it practically oozed from the surface of the pizza. One of the free drinks — the captain and coke to be exact was lacking in the Rum department, AND because the waitstaff was so distracted by each other it took them forever to deliver the blue cheese, and we gave up on the celery sticks. Clearly they didn’t feel like giving them to us, or it just kept slipping their minds. My Paddy Wagon drink was pretty good, and so were the soft sour dough pretzels, the cheese sauce for the pretzels however sucked. You’d be better off going to Aunty Annes, or one of those Mall Pretzel places.

Fat Belly’s is definitely a favorite if mine; I’ve been coming here for a very long time as it’s rarely busy in the late night after all the families have gone for dinner, and the food is definitely fantastic — the pizzas, burgers, and nachos are always a good choice. Lately though, the service has been not so great. The past three times my boyfriend and I have visited for a late night drink takes at least a half hour to have a server check on us. A month ago, a waitress did not check on us after we got our drinks and a snack of chips and dip, and we were sitting with empty glasses and a plates for about 40 minutes. When we were ready for another round, she just dropped the check on us. It wasn’t even 11:30 pm and there was literally two other tables in the bar, with our waitress chit chatting with one other full table. So it seemed like she just didn’t want us around. Tonight wasn’t that busy except for the World Series game that brought in maybe more than a dozen people, and it still took a little while to have the waiter come to check on us. I usually expect a few downfalls whenever I frequent a pretty busy place but mediocre service a few times in a row with a few months between them is just not cool.

A great tavern with typical bar fare. I would suggest the turkey bacon avocado wrap– it was DELICIOUS! The waitress was nice and accommodating to our big party where we had more people join our party. Great select of beers on tap too!

Out of all the Fat Belly’s locations, this one is definitely my favorite. It’s decent food, nothing really over the top and typical bar fare. The burgers are pretty good, and it is a smaller menu. I’m not a huge beer drinker, but if I go here I do get beer. They definitely have a good selection of beers on tap.

Harp on tap! enough said, I am not much of a beer fan but I do love a cold Harp from the tap! I also love the cheese fries! Fries, bacon, cheese, chives, drizzled w ranch. Yum! The cheese is real cheese no fake stuff here. Try em and if the ranch throws you off order them without the ranch. The staff friendly and good. Went on a trivia night once and had so much fun. I’ve seen families and college kids here. Plenty of t. v’s all over to watch the game.

I have been in here a few times. Depending on who is working goes the services. They have some true meat heads behind the bar who could give a f%&k if you were there or not, and then there is 1 really super nice guy. I wanna say his name is Jared, Justin… yeah something with a J. So went in on Friday for a quick afternoon brew & snack. I had the chicken Florentine sandwich with side salad. Totally average sandwich nothing spectacular, but not bad either. The one thing I did not appreciate was freezing cold spinach on a hot sandwich. I am thinking they pulled it right out of the can & threw it on there. My counterpart had calamari which is always outstanding. I am sure I will be back, we do like going to visit the nice guy!

It’s been a year and a half since I first reviewed the Belly, and I’m still a fan. Trivia on Wednesdays is great. The service here is always friendly and on-point. They have a very good selection of beers, tons of TVs and while the menu is small I’ve liked everything I’ve tried here. This is pub food, good, simple, and consistent. I come here often enough and haven’t been disappointed.

The name fits here at Fatg Bellys and I am sure anyone who has ever eaten here would say the same! The portions are heaping! We tried the nacho’s Ooo La La. The burgers are classic(American) Bar style, Thick Juicy hamburgers, grilled just the way you like em’ and topped with almost anything that you could think of. Prices are reasonable. The bar is totally cramped and the wait at this particular location can be out of control. They do have a downtown location and they are in the works with one in the Warwick mall plaza. Check em’ out they’re great.
