For some reason surf shops in Hawaii seem to be more legit. Such as the reason here. This is a nice shop in a nice shopping center. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Don’t forget that shoes exist behind the sales counter.

Rule #1 when going on vacation in a beach environment: Try on your board shorts/​swim suit BEFORE departing on vacation.
Rule #2: If you forget, try it on when you arrive because there is the possibility that it no longer fits and you will need to go and hunt for a new one.
Well, I luckily followed rule #1 but needed to find new slippers since the ones I brought were a tad too small. Thank goodness that there was a small Quiksilver boutique in the Grand Wailea and while the store itself is rather small, it is well packed with all of the basic beach/​pool apparel you will need in a decent selection of sizes.
So in short, you can get a swimsuit to replace the one you might have outgrown or might have forgotten at home!

In contrast to the other reviewer I actually found the staff-​person to be quite friendly. This was my very first stop in Maui, because my friend had forgotten to bring his swim trunks. He sent me in to pick out a pair. I picked this place over Billabong (located in the same set of shops) because their selection was not nearly as overwhelming, and the layout of choices was nicely displayed on the wall. The employee was happy to let me take pictures of the options to send to my friend, as well as buy two sizes knowing that I’d be returning one. He even noted that if I didn’t want to come back to make the return during my vacation I could do it at any store on the mainland. (Side-​note: we did actually come back and make the return while we were still in Maui and had no problems). The shorts themselves were obviously high quality, and while not cheap, were also not ridiculously overpriced (especially since we were buying them in a tourist-​area in Hawaii).

The selection is great, prices are fair (specially when taking into account the usual ‘Hawaii surcharge’ of everything being priced higher than on the mainland). But what made this a 3 star review is their service, or lack thereof. The employees make you feel like they’re doing you a favor by letting you shop in their store.
Wake up, people!!! Billabong is right at the Shops too!!!
