Really wonderfully crafted shave ice in an assortment of flavors and add-ins including a great assortment of toppings to go along with this simply cool treat served in a plastic container that contains all the delicious juices. We loved It here and have gone back at least three times during our stay in Maui. Highly recommended by both the locals and tourists alike. My favorite is the Haupia ice cream or coconut ice cream on the bottom and coconut lovers ice flavors.

Super friendly and helpful staff, delicious flavors, and the best shave ice on the island — no contest. The macadamia nut ice cream scoop at the bottom is a must!

I made it a BIG point to go to Uluani’s at least once during our one week vacation and man, I wish I could have gone every day! The staff were super friendly and patient as I was overwhelmed with the options and tried to decide between ice creams, flavors, and toppings. Such variety! I went with the macadamia nut ice cream(super creamy), mango and coconut ice flavors and topped with coconut. It was heaven! I wish it wouldn’t have melted so quickly but I ate it all anyway!

I’ve been to every Ululani’s Shave Ice shop on Maui, and the shop in Wailuku is just as good as the others. Service is great, friendly, and helpful. I’d say Ululani’s shave ice is by far the best shave ice I’ve eaten because it’s fluffy/soft! Other places, their shave ice is still a solid ice. So many flavors to choose from, yet I can only pick 3! lol. As far as combinations, my favorite is the Coconut Lovers(Coconut, Pina Colada, and Tiger’s Blood) so definitely try it if you haven’t. Also, don’t be shame to create your own combinations! Even if it seems unusual! lol. Like the other shops, expect long lines. Prices depends on what you order(size, toppings, etc.) but it’s usually about $ 6 or less for«one» shave ice.

$ 6 will get you some delicious shaved ice with ice cream. Perfect way to start or end at nice relaxing day in Maui. Customizations are endless but you only need some shaved ice and ice cream in my opinion. The vanilla ice cream complimented the COCONUT the best and this was my favorite combo. I didn’t care too much for the mango or passion fruit. Great place to try in Maui.

Hard to find since there isn’t a large sign(yet?) that you can see when you drive in to the shopping center. Shave ice was pretty good, although I don’t have a ton of experience in this realm. Mango, pineapple and passion fruit made it a bit too sweet all together, so would try a different flavor combination next time.

I hadn’t written a review up ’til now cuz I just assumed everyone knows Ululani’s is the best shave ice. So if you don’t know… now you know.

We took a family outing to Ululani’s on Sunday, to get a little respite from the ridiculous heat that we’ve been having! I told my husband upon waking up that getting shave ice was an absolutely non-negotiable necessity that day, so we went out early afternoon with our toddler son and my mom with us. We love Ululani’s, and it’s our go-to choice for a sweet treat when in the Maui Lani area. Sunday, I got a small with red raspberry, orange, and guava, topped with fresh mochi. My husband got a mix of pickled mango and li hing mui, topped with extra li hing powder. Mine was great– the raspberry syrup is so impressive; it tastes like real, fresh raspberries. The mochi topping is GREAT! You get big chunks of it, and it tastes like the mochi I used to make in the microwave when I was a kid. Soft and tender, not too sweet. The shave ice here is top notch, and the syrups are great. I also like that they’ve added picnic tables and some shade to this location, so it’s pretty pleasant to sit and eat! The service was efficient, and they seemed to be very well-staffed to handle the steady line of customers. What we didn’t like was the overbearing-ness of one male employee, who insisted on asking us what else we were doing for the day. When we answered, «Just getting some shave ice!» he continued to ask us more questions about our plans for the day. I understand it was an attempt to be friendly and conversational, but my mom and I both agreed that it came across as intrusive and«a bit much.» Otherwise, great shave ice, and it will still be our first choice in town for a sweet treat.

Love this place! This location is a new one for us. Best place for shaved ice. Love the custom made benches that hold your cups. I had the LiHung Mui, Lychee and Mango combo. It’s even combined with Maui Manapua!

LOVE this location. So much nicer than the Kihei spot and pretty close to Kahului. Same great friendly service but this location is large, new, and clean. We appreciated the AC while waiting in the tiny line. No crazy long wait times here. No flies(yay!) and clean table seating outside. Perfect spot to stop on the way back from Iao Valley. Located in the plaza with Safeway.

Another must go to place while visiting here on Maui. They make one of the best shave ice I have ever ate! Staff was friendly and our cashier was very welcoming. She made recommendations and made sure we knew how to order. I got the Melona and Strawberry flavor which goes very well together. I recommend getting the small because it is way enough for one person. I also recommending adding ice cream to it was well. The shave ice was so soft and melts in your mouth. I did have a few hard ice pieces towards the bottom, but that didn’t bother me as much.

Best Shaved ice ever! Five Stars! This Ululani’s shop is new. It’s exciting. It’s fun! It’s full of life. Our family came here on a week day after going to the beach. Everyone had fun! There are about 30−40+ flavors at this location. Loved that they have different kinds of ice cream(macadamia, vanilla, chocolate, etc) and azuki beans to add to your shaved ice. This place is like a machine — one employee takes your order and money, another makes the shaved ice and pokes holes in it so the syrup gets inside, etc. What I love about the place is that their flavors all are home-made and don’t taste artificial. Get the coconut haupia, banana, mango. Top it off with condensed milk or li hing mui powder. ONO! Food Grade: A Service Grade: A Worth the Money Grade: A Overall Impression Grade: A!

Ululani’s Shave Ice is the best! The staff is friendly and helpful. This new location is beautifully designed and has a lot of parking. We like going to this location for local flavor lunch and everything we have tried is delicious! Garlic noodles, chow fun, kimchi fried rice, steamed buns with a saucy pork belly or brisket and of course the manapua. All of them meaty and flavorful, no skimping on fillings here and reasonably priced too.

Ululani’s shave ice is without peer. Broke da mouth 100percent. Seriously, the pickled mango and Li hi Mui make my mouth water just thinking about em. My mom is addicted to the root beer, especially with the cream on top. When we go tho, there’s hardly any sharing, so I have to take her report that it’s really really good on faith. Unfortunately, the manapua here are not so awesome. If you just have to have a manapua, they’ll do, but if you can wait until you get to honolulu, do. I was looking with interest at the chow fun though. Will try that next time for sure.

I love this place! Best shave ice on the island. They have different variety of flavors to choose from. I live in Wailuku and this location is so convenient! Its awesome that they also sell manapua here too. They sell T-shirts here if you want a souvenir. The only fallback is that there wasn’t much seating area outside. Friendly service.

Ululani’s newest spot is here in Maui’s newest & most lifeless mall, Maui Lani Shopping Center. ATMOSPHERE: TBA, as a friend brought some food back to me after her lunch break. They’re located in the north side of the mall with tons of parking. FOOD: Manapua — We tried the chicken adobo style, and it was tasty! The bun wasn’t that soft, a bit dry, but acceptable, and the filling of chicken bits had a nice shoyu-vinegar flavor, and was tender. Pork Hash — Unknown as they ran out by 11am. That’s the Maui syndrome: Bum rush the new biz as soon as they open, and buy it up. OVERALL: A great addition to the stale selections in Wailuku. They’ll do great especially with the high school across the way. Can’t wait to try more after the crowds die down.
