It breaks my heart to see that this place is closed. I can honestly say that this is the best deli/butcher shop that I had ever been to. I’m from Virginia Beach and whenever I would go to Raleigh to see my best bud, we would always stop by DaVinci’s to grab some steaks to throw on the grill. Everything that they prepared was done so with the greatest care and attention to detail. Additionally, their antipastas, and subs were some of the best I’ve ever had. Here’s to hoping that by some glimmer of hope, they reopen someday. Truly will be missed.

Meat is good but over-priced. Owners have no concept of customer service-rude and unfriendly. Obviously a pair of miserable people.

Meat is overpriced. Biggest gripe is the sheer arrogance & rudeness of the owner. Shes not friendly, very condescending, & very close minded to her NC market. She’s insulted this region(the south) one too many times. My hospitality has run out though I’ve given several attempts. Learn & appreciate your surroundings or go back home. We will NOT return & will gladly go the extra 20 minutes to The Meat House in Raleigh for a far superior experience.

The female owner is SO rude! I have stopped going here due to being berated for not ordering in advance. So done with them. Sorry but I can drive to the Meat House and they are more than happy to help me, with no advance notice.

My first visit to DaVinci’s was excellent. I was warmly greeted and given great service. The meat selection was well presented and fresh. When I explained the dishes that I would be preparing, the owners both gave me very helpful cooking tips for the steaks and shrimp I purchased. They also helped me put together a fabulous picnic lunch that my husband and I just finished enjoying. We loved every bite. I will definitely be back soon. We also enjoyed a lovely evening this past week at Lumiere Bistro next door; a place where we are likely to become regulars!

The owners are Rude and rant about politics and the President when everytime I am there. The female ower is Rude and does seem to be offended when you ask her anything. Just yesterday I bought a petite Sirloin that should have cost 10.99/lb and the Male owner charged me @ 15.99NY Strip prices. I didnt notice until this morning when I was in the freezer looking for something. 6.96 for .4 Lb Sirloin. Good meat but being ripped off is just too much. Will not be going back.

They have great meat, but the owners are rude. We used to buy steaks here a lot, but the last few times we’ve been the female owner was down right rude and appears to be put out by customer requests. There used to be a younger guy who worked here who was very helpful and had no problem going into the back to cut a filet for me. But he’s not there anymore. Now whenever I go there I’m told I have to pre-order a filet at least a day in advance. Also, I called a week before Christmas to order a prime rib roast, and was told I had to order that in advance as well. At least 2 weeks in advance. So I asked if I could order it for New Year’s Day(which was in 2 weeks) and was told again that I had to order it in advance. Um… That’s what I was trying to do. I have since started going to The Meat House in Raleigh, and they are incredibly helpful every time I walk in. I can order a prime rib roast on the spot, they are more than happy to cut a new filet if I don’t like what they have in the case, and have a full market of wine, veggies, side dishes, bread, eggs, desserts, etc. so I don’t have to go to the grocery store to complete my meal. Good luck Da Vinci’s!

I couldn’t agree more with Marah! The owner has been rude every time I’ve been in this place! The last time I went in, I asked about the new restaurant that she opened next door. She was very gruff and made sure to tell me that children are not welcome. I told her I realized it wasn’t Golden Corral and I wasn’t even thinking of bringing my children IF we were to dine there! She also said that they weren’t looking for it to be a super busy restaurant, and prefer a smaller crowd. Who opens a business and doesn’t want people lining up at the door? lol She also managed to throw politics in the mix which I found very distasteful. What does that have to do with me buying a sandwich for my husband?! Mediocre food, terrible attitude, and after the last visit I won’t be back.

The absolute best Sandwiches(Hero’s– for those from up North). Does it cost more than Subway and other popular places… yes, but maybe by a buck or so. However, the difference is not even close! The meats, cheeses and marinated goods are the real deal and the bread might even cut up the top of your mouth(like real Hero bread is supposed to), unlike other’s served on oversized«hot dog rolls». The Staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are slightly more than a Supermarket, but the quality is superb. They can be busy at times and you might have to wait a while, but it is worth it. Hey, the wait is still easily shorter than a drive back to your old favorite Pork Store/Deli in NY/NJ.

Stopped by DaVinci’s today after having their flank steak with rub at a neighbor’s cookout. Our neighbor cooked DaVinci’s flank steak and also some that was bought at the grocery store and the difference was remarkable. DaVinci’s meat was so tender and delicious. The rub was a wonderful addition also. We ended up picking out flank steak, tilapia, jumbo shrimp, and a pasta that looks like rice. The woman in the store was really nice and helpful and offered cooking tips and suggestions on the various products. The meats were pricy, but for a special treat it is well worth it. All of their meat and seafood looked extremely fresh. Can’t wait to grill our purchases!

Awesome place to find thing you wouldn’t at your local grocerie store. I highly recommend the pinwheel sausage spiral. Feeds several people. Ps. If you buy any meat, such as filet or t-bone, they can have it seasoned for you to hit grill. Enjoy!

