This place isn’t very customer friendly, but the food is pretty good. The lady at the register has a look on her face that makes you feel like your bothering her, even if she doesn’t say it. She also doesn’t seem to have a very«aloha» spirit. When you’re on vacation, you want the relax with a smile and this lady doesn’t send a very welcoming vibe from her. I feel that if you are that upset about something, either fix it or don’t bring that attitude to work, or, better yet, do BOTH

Think this is closed now as on a recent trip, Queen’s deli wasn’t there.

One of the saltiest(grumpy) customer service I have ever seen in the 4 years I have been on the island. Boy did she hate life. We went there today to grab a quick bite to go and was feeling local food which is always good and consistent by the way at this place. However the service was terrible and you felt you were bothering the girl in front of the register when you were ordering. I would hate to have our valued visitors experience a vibe like this on their vacation. No aloha at all. Maybe she should just stay home, kick a dog, and find another job where she is not in front of people. Please don’t ruin someones Hawaiian experience with your«I hate my job» attitude.

We were looking for a cheap and quick place to eat for lunch and came across the food court in the Queen’s Mall. While we were not anticipating a high quality experience we did expect to get decent food, but this place was gross. The service was bad and the food seemed old. I got the teriyaki chicken and it was salty and fatty. It says a lot when Arby’s seemed to be the better choice in our group.

Being that we were in Hawaii and super hungry on a Friday morning, our group decided that we wanted some real local island food. I mean, here in California, our knowledge of Hawaiian food is limited to whatever is on the menu at L&L so me and a couple buddies ate here. Were we disappointed? No way! Two of us ordered loco mocos and another ordered a breakfast plate with four types of meats and a side of gravy. I don’t know what else to say about it. The food was filling and the gravy on our loco mocos was awesome. The one thing that kind of left a sour taste on my mouth was the price. I mean $ 8.50 for a loco moco? Is it because Waikoloa is a tourist trap? But then again, it seems everything on Big Island is kind of expensive. Did you know gas is like $ 4.60 a gallon over there? Anyway, I digress. The next time I’m back in Waikoloa and I have a hangover the next morning, you bet I’m stumbling my way over to Queen’s Deli for a loco moco!

Service with a grimace. We ate here twice and both times I was concerned for the people helping us as they have clearly lost their will to live. Customer service is definitely not their priority or even a consideration. As for the food, the first time was great, which more then made up for the scowl at check out. I had the teriyaki chicken and my wife had the chicken katsu. Both were extremely tasty so we decided to go there for breakfast. Yeah, not so much. We both ordered the pancakes and after fifteen minutes, Darth Vader called us up for pick up. After fifteen minutes one would expect the pancakes to be cooked but apparently that is an unrealistic expectation. They were damn near raw.

If you get the craving for Fried Chicken, this is where to go. Price is super affordable too.

«The Plate Lunch Ultimatum» Pretty average plate lunch place that I think skates by on mediocrity because there are no other«local» options on the resort. Not very flexible on their combination options(we asked) and the food we got was just meh… Both the chicken combination(katsu and teri) and loco moco were just passable. Mac salad was over-mayonnaised. All in all, I’d say it was a couple notches below L&L. It’ll do if you’re hankering for some plate lunch grub but I would try some of the other food court fare otherwise.

Queen’s Deli is a window in a mall. It’s an outside mall, but the food court is inside and air conditioned. My 11 year old loves chicken terriyaki and she thought it was the best chicken terriyaki she had on the Big Island. She got the mini chicken terriyaki and it came out hot and fresh with a scoop of rice and macaroni salad. She thought it all tasted great. I had the bbq mix plate and the chicen terriyaki was the best part. The flavor was good. The other meat was not as flavorful and a bit dry. My son had the fried chicken and it was fresh fried chicken. The hubby got the kalua pork and it was boring. We tried the pizza place in the food court too, but the food was much better at Queen’s Deli.

If you are in Waikaloa, this is a solid breakfast alternative. Get the Portuguese Sausage plate for sure, a Hawaii-only treat/delicacy. It’s pretty inexpensive to boot. We ate there twice and the service around 8AM was quick and there was plentiful seating shared with the rest of the food court. Definitely recommended if you don’t want to break your wallet at the resorts! I’d definitely recommend getting your plate then heading out to the mall promenade and eating in the sun! It’s why you came to Hawai’i, right?

Got breakfast here, had the Portuguese Sausage plate with scrambled eggs and rice. No special flavor, but once I chopped up everything so it mixed up, it was ok. Ordered French toast with bacon for my daughters, and they enjoyed it. The toast is made from Hawaiian-style bread and was quite tasty. The bacon was very sweet, with a nice flavor. I wouldn’t mind trying something else here, but it was a bit plain.

If you’re in Waikoloa and Hawaiian breakfast plates is your fancy then you’ve found your homebase. I went with the portuguese sausage, very yum. Other options include spam and bacon. They also have spam sandwiches haha. This place is located in the Waikoloa village so its an easy walk or jog from any of the resorts there. They open at 7am for breakfast which is great, and also have more of the other common hawaiian lunch items like loco moco etc

If you want good local Hawaiian food, don’t want to spend too much money, and you’re staying in Waikoloa, this place is for you! Get the BBQ mix plate and you can try the BBQ beef, chicken, and pork– it comes with rice and macaroni salad, all stuff that kids and adults like. I also get the spam masubi since that’s just a local must have. We have also had saimin here. The service is great. Yes, you’re eating in a food court but you’re paying 50% or more less than you would elsewhere. You can also gt to go and enjoy the views from your own hotel room.

Great food. Katsu is not too thick, not too thin, not greasy. Kalbi is a little fatty but tender and flavorful. Garlic shrimp is nearly as good as the famous shrimp truck of north shore Oahu. And most importantly, the rice was fluffy and a little starchy like it should be. Quick tip for the owners: get a better sign and a menu that shows pictures of the food… Key for the tourists that go here. Oh yeah, a more professional looking condiment area would be nice.

In the food court area and serves breakfast from $ 5 — $ 8, no frills. There are not a lot of options in the Waikoloa area especially for breakfast under $ 20 as most hotels overcharge for a simple meal. Good for a stop before going sightseeing.
