Located in the lush Waimanalo area, just follow Kakaina Street down til you see the sign on your left side(if your coming from town) Private lot for parking makes everything easier. The egg store is located between the blue push doors you cant miss once you park. Availability on eggs depends on the birds, but Aunty is always willing to answer questions if you give them a call 808– 259‑7832 Earlier the better if you seek XL or L eggs Stopped by around 10:30am on a Saturday, and they only had Mediums

Farm fresh eggs! I noticed a couple of my Unilocal friends checking into this place and decided to visit. We’ve started buying our eggs from KK Poultry. For some reason when I get eggs from KK Poultry they taste better… maybe it’s all in my mind, but I still like buying direct from the farm. The prices are great, and the service is friendly. It’s off the beaten path, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a lot of people finding there way there. Often times when I go the X-Large eggs are already sold out. You can call ahead and place an order for them. I love looking at all the vintage items that they have, school desks, telephones, an old stove and oven, sewing machine, etc. What I really want is the vintage medical cabinet: Go early in the day. It may be out of the way, but it always seems to be busy. It’s easy to find after the first time.

YYYes! Finally a local egg farm near my house and they actually have LIVECHICKENS standing by laying eggs! I am so thrilled. I was facebooking one day asking where I could find a local chicken farm to get eggs. As I read more and more about GMO’s, carbon footprints, buying local and on and on I feel the need to participate in the movement for fresh produce and groceries in my home. After all, if you haven’t looked at my profile picture, I have 3HUNGRY boys. Everyone that replied named the egg farm out in Wahiawa. While I am truly grateful for 10 likes and 8 comments to my posted question, I DONOT know my way around Wahiawa and I live in Kailua… no can! When you are coming here be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the place cause seriously, you will miss it if you blink. There is an itty bitty sign on the fence with the name«KK Poultry» on it and the hours of operation written by hand on another hard-to-read-sign on their fence. Drive into what looks like a nostalgic country farm and walk into an old fashioned general store complete with old school jukebox and odds and ends from the 1930’s and 40’s. The Aunty there is a little snippy. Like if you ask her for anything more than eggs she gets annoyed but it’s so laid back there… don’t take it personally. Large and XL eggs run out sometimes by 10AM and usually they do not take phone orders. To reserve eggs you give her your name and when you will pick it up and she writes it down on the calendar. For fear of being black-listed from this place I wold not dare forget to pick up pre-ordered eggs. These people work too hard for you to waste their time. The original owner, Mr. Kaneshiro, who is in his late 80’s is still back there running the show. This is a serious family-operated business. Also, they are closed Monday and Tuesday so get enough eggs to last you till you need your next fix. 1 dozen eggs runs you $ 2.75 and a tray runs you from $ 5.75 — $ 6.25. CHEAP! and fresh eggs from again REALCHICKENS that are less than 500 feet away. For those of you that are loyal to Rocky Road eggs I have a total bubble burster. Those ARENOTLOCALEGGS. I called up before heading to Kaneshiro’s and they said they no longer have chickens on site and that THEIREGGSAREFROMCALIFORNIA. Go get the freshest eggs you’ve ever tasted right here on the Windward side! Cluck cluck!

KK Poultry Farm makes me happy to buy locally. After comparing their eggs with various other store-bought brands, I’ve come back time and time again through the years. For starters, it’s fabulous to get eggs that are super-duper fresh. Another benefit is that unlike most eggs I get from the store, KK Poultry Farm eggs have shells sturdy enough to withstand being hard boiled and then peeled without leaving behind a mess of torn egg white and bits of shell.(This indicates that they are feeding their chickens a good diet.) The taste and texture are fantastic too. Last, but not least, you get all that for a fraction of what you’d pay at the grocery store. Find KK Poultry Farm by turning off Kalaniana’olé Hwy at the corner where Shima’s and L&L Drive In are located(Mekia St.). Continue through a residential neighborhood until the road forks. The egg farm entrance is located opposite the left-hand fork, where Mekia St. meets Kaka’ina St. They may be slightly off the beaten path, but believe me, they’re worth the trip! We recently started buying our eggs from KK Poultry Farm Egg Store in Waimanalo because their eggs are noticeably much fresher than eggs that are bought in store. When you crack one of these eggs into the frying pan, you can immediately see the difference! They are really fluffy and they don’t stick to the pan as much as store bought eggs do. When you go to KK Poultry farm, you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. The first time I went, I almost felt like I was in the twighlight zone, and it was odd seeing my modern car amidst this very nostalgic setting. Perhaps it’s the experience of getting your poultry from a place like this that makes it even all the more special. But regardless of the setting, the eggs are undeniably fresh. You can buy eggs by the dozen, or by the tray(30), from small — XX large, and the prices range from about $ 2.50-$ 6.25. Hours are Wed-Sat 7:30am-3:00pm Sun 7:30am-noon. You’ll have to break out your GPS for this one, as it’s somewhere within a residential area in Waimanalo. I would have not been able to find it the first time on my own. These are not free range nor organic eggs,(thus the 4 stars) but they are the freshest eggs I’ve ever had, and we love them. The owner told us that there are no farms on the island that are free range. I guess I’m just going to have to get my own chickens if I want free range, organic, but for now, I am happy to get my eggs from KK Poultry Fram!
