Wow. what a difference one year makes. The only thing tasty was the poke. The baby shrimp cocktail I felt like I had to wring it out before I ate it. The ice must have been melting in the crab because when I cracked it water dripped out. For the hot bar actually the chicken with gravy was the tastiest dish. The clam chowder tasted like they used the mash potatoes to thicken it and that’s what it tasted like. Mashed potato clam chowder… weird. the prime rib was dry, the hot crab was decent. The steamed vegetables had no taste. Sad to say I won’t be rushing back for the prime rib and seafood buffet for 39.95. I think we over paid!

The one star is for the view. We were seated and given water and didn’t see a waitress or waiter for another 15 minutes. Finally a waitress showed up and asked if anyone had taken our order-obviously not, if this is your section and it is the first time you are even stopping at our table. I ordered a Chef’s Special-big mistake. Waitress left and quickly brought back drinks. In less than 5 minutes, our lunch was delivered. My «Special» must have been sitting in a warming bin since the restaurant opened. Chicken Teriyaki, Rice and Mac salad. How hard can it be to serve hot food? Rice was warmer than the chicken and it was at room temp. Waitress NEVER came back-found some friends at another table and stood there talking to them. My husband finished his food and I finally went inside and found a manager and told him how bad the food and service were. I asked him to take my meal off and to send the bill out. Bill was delivered by another waitress. We paid and left. Be warned… bad service, food that no one cares about.

We had a small luncheon celebration over there & i have to say the view is breathtaking, we got to sit outside on the lanai. Its an all you can eat buffet & the selection of food was not that much, it didnt seem like they were making sure the trays were filled, Most of it was empty. I have to say their fries are very good. The price per person is very cheap esp. Down here on maui, we dont have that much buffet resturants down here. Just wish their food was good as their view.

This place is just OK. It’s our family go-to after lunch buffet in town but if I had a choice I would make the drive somewhere else. The food there is alright tasting(nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about). I’ve only been to their Sunday brunch so I can’t speak for the rest of their menu.

Well — my boyfriend and I have gone several times for the lunch buffet. Today we went to the buffet and noticed they had removed the clam chowder and dessert off the buffet. Asked our server who said they either had to get rid of some items or increase the prices. So i did not order the buffet, instead i opted for the daily special for 7.95 — pork loin with gravy, steamed rice and veggies. Plate came — everything on my plate was cold, sent it back, when it returned i could tell they microwaved it as the plate itself was super hot, pork was dry and tough and i could not eat it. Rod had some kahlua pork on his plate from the buffet which had a bone in it the size of your thumbnail. Also his iced tea tasted like soap. Manager came over, gave us a $ 5 credit for the crappy meal and at that point we were done with the whole place. No thank you

Made a reservation for family of 15 for Thanksgiving brunch a month prior and arrived to find us seated at 4 tables in a crowded room with locals seated at several 1 table of 20! They were sorry.

Today, we encountered a cockroach running across our table. When we complained, the waitress did not seem shocked and offered us a 10% discount… Not for Kama aina, they don’t offer that, but for our trouble. UNACCEPTABLE!!! This place is FILTHY!!!

2 stars only because of the CONSISTENTLYBAD service! Although the food is consistently good — kudos to the kitchen staff — the service seems to be getting worse! Out of 3 waitresses that i saw, seemed like only 1 was working and, unfortunately, we weren’t seated in her section! Every time we go there, it seems as if refilling your water cup is not part of the job, as I don’t recall one time I’ve been there where I didn’t have to ask. Well, you know it’s bad when you ask for a refill and then wait a few minutes, see that no one is returning to assist, then have to retrieve a water pitcher yourself because you’re so thirsty. Sorry, but I didn’t feel like jumping into the water hazard outside just to quench my thirst. Not today! Not being impatient, but when you’ve been there for more than a half hour and the only time they came to check on you was BEFORE you started eating, service is surely lacking! And when they walk past your table several times, look directly at your empty cups and keep on walking, service surely sucks! I can see if the place was packed and all the customers were ordering everything ala carte, but the other 3 tables were already done eating and just conversing or were having the buffet! C’MON!!! Word of advice to our server(s): tipping is based on service and performance and shouldn’t be expected as a percentage of the bill! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, IFTHESERVICESUCKS, SOWILLYOURGRATUITY!!! Do you know why it’s called a GRATUITY? And remember, if I’m serving myself, I’m not obligated to leave you anything –jacksquat, zilch, nada, zip, zero, NOTHING!!! You should be tipping me! Only because I was once a server did you get anything! I can empathize with you guys having a busy day, maybe even an off day, but when over the last 4 or 5 visits, the same waitresses seem to be consistently lacking, C’MON! I can see if we’re demanding or rude, but we barely ask for anything, other than refills of water. I’ve even asked for a pitcher to be left at my table so I don’t have to inconvenience you from doing your job, but was politely declined. Something to do with«not enough pitchers» if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, only because of the service, which is consistently lacking, I don’t think we’ll be back! Too bad, as we eat out A LOT and love to patronize local establishments with consistently good food and service. We also tip extremely well when the service deserves it! Oh yeah, and don’t go here near the end time of the lunch Buffett — 2 p.m. — cause it seems the wait staff eats during that time and you may never see them after that, even if you, as a paying customer, are not done.

