My husband and I go there all the time. They have the best salads and desserts! They even made our son’s birthday cake last year and it was amazing. I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about Stillwell’s Bakery

Very yummy veggie burger with lettuce, sprouts and tomato on thick bread for lunch. Small but efficient with nice staff! Umbrella tables to sit at outdoors, too. I’ve been told it’s the best bakery on the island, and it smelled heavenly when we walked in.

I was not sure what to expect… it was great. I had a club sandwich. 1st…it was large. 2nd…it had lots of crispy bacon. 3rd…it had a creamy/spicy dijonaise that was tasty. 4th…It was on fresh baked bread.

BESTBACONEVER!!! My husband and I stopped here before heading to the airport and it was one of the best small hidden jems of our honeymoon trip! Great sandwiches and breakfast! My husband still talks about it today and drools over their bacon!

5 stars definitely! Great service, delicious food!!! The best coconut cream pie I’ve ever had. Not too sweet, not too creamy. Our place for our last breakfast in Maui. Located less than 10 minutes from our rental car dealership.

This place has been here fo’ evah. Lately, with all the local kine cafes closing this means a lot. Great grinds. Sadly, they are not open on Sunday, but welcome to the islands. No can on Sunday’s and everything close by 8pm.

I’ve ordered food here a handful of times over the last two years. I’ve had the Chinese chicken salad, shrimp and crab salad, a sandwich, and a variety of pastries. For Kahului lunch time it’s one of the better options as choices are meager. But I still think there is room for improvement to fit the price range. It’s a bit spendy for what you get but where else in Kahului? I will note last fall they made one of the best pumpkin pies I’ve eaten and a very good strawberry florentine cup.

The owner(I think) was very friendly and helpful and told us how we can take their awesome cream horn home safely to Oahu.

Just arrived in Maui and was dying for something to eat. I jumped on my handy dandy Unilocal app and started searching for breakfast places near by. Stillwell’s Bakery & Café was on the top of the list and wasn’t a far drive either. WINNERWINNER! This is a small bakery with about 5 or 6 small tables inside. They also had some seating available outside. They had lots of yummy looking baked goods, but I needed something more filling than a pastry. The Grub. [[ FRIEDEGGSANDWICH $ 8 ]] The fired egg sandwich comes with toasted bread, mayo, tomato, cheese and your choice of meat(spam, burger, ham, deli turkey, bacon). This egg sandwich hit the spot for me! Perfect way to start my day-cation in Maui~~!

Absolute terrible customer service! Within the past month, I went there twice with different friends. The first time, my friend and I ordered our food to-go because we thought we were going back to work to eat. However, we changed our minds and decided to eat in. One of the older ladies behind the counter comes to our table and demands the brown paper bags back because we’re eating in. Irritated, I gave the bag back. She kept giving my friend the ‘stink eye’ because she didn’t give hers back. Well, when we were ready to leave, we both needed bags to carry out our uneaten food anyway! The experience would’ve been different if she asked nicely and said it was the bakery’s rule or something, but no. The second time, we just ordered and paid for our food. We didn’t realize that the cashier didn’t ask us if we were eating in or taking out until our food came in brown paper bags and we sat down to eat. The same older lady kept giving me the ‘stink eye’ the whole time we were eating! I only ate half my food, like usual, and needed the brown paper bag. The older lady was talking loudly about how people don’t follow the rules. Um lady, where the heck are these rules posted?! Nowhere! If that’s a rule you folks have, post the damn thing somewhere where we can see it. Instead, you guys get mad over a paper bag, give off negative vibes, and repel customers. So poho! I understand times may be hard, but those little things and word of mouth can really hurt a business. You have good food, but terrible customer service. Sure, people may remember some things about the food, but they’ll definitely remember how they were treated, especially if it was negative. I suggest you wake up and do something about it or things may go south real quick.

As a longtime Wailuku resident, it’s curious that I’ve never actually been to Stillwell’s. I’ve only heard the best things about their sandwiches, salads, and baked goods– even from my friends on Oahu!– but I never made it in to try anything out, despite passing the place at least once a day! Finally, yesterday I found myself in need of a late lunch, so I decided to stop in on my way home. I should have studied the menu a bit before I went in, but I quickly found the lunch menu on the left side wall and made my selection. The young lady at the counter was very sweet and helpful as I ordered my sandwich to go, and some treats to take home for my husband and son. I had a crab cake sandwich, which I’ve since been told is their«signature» item. I got it on a croissant, and oh boy! This was probably the best sandwich I’ve had in quite a while. The two big crabcakes on the sandwich were burger-sized, hot, and tender, and they worked super well with the rest of the sandwich. The Caesar salad on the side was good, but not very evenly dressed. I added some of it too my sandwich to pump up the lettuce factor a bit. I also bought two cream horns and a crème brulee to take home. Everything was really perfect! The cream horns were crispy and fresh, and perfectly filled. The crème brulee was smooth, with a nicely crunchy and caramelly topping. The desserts themselves were all under five dollars for the most part, so I’m really excited to try more! All in all, this was a perfectly wonderful experience, and I’m definitely going to be back in for more lunch and treats more often. In the meantime, I’ll just be over here kicking myself for being so late to the game.

