Salon One 21 & Color Bar

If you are looking for a high end salon with stylists that keep up with the latest trends and techniques, this is the place for you! I have been coming to this salon since they opened, nearly 9 years ago. Highly recommend all the stylists. My stylist uses the baliage technique for my color to maximize the time between appointments (3 – 4 months). The salon is clean and well-​kept.
My stylist also did my hair for my engagement photos and my wedding day, along with my bridesmaids hair. All ‘do’s were fabulous! Since my wedding, the owner has now opened a new place across the street, Moments, for birthday party events and bridal parties where they do hair and make up. Fun!!! If only I was a little girl again…
I highly recommend Salon One 21 for cut, color, and event up-​dos (prom and bride/​bridal parties)!

Don’t waste your money on them. If I had a better experience with the salon it would probably been a better rating but it was awful! I made an appt to talk to the stylist on what I wanted. When I went in I didn’t see the stylist I asked for because she was too busy with someone else. (They should have rescheduled the consultation for another day) instead they pawned me off with another stylist. (That right there should have told me to go somewhere else) She seemed nice and seemed to know what to do. I showed her the cut and picture I wanted. She told me that it will be easy to do because she did that exact color on someone else… Yeah not so much. It was no where the color I wanted. I had to come back so she could make the correction… Not even close… So she suggested I speak to the owner of the salon because I didn’t get what I paid for. I was able to talk to the owner just to let her know «Hey, your stylist told me she can give the color I wanted and couldn’t deliver it». She totally agreed and got me another appt for the 3^rd time. Big mistake… Went in for the 3^rd and final time to get the color corrected, I ended up with damaged hair and a color that was bad… I will never ever go back there again. Not worth the time and money…

This place definitely has better than average stylists and some are actually outstanding, but it is the environment that puts me off. Phones are not answered quickly and often I end up going to voice mail and playing phone tag. It seems to be a lot of chit chat between staff and others who stop by and some customers end up waiting. On a few occasions I have seen children running around. While I think it is decorated nicely, there just doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of emphasis on taking care of the customer. I know a couple stylists have made comments about the children too, so it isn’t just myself seeing it. One other issue is that they have you sign for your credit card charges without presenting a full bill prior to signing.

The girls here were nice enough but I was very unsatisfied with the results of my coloring. To be fair, when I came in my hair already had color in it so it took much longer to lift the existing dye and my appointment ran long. However my hairdresser, Taylor, had her assistant finish my hair coloring and she did not tone my hair well. She also kept making rather rude unnecessary comments about how she was surprised my hair had been able to be styled or colored previously because it’s so «difficult.» They bleached my hair twice (once with 40 volume bleach which is the most damaging) without even telling me or asking me first. My hair had very uneven highlights that were frizzy, brassy and varying in length and color. In the end it was $ 115.
Ultimately I had to go to a salon elsewhere to get a color correction. I don’t doubt that most other customers have better experiences here but overall I was just pretty unimpressed. I’ll be taking my «difficult hair» elsewhere next time.

I recently made my first visit to Salon One21 and had an appointment with Mikki. I am very pleased with the results. Mikki did high and low lights on my hair and cut only enough off to clean up my dead ends and freshen my layers. She made the top of my head match the ends. In previous visits to a different stylist and salon, I felt the top of my head was always much brighter than the «old» hair. I walked out of Salon One21 feeling like I matched and it was a very natural look (which is what I wanted).
The atmosphere in the salon is nice, open, and clean. I really liked the huge mirrors in front of each chair.
When I was searching for a salon, one of the things that I liked about Salon One21 is that they advertise a 20% discount for new clients on your first visit. Just be sure to mention it before you pay so the discount is applied.
I will definitely go back!

My blahs-​ville hair was in need of an extreme hair makeover. After living in WF for a few years now, and still not being happy with any of the salons I had been to I decided to give Salon One21 a try.
They are located in a quaint little building downtown that has original hardwood floors, generously oversized mirrors, and a nice little charm about the place. All hair stylists and staff members were friendly, personable, and very stylish.
I was promptly greeted when I arrived and told that Rusanne was finishing up and would be with me shortly. I had also made an appointment to have my eyebrows threaded after my hair appointment, and due to the delay in the previous customer’s hair coloring, Amanda took me to complete the threading first.
Amanda was patient and fully explained the threading procedure and made me feel comfortable during the experience. The result was a perfectly trimmed eyebrow with no bumps, irritation, or redness usually resulting from waxing. Excellent work!
Rusanne called me over as soon as possible and I let her take control of my new hairstyle. I gave her loose guidelines and told her I was looking for volume, and something different. She quickly went to work and created a funky/​modern cut that really suited exactly what I was looking for. She went out of her way to ensure that I was happy with the cut, the styling, and the products used. Again, excellent work!