For 37 bucks a pop it was ok. I wish they had more options though. The place is nice since it is a golf course. Only place I could find that had crablegs. Well my wife was happy so what can I say.

There are very few intersects of a good breakfast, beautiful setting, and reasonable prices in Maui, but this is one of them. First the food: we went to the Sunday brunch and found plenty of very good food that featured omelets by the chef, the usual breakfast fare of bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, etc., plus roast beef, poke, rice, steamed vegetables, fresh fruit and salads, salmon rolls, variety of desserts, etc. Enough said. It was good food. Beautiful setting: We were seated outside, looking out over the Maui Valley with visible ocean on both sides. The volcano was across the valley in the distance with its usual halo of clouds. Its the reverse of the Kula view. The restaurant is in the middle of a golf course with an impressive water feature below us with some koi lolly gagging around. Price was $ 23/person. Not bad. And friendly staff. Great place to spend a relaxing Sunday morning, and since you are already on that side of Maui, head to the Iao Valley and also the very nice gardens in Kepaniwai Park, about a mile before Iao. Suggestions to restaurant: Put labels on the covered dishes. Also, keep the heaters going under the hot food. Some of them went out and hot dishes were cool!

Went for the Asian American Fusion buffet on Saturday. Wanted to do the prime rib and seafood buffet, but that’s only on Friday, so had to settle for this. Definitely make reservations or get there right at 5:30. We got there right at 5:30 without reservations and they managed to put together a table for 2. However, 20 mins later, I saw them refusing people who didn’t reserve. Food was fair, but I expected more for my $ 32.50. Sushi? Big tuna roll pieces which was mostly rice. Raw Oysters? Looked good, but wasn’t. Snow crabs were good, not salty as I’ve seen from other places. The Lechon(roast pig) and short ribs were the best offerings. Everything else was too much carbs(tempura, rice, noodles). If you can eat your money’s worth in snow crabs, go for it. Other than that, nothing really special. I would go back to try the Friday buffet, but probably not the Asian buffet.

WTF! Buffet only on Sunday! Those who gave reviews STOP giving wrong impressions! A vacation is only a few days long and half a day chasing down a Fing restaurant is a bad way to spend it.

Let me preface this review by saying that I LOVECRABLEGS. Like, a lot. So if I am biased towards the crab in this review, you know why. Knowing this, it would come as no surprise that I was beyond thrilled to go to this Friday prime rib and crab leg buffet for my fathers birthday. Of course, I would have preferred Alaskan King crab legs instead of the snow crab that was provided but for $ 35 a head for all you can eat, in MAUI, you can’t really complain. We came for a 6pm reservation since the buffet runs 5:30 — 8:30pm. The variety of appetizing food was pretty good. There was a salad station, tako and ahi poke, shrimp cocktail, fruits, pasta/cold salads, sushi rolls, rice, mashed potatoes, fish, chicken, seafood scampi, cold crab legs, hot crab legs, prime rib, fried shrimp, and probably a few other things I don’t remember. My strategy from the get go was to fill up on crab and(mostly) only crab. I tasted some of the poke which had good flavor but was a little slimy. The rice in the sushi was too vinegary but was topped with raw smoked salmon which was tasty. The seafood scampi was pretty good with generous portions of scallops, mussels, and shrimp. And then of course the hot crab legs with melted butter!!! Equipped with crab leg cracking tools, I ate and ate and ate to my heart’s(and stomach’s) content and then some. By the time I was done, the taste of crab was no longer appetizing! The dessert station seemed to satisfy my family with a bunch of cakes, cheesecake, and chocolate pudding. I figured if I had room for dessert then I could eat more crab… so I didn’t have any. Overall, as a crab lover, Kahili Restaurant puts on a pretty good deal. Service is good(though from all the salty crab and butter I sometimes had to wait for refills of water), the selection is good, the price is right, and my stomach left super happy! If you don’t mind eating outside, the view overlooking the golf course and Haleakala is beautiful! They also have a separate room for private parties. The highlights: Cold crab legs — Sushi platter — Shrimp cocktail and poke — Seafood scampi — Hot crab legs —