The best sandwich and desserts. Anywhere. Stillwells is primarily a bakery. They have a fairly simple breakfast and lunch menu with some of the best food around. All of the sandwiches come on their house made bread. All of their desserts are house made ranging from magical macadamia pie to their specialty, the cream horn. It’s a small establishment without a lot of frills but you can’t go wrong here.

I just ate here for the first time today. I’ve gotten the desserts here many times and they are all good. I’ve never had anything bad but I’ve never found that one or two things that is simply the best. I finally found that last year with the gingerbread. If I want to be picky I’d say it’s a tad too sweet and could be baked for a smidgen longer. I like soft cookies compared to crunchy and it’s nice to have a crispy edge. Having said that the ginger flavor is perfect. Too much ginger and it can taste«soapy» too little and it’s just a cookie. I wait all year for this… I love gingerbread. I love ginger. Today I had the best pot pie I’ve ever had. With one of the best ceasar dressings ever… well once you get past the garlic. Yeah I know… there are cheats in food that we don’t need but I forgive you Stillwells. I like the garlic in the Ceasar dressing. I like all the butter in the pot pie. Thank you for not putting bacon in there too… being a little judicious and making a choice of one or the other. Not the biggest potato fan but putting them in helps balance what would be a far too rich dish. The peas, corn same purpose. The pot pie/ceasar salad was $ 11. Pricey for lunch, factor in paper plate and plastic untensils, but if you charge me that much it better be damn good… it was and I would gladly pay it again. Roast beef sandwich was great too.

Another great Unilocal referral. Perfect way to cap another fabulous visit to Maui, a satisfying breakfast before the flight home. A bakery is an ideal place to dine for homemade bread and dessert afterwards :) Will definitely come back!

I ordered a 50⁄5010″ cake. It’s half white cake and half chocolate with a buttercream filling. It was so good. Pick up was very smooth. Would order another cake from them.

This place is so cute and has so many delicious foods to choose from. Located just outside of Kahului on the way to Wailuku, it’s got nice views of Iao Valley. The parking lot is a pretty good size so parking shouldn’t be much of an issue. There is lots of seating inside and 3 tables outside. I was waiting for a friend so I had a few minutes to browse and narrow down my selection. The French horns tried to take me down-they were on the list. But that strawberry Florantin cup… It sang songs to my soul. There was no turning back now. I ordered and grabbed a table outside – it was really packed inside. I guess everyone else knows where to go for good grub. It was a hot day so we were really thankful to have a spot with shade. So, the florentine looked good, but it tasted even better. It was perfectly sweet with a nice crispy outside shell. The prices are decent and the staff is friendly. One of the employees came by a few times to make sure the garbages were emptied and the tables were clean. Stillwell’s has a nice variety of sandwiches and salads too. Many people stopping in, grabbing lunch and heading back to work. If you haven’t stopped in yet, head over and indulge.

Stillwell’s Bakery & Café is a great place for a simple lunch – they have a variety of sandwiches, salads, and soups that are a fresh and healthy alternative to plate lunch. Sandwiches are made with their homemade sandwich bread, thick sliced with a super chewy crust, and come with chips or a salad, plus you can add a soup. You want the salad, and you want to pay to upgrade your side salad to a Chinese Chicken Salad, because you will love the crunchy won ton strips and super tasty, will anyone notice if I start licking my plate, salad dressing. If you’re hungry, add the soup, the variety changes, so check the menu board. And you shouldn’t leave Stillwell’s without a box of goodies from their dessert case. They have beautiful whole and sliced pies, and individual servings of crème brûlée, tarts, cheesecakes, mousse, cakes, and of course, their famous cream horns. If you like cannoli, try the cream horn, it has a firm, flaky crust and a lightly sweet custard filling. Start from the plain end because the chocolate dipped side is the perfect last bite. Stillwell’s is perfect for a work day lunch or to pick up sweets to take to your next gathering. Enjoy!

