Update: this location is now closed I hear… tood bad. But they have another location in Kona I believe. Here was my review of the one in Waikoloan back in Nov 2010: The Waikoloa location of Blazin Steaks is located in a very high-end resort area, so it was very nice to be paying less than 10 bucks for a large plate of food so close to where we were staying. The steak platter is only like 6 bucks! However, you do kind of get what you pay for, meaning the steaks are not the best cuts of beef, they are all cooked the same way(medium to medium well, on a grill) and really don’t have much flavor… UNTIL you add the deliciously addictive korean bbq sauce. It’s located in squeeze bottles right by the counter, and you can squirt some on your plate or into a little take out container. It tastes like sweet-soy-sesame, pretty much what makes korean bbq taste so good. So anything you put in this sauce will be good. I saved some of the leftover sauce to dip other things in I had during the week… even Spam! LOL The shrimp are surprisingly large. And the people behind the counter were nice although cooking can be a bit slow. We were behind some large group that ordered like 20 different combination platters of steak/chicken/shrimp. One of them took our steak and shrimp platter by mistake, and we although we waited like 25 minutes, we were left with a cold steak order. The kind people totally rectified that by giving us a brand new piping hot steak and shrimp, and adding an extra order of shrimp. They let us keep the other platter too. Yay! More stuff to dip into their yummy korean bbq sauce! There is plenty of seating both upstairs and downstairs and during the day, there is also an ice cream place that is open inside. By far, one of our cheapest meals on the Big Island :)

I ate at this place twice on back to back nights during my trip the Big Island and when I’m on vaca one thing I don’t like to do is eat at the same restaurant twice. Value This place is bang for your buck. $ 6 box plate for steak or chicken or fish, $ 7 for a combo of the 2. I will say that on my first trip I had the chicken and fish, which was OKAY. Being more truthful, i wasnt very happy with the chicken, the fish was a little better. At the end of the day i was happy i was full. However on the 2nd trip the steak made me seriously consider going back for a 3rd trip. Here it is sweet, short and simple. You’re not gonna find a better steak meal(comes with salad and steamed white rice) anywhere on the island than at Blazin Steaks. I was very surprised the quality, the flavor of this $ 6 steak. I compare the steak; the cut, the juiciness, the flavor to a high end cut that someone would make at their house. Very delicious! A true value

MEAT= nasty FISH= blah(for Hawaii? so blah!) SAUCES= do I need to continue I agree, this is pretty inexpensive to Roy’s and surrounding restos(apples and oranges, I know) BUT come on its hard to f*cK up Hibachi Style meat and seafood. I would rather spend my 10 bucks on the food court located at the Queen’s shops. Nuff said.

I was a loyal fan and would visit here once a week. The past few times I’ve gone the service was slow in spite of there being only 5 customers. Last week I waited an hour for my meal. When I went to ask if my order was up, the guy behind the counter was rude to me and told that they had run out of rice… no apology, nothing. How hard can it possibly be to keep stock of the rice and make a new pot? If they had let me know that my order would be up shortly and apologized for the delay, I would have been cool with that. Once again there were only 6 people in there. It’s ridiculous! I will not be going back.

Don’t be fooled by the shabby interior. The food here is really good for what you’re paying. The chicken is flavorful and smoky. The steak came out perfect, and even the fish was impressive. The flavor options offer enough variety for at least a few trips and can satisfy most tastes. I’m giving 4 stars based on food quality and value. The atmosphere needs some work as it is mostly a big empty restaurant that looks as if it is being renovated. It fits since the place is obviously making no attempt at fine dining. Overall, Blazin Steaks is an oasis of inexpensive, tasty food in a desert of overpriced tourist fare.

Blazin steaks = blazin HOT. I was looking for a casual dinner to cool off from the beach/pool day. My husband was looking for some grub that would fit in our budget for the last day of vacation. He definitely got what he wanted($ 12 even for 2 meals) and I did not. First impression, no A/C(and it needed it!), the service was downright weird. Food was meat, rice, and lettuce served in a styrofoam box. This might be just what you are looking for — but for me it was not. However, it was the cheapest meal we had for a 10 day vacation(cheaper than burger king) and was walking distance from our hotel. If you’re starving and you just want food, fast — I’d go here.

I agree with other Unilocalers that this is the best eatery nearby all of the resorts in Waikioloa village. It is cheap, indoors, and have great menus. We went there for lunch and had combinations plates(steak & shrimp /chicken & fish) — all four meat was fabulous. While they ask you to choose the sauces to put on top of each meat, you can also get those sauces at the station so I suggest that you get the meat plain and dip(or pour) the sauces on top of the meats so you try all of the sauce/meat combinations. Plus, they served fresh chopped salad with the meats, which was perfect as I was getting tired of the macroni salad. It is located in the middle of King’s Shops in Waikiola Village. Unfortuantely for us, we didn’t look into the King side carefully as it seemed like full of expensive brand stores. As a result, we didn’t find Blazin Steaks until the last day and only got to eat here once for lunch. It had a breakfast menu on the door when we walked in, although we didn’t have a chance to try.

Wow! Great food w cheap price. Where else can you get steak & shrimps(5) for $ 8. Best deal on the island! What puts this place over the top for me is the self serve sauce station! Korean bbq sauce rocks! No need to pay tips & they take credit cards.

Wow! This place is the best deal for the money in the entire Waikoloa Beach Resort. $ 6 gets you choice of steak, chicken, or fish, 2 scoops of rice and a green(ish) salad. They have a nice dining location with lots of tables. Definately nothing fancy, but a great value and pretty darn tasty.
