The food is good, traditional Korean. I’m visiting so I can’t compare to other restaurants in the area. I pulled into the lot just after dark, there was a guy hanging out just pacing. The area is not well lit or busy at night. While I was there only Koreans were dining, thus telling me I had the right spot. The reception was cold from the staff. The server came very short from throwing the plate down. The food was great! I ended up eating half and taking the rest back. Next time I’ll opt for take out. If I wanted hostile service I’d pick a fight with someone I know while at their house for dinner.

Oh my. This is one amazing Korean restaurant. I ordered beef bulgogi(my usual dish) and spicy pork with kimchee. My wife ordered kimchee fried rice and kimbap. Everything was amazing! The pickled white radishes were outstanding. We had a lot to bring home, and left very satisfied. Our waitress was very attentive, and wasn’t annoyed by all my questions! We will definitely be back!

I’m from LA so I can tell the differences from decent Korean food to below average ones. I’ve tried 3 other so called Korean restaurants in Maui and they all sucked, really sucked! One place called Isana in Kihei… Worst of all. I almost puked after eating at Isana. First, they are clean. No funky smells like some places. Nicely lighted inside so I can actually see what I’m eating lol. The server lady was very attentive and nice. There were about 5 tables with customers and she had everything under control. We ordered a couple of dishes and they were all yummy!!! After having bad experiences at other places, we didn’t expect to have delicious Korean food!!! We were like Hallelujah! Actually, their food was better than some of LA restaurants’s. If you are craving for Korean food or Asian food while in Maui, please try out this place! It’s a must! The location is a little off from the main town but it’s worth a drive! You won’t regret it! Some reviews said it’s in a sketchy area, then go there in the daytime. That’s what we did. You local people, you are lucky to have this place in Maui! You aren’t missing out on anything when it comes to Korean food. You guys have an authentic Korean food right in your backyard!

After a day of strenuous activities and eating heavy foods, I was compelled to give my body a break by eating Korean food. In Maui, there aren’t many choices(probably about 2 real Korean restaurants) and I chose JB’s b/c of the breadth of food options. Ohana’s is located in a sketchy area of Maui. I certainly didn’t feel too safe when coming from the parking lot. The restaurant apparently is some kind of restaurant/karaōke hybrid business(didn’t see any karaōke machines). I ordered the bibimbap and tofu stew. As expected, the tofu stew was flavored with a Korean ramyun soup base(and I hate this) and the bibimbap had a nice mix of vegetables and beef. Was anything memorable? Nope. However, I was able to re-energize after eating Korean food. Considering they have no competition, I consider Ohana’s a decent option for Korean food. That being said, I was irked that they added a 20% tip to the bill. Considering how cheap this restaurant is for the Maui food scene($ 12 for bibimbap and $ 13 for tofu stew) I would have tipped them at much or more but it was very annoying that they took advantage of the situation and treated me in that manner(and I know they did this because they knew I was a tourist and spoke Korean). Anyway, I don’t recommend this restaurant but wanted to leave this review for Korean tourists having a craving for Korean food.

