I’m not really that much of a fan of Redondos (well, that much is obvious with a two star rating). Their Portuguese sausage is alright. I prefer Uncle Louies (
) over all other brands. It’s just a larger and more flavorful especially the ones with maui onions in them.
My major grip is their red hot dogs. The red hot dogs have an really odd flavor about them. I think that if it’s something you grew up with, you’d like them. If not, well you’re not going to like them. It’s definitely not a beefy flavor plus it’s not a natural casing hot dog (so that’s two major all encompassing strikes against them right there). They are an inexpensive brand alternative though.

Hawaii people love processed meat. LOVE. Redondos is one of the largest producers of sausage products in the state of Hawaii… and God bless ‘em, they make my beloved Portuguese Sausage. No, not linguica… I’m talking the spicy, fatty, tasty sausage that can be found on every McDonald’s of Hawaii menu… and it’s so versatile! Portuguese bean soup, portuguese sausage chili, portuguese sausage fried rice, portuguese sausage eggs and rice breakfast…
Redondos also makes these really weird looking red hot dogs. Don’t eat those. Stick to the Portuguese Sausage.