Buying good meets in the Triangle area can be tough. Most people are scarred to step for outside of their Harris Teeters and Lowes foods. Da Vinci’s is that magical place the once you find it, it can change the way you have dinner parties. The owners are from New York, moved to the area about six to seven years ago. They know how to cut meets. The meats they have are high quality. They also have great sausage with just the right amount of spices put in, depending on the sausage you are interested in. The other nice thing about Da Vinci’s is its deli section. Fresh breads and deli delights fill the shelves. You can find items that make your mouth water just thinking about the next time you will try them. Wither it’s for a simple diner, backyard bbq, or food party with friends, make Da Vinci’s your stop.

I think I’ve just had the BEST turkey, cheese, lettuce, onion and basil aioli of my life. Can’t wait to go back to try other deli sandwiches! Also, am actually looking forward to warmer temps to get some of that awesome looking, in-house made sausage for the grill! Thank goodness this little gem is in my new neighborhood area.

Seeing that this was the top rated place in my neighborhood, I had to try it again, as I couldn’t remember the first time. I was probably also comparing it to my favorite Italian sandwich shop(evar!) from Philly, who made the best hot Sicilian roast beef sandwich I’ve ever had.(P&S Ravioli co.) I was very happy with my roast beef sandwich here. At one point, I licked up a load of horseradish(?) dressing that was getting ready to drip out of the other end and it brought tears to my eyes(and sinuses), but they turned to pre-tears of gratitude. It was a really good sandwich.

In Eastern Wake County, one would think there is a prohibition in force against real butchers and delis. Try finding one. DaVinci’s proudly breaks the law and monopolizes this market. With them around, you don’t have to look any further. As much as I would like to disagree(LOL!) with all of the other reviewers, I can’t even try. So, please bear with me as I describe why this small store with a giant sign deserves at least 5 stars: 1-Location: Eastern Wake County where no other butcher or deli dares to tread. 2-The Entry Aroma: It just smells damn good with a hint of meat, breads and herbs. 3– Size: It is small so you get noticed, greeted and served very professionally. 4– Selection: Top quality meats, some essential Fresh seafood, Boars Head cold cuts, real Italian bread, pastas, canned tomatoes, oils etc… 5– Meat Slicing: This is the first place in all of NC where, without asking, the cold cut meats were sliced properly thin. There’s more… My recent visit was a weekday mid afternoon while the place was quiet. It was truly surprising to open the door, enter and find a small store. It is very tastefully decorated,(no pun intended) well organized, and their selection is great. There is a beautifully stocked butcher case which had many items that caught my eye: pork and veal for scaloppini, a French cut rack of lamb, homemade sausage, wild caught salmon, large fresh shrimp. All of the meats are presented with care and neatly organized. There is obviously a good butcher in the house. A delicious looking selection of salads included a very notable German potato salad. But, I was here on a mission for a sub. I probably chose their most popular Italian sub, which included ham, salami provolone, and roasted red peppers on their Italian loaf of bread. While the construction was taking place, I walked about to view their other refrigerated cases with salamis, cheeses, ravioli, prepared meals, etc… Then I saw their bread by the front door. This late in the afternoon and there was still one loaf left. That one became mine! I paid for my sub and loaf and was off. It was at home where I discovered a sight that brought me tears of joy. I was the proud father of a bouncing baby Italian sub bursting with almost paper thin sliced meats and cheese wrapped in firm, fresh, dense, chewy Italian bread. The eating experience was one I took slowly to savor each chewy flavorful bite. It was outstanding and ranks up there with almost any place in NY/NJ. Thanks for the trip home, if even for a few minutes, DaVinci’s.

Best, best, best butcher in Wake county! Been going since day one and not only are Anthony and Lisa passionate about what they do, they are great people. We’re so lucky to have them in Wake Forest. In addition to fresh home made sausage and prime meats, they have pristine seafood. They cut filet mignon to order; if you don’t see what you want in the case, ask. Anthony will only let the absolute best quality meats in the door.

I have wanted to try Davincis for a while and finally had the opportunity today. It was well worth the wait. The wife had a turkey/ham/cheese on ciabatta and I had the La Dolce also on ciabatta. Both were excellent. The turkey and ham for the wife’s sandwich were boars head. The La Dolce called for proscutto. Imagine my surprise when they pulled a cured pork leg out of the dairy case! Cheese isn’t usually something to write about but it is in this case. When asked what kind of cheese I wanted I was unsure. The nice lady helping me then suggested a slice of FRESH mozzarella. Absolutely wonderful. The kids had some of the baked ziti. We also shared some potato salad and German potato salad. Both very good as well. The ciabatta roles were just as described, slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. No dining area inside, which means no bathroom, but dining al fresco on a day like today was nice.

Wanted to test this place out for over a year and just finally got my fanny inside last weekend. The joint was jumping and everyone working here was super friendly and very knowledgeable. To the left of the entry is a large case of fresh meats. Everything from fresh sausages, pork, chicken, and beef. All meats looked fresh and perfectly cut. The prices were extremely reasonable on everything I saw. The back of the store has a cold case with freshly made salads, side items, meatballs etc. An attendant is there to help you pack up for a pic nic etc. The right side of the store houses a case with packaged cheeses, hard sausages, chorizo, mascarpone, and items in a freezer. The middle of the store has pastas, jarred and boxed items, and a selection of oils and vinegars. Fresh baked breads are in baskets by the front door. We missed out on the baguettes, but will stop back by earlier next time to pick some up. Can’t wait to go back and get some items for the grill this summer! A great deli in WF! Can’t wait to try everything in here at least once!