ALOHA! FINALLY a AUTHENTIC Korean food on the island. Every other Korean restaurant is infused with Japanese, chinese, hawiian style, and I didn’t find it to be what I was looking for. Finally after a recommendation from the sweet Korean lady I met at maui swap meet where she told me she loves the traditional Korean meal. She recommend me get the sting ray stew and yes omg it sounded different and I never had sting ray so it was a must try. I was scared when I heard they serve that because I never even thought you can order sting ray! Finally arrived and the parking is limited, not sure if there is any more in the back but we parked in the front. Sat down and I was handed the menu. The waitress gave us some ice ginseng tea which was different, and I liked it. Drinking ginseng tea in the hot weather is a great tea because ginseng is great for you body and calming the body down in the heat. I then ordered the sting ray stew and seafood veggie noodle soup. Seafood veggie noodle soup This came in a good size stainless steel bowl, filled with hot spicy broth, assorted seafood such as blue crab, shrimp, mussel, clams, veggies, and the noodles. The broth was on point and it was medium spicy. The noodles had a great texture which was smooth and paired good with the spicy broth. It was crazy eating hot soup in the warm weather but it was worth every drip of sweat! This dish was about $ 12 but perfect amount for sharing with 2 people. I would recommend this. Sting ray stew Little kay from maui swap meet advised me to not say spicy because the chef makes it on fire! Keep it regular if you cant handle Korean spicy! Now let for the first time eating a sting ray I was quite nervous like what if there is poison or if they don’t know how to cut it properly I would get sick lol, I was just paranoid. Anyways the dish came to the table and the portion is like huge! It can feed 3 to 4 people in my opinion. The sting ray meat taste just like fish, and without the bones in the middle because it was so tender cooked, it separated from the soft bones with a slow motion action with the chop sticks. It was fresh you can tell and it was good. The texture is soft and tender and this dish isn’t hard to eat. On the very bottom of this dish there is big chunks of daikon, garlic cloves, fire cracking jalepeno peppers, green onions and onions too. The peppers made it hot and it was so good with the Korean steam rice. Banchan It included complimentary kimchee, fish cake, sweet and sour daikon, pea leaves, green beans, and eggplant. The kimchee was average where I have tasted better. The daikon was perfect blend when your mouth is on fire to calm it down. The pea leaves had a light sesame oil which was to get you taste buds back to normal from the rich heavy tastes. The eggplant was different and it was very soft but went well with the rice. The green beans were crisp but it was light on the taste. Fish cake was kind of dry in my opinion. The ban chan here isn’t the best but hey it comes with the meal, so heyyy… Overall great food and service with refilling our ginseng tea. I dare you to order the sting ray stew if your feeling brave and want something authentic. Sorry poor sting ray but I had to try one of ya. Thanks for reading and have a Unilocaltastic day! MAHALO!

Really love the Kim-Chee stew. Spicy and hot, perfect. In addition to the good food the place is clean, well lit, and the service is prompt. Been here several times, and will be back.

Probably my favorite Korean eatery on the island. Not because they are the cleanest(yes!) but also because of their wide selection and tasty dishes. I love the cold noodle soup and chapchae. I’ve got a few times late night for karaōke too and the staff are always accommodating. Would love take a big group their one day.

I’m glad this place has been doing well! My mom and I stopped in Saturday with my two-year-old, and enjoyed a really plentiful meal of rice cake and dumpling soup and kimchi fried rice. The food here has never disappointed, and it’s actually really great value for the amount you get; pretty much anything on the menu will serve two or more people. The banchan are delicious too, and the kimchi here is really top-notch with that homemade flavor you can’t get in the store. Service could be friendlier, hence the four stars, but otherwise, this is definitely some of the best Korean food on the island.

I would give more stars but. we made a reservation for 20 but only 16 of was able to come in. we felt bad and squeezed ourself to open up a table for the restaurant. The owner pulled a table a part and sat a couple. Gave them menus and told them to order hurry up and order…(mind you that they havent gave us a menu yet) we asked us for hot water and the owner states they dont have time to heat it for us, amd stated we only have ice water. Then the owner said to us, «We saved and made a table for 20 and only 16 of you showed up…, you guys show have prordered over the phone, then it would have been better.» WOW, really!!! You want to say that to a large group? And then continued to be rude!!! Not good. We had to grab our own menu and not even provide us hot water and you still have things to say? I am also in the indus

First time here, crazy location. Got the fried chicken and ramen with dumplings. FAIL! The noodles were mums Saimin, even Saporo noodles is better. On the other hand my fried chicken didn’t have a dipping sauce, no taste. Asked for sauce but she said there’s none. My husband got the $ 35 stingray soup and he loved it.

Food was good. We got the youkejang($ 17) and dukguk, which was about the same price. The sides were great as well. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. The place is large and we’ll maintained. I would recommend this place

This place is located in a somewhat ghetto place. There’s some kind of club located behind the restaurant and there was girls in not so appropriate clothes standing around there(make you kind of wonder if it’s really a club). We came here craving for some good meat after a long hike in Hana. My bf order the bulgogi, it was okay, not the same bulgogi meat as in the states. I was craving for the tofu seafood stew, but when it came out, it was not in a clay pot like am used to. Maybe I order the wrong kind of stew. There was no egg cracked in it but the stew turns out to be pretty good.