My husband chose the Friday night Seafood Buffet to celebrate our 10 year anniversary because when we ate there a couple of years ago we enjoyed it. But this time it wasn’t the same quality at all. The best part was the salad bar and the shrimp cocktail. Some of the sushi looked old, especially the ones that had fish in the middle. Fresh fish is pink, not black. The hot food was not hot, the pasta looked good but was lukewarm… the steamed crab was also room temperature and not so fresh. The shell was soft and to get them open we had to use our forks because it wouldn’t crack. The meat inside was shrunken and it stuck to the shell. Service was just ok… nobody was friendly unless you knew them. For $ 34.95 plus service charge already added on, not worth it.

Came here on the request of my mom for our weekly lunch. I’m glad we did! ATMOSPHERE: The inside is nothing special, but the huge, covered outdoor lanai is gorgeous! Beautiful bi-coastal views of the central valley and Haleakala. It was a windy day but it wasn’t out on the lanai. The outdoor lanai is so big it’s divided in half which can be used as a private outdoor seating area for groups. FOOD: Shrimp Linguine — I was surprised at how good this pasta dish was, being a picky pasta fanatic. 6 good-sized shrimp, capers, cheese and parsley over linguine in a thick, but not heavy alfredo sauce, topped with 2 small garlic bread slices. One of the breads was almost rock hard but the other was soft, go figure. Cashew Chicken — My mom loved it. Pieces of chicken in a salty teriyaki/soy sauce stir fried with sugar snap peas, cauliflower, carrots, green onions and won bok over yakisoba noodles. Prime Rib French Dip — Thin, moist slices of prime rib in a crunchy & moist French roll. Au jus was dark and salty. Side of thick cut fries. Portion was perfect for me. Very good! Traditional Reuben Sandwich — One sandwich cut in half diagonally. I wish they’d use a lighter colored rye bread as the variety used looked like wheat bread which I didn’t care for visually. The pastrami was tender and thin, and the sauerkraut had a nice mild flavor. The portion size was a bit small for the price of $ 9.95. Came with a side of thick natural cut fries. I still like the one at Kahului Ale House better. SERVICE: We had the most pleasant female server. Very professional and attentive. TIP: The regular menu is limited during the Sunday brunch. The shrimp linguine was not available. Boo! OVERALL: A nice place to have lunch in the central area with beautiful views and a great menu with pretty good prices. I do want to come back and try their prime rib & seafood buffet on Friday nights as well as sample other things on their menu.

Friday night all you can eat prime rib & seafood buffet yum! When you make your reservations ask to be seated on the deck I there is any room. The view is just wonderful. We started off our evening with some pupus poke, sushi, salad etc. then moved on to some crab legs. The seafood pasta is the best! The service was really good servers checking on us every now and then. We had better service this time around than when we went 6months ago. I guess new staff??? All n all great service n great food!

We went here at my dad’s request. It was his birthday and he wanted to eat after a round of golf. Let’s just say there are probably about 200 better restaurants on the island of Maui. Maybe more. First of all, any place with pictures of food on the menu is suspect with me. Second of all, when a tour bus unloads people here for a meal, that is also suspect. The food was cafeteria quality. They touted my mahi mahi as macadamia-encrusted but it tasted like it was rolled in soggy panko breadcrumbs. I wouldn’t come back here. The view is nice, so maybe have a drink, if you must.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Wait help are very attentative. We went on Wednesday for the pasta buffet and we were not disappointed. A limited, but varied selection, included two types of pie for dessert. Excellent value and a gorgeous view of central Maui.