While working on Maui today, my Unilocal buddy — Nat N. gave me a wonderful tip the other day to check out this place called — Stillwell’s Bakery & Café in Wailuku,(as she knows that I am a big fan of custard). After finishing up a few jobs in Kahului, I decided to break off for a quick lunch. I turn on my GPS on my phone, & navigate myself up to Stillwells. Surprisingly, this place was easy to find, I would say as you head up the hill towards Wailuku, just before you get to the old famous bridge, Stillwell’s Bakery & Café is just to your right before the bridge. Apparently this place is only opened for Breakfast & Lunch… they don’t do dinner. The breakfast menu is served from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. And the lunch menu is served between 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Upon walking into the Bakery/Café, I could see it was a very small café, where there is probably like 8 tables or so. You basically read the wall menu, then you walk up to the counter to order your food, after you place your food order, just look for an open table to sit down. The clerk will bring out your food to your table. I basically came here to try the famous Cream Horn(thanks for da tip — Nat N.!), but since they also served lunch, I decided to have a light lunch over here, and picked up a Chinese Chicken Salad. What can I say about the GRINDZ? The Chinese Chicken Salad. 1st of all, I was pleasantly surprised about the Chinese Chicken Salad! I gotta tell you folks… it was a BOMB @ss good salad!!! I would actually come back here to eat this salad again! Really, it was that good! I loved the oriental dressing, the shredded chicken, as well as the little crunch chips that complimented the salad so well! Noms! The ½ serving was $ 6.95…yeah, a bit on the pricey side for a ½ serving, but it tasted so good! When I come back here in the near future… I swear, I will do the full salad and pony up the $ 11.00 bucks or so for this salad! Now, to the item which I came here for — The Cream Horn. What is a Cream Horn? Well, a cream horn is a flaky rolled up pastry with cream injected in the middle. One end of the horn is dipped in chocolate, and the top of the pastry roll is dusted with powdered sugar. That’s the best way I can describe a cream horn my friends! What can I say about the Cream Horn… well, it was good,…but it still cannot stand next to my all time favorite — «Snow Puffies» from the Paalaa Kai Bakery in Waialua!(See! Lar Lar S. & Lisa S., you folks are da devil! See what cha’ folks did to me? I am hooked! Lol!) The Cream Horn pastry was flaky, but a bit hard(my Unilocal buddy Ric C. put best as he described it like a «cannoli»)…I wanna say it was hard in the sense of a «cracker crunch», as far as the pastry texture goes(When I bit into the cream horn, it was crunchy). It is so different from the light & flaky pastry texture of a Apple Naples from Zippy’s, or the light & flaky pastry texture of the Snow Puffie from Paalaa Kai Bakery. I guess that’s how the cream horn’s pastry is made… now, about the cream filling of the cream horn. The custard type filling of the cream horn was delicious! It was rich & creamy… and I must say it complimented the crunchy pastry. To top it off, on one end of the cream horn is dipped in chocolate, and the entire pastry was dusted in powered sugar… how’s that for SUGAROVERLOAD! Can we say«early onset diabetes?» Lol! Anyways, I noticed this Bakery/Café does a lot of soup & sandwiches. The breakfast menu also looked pretty good, but unfortunately I got there way too late today… and I’m talking waaaaaaaaaaay past breakfast time… and it was pretty late for lunch too(when I got here). There is free parking in the private parking lot, but the parking lot is shared by other businesses(real estate office, tire shop, & a few other businesses) in the small complex. Overall, a nice little bakery/café! They do have other types of pastry items too… I was kinda eyeing out the tiramisu… but had to control myself, as I’m trying to keep my boyish figa. Buwahahahaha! Check ‘em out gang! No can go wrong!

STILLWELL’S BAKERY&CAFÉ @1740KAAHUMANUAVE: I have been a fan of their cookies. Prepacked 12 cookies for $ 10.00 is a great deal. This makes a great souvenir. Although this might not last for a long time. I recommend you put this in fridge in Hawaii if you are keeping them more than a few days. They serve breakfast too! Next time, I will try crème Brule and tiramisu!

I hear you cannot visit Maui without making a stop at Stillwell’s Bakery. Believe me, I tried. When I was creating the itinerary, we were short on time and so I had crossed out the bakery. Both my coworker and husband looked at me like I was crazy after hearing this. But now that I have sampled the famous Stillwell’s cream horns, I know why. The flakey pastry is amazing and the cream is sandwiched between just the right amount of chocolate. It is wonderful. Sad to say, there is nothing quite like it on Oahu. They sell them frozen, but I recommend the fresh ones if you can buy them close to your flight time. Definitely a must when visiting Maui.
