Not the best service, super slow, not real friendly, and who knows what they really end up charing you for… all that said my husband loves the food. Good food is hard to find, sometimes you have to deal with everything else

Good food, good price, good service. Shrimp burger(comes with 2 burgers!), Cajun fries and spicy ahi bowl… Yum. Will definitely return!

I ordered combo #5. Sauces was good and lobster was fresh. I was disappointed however, my order was supposed to come with dungeness crab. But When I got home to look at my take out order, I realized there was no crab!!! A gentlemen had contacted me and apparently there was some sort of miscommunication.

I would like to thank keoni and the management staff for responding to my Unilocal review and making things right. My family and I will continue to go back for more of their delicious food.

Da Crawfish and Crab Shack in my opinion is a good local restaurant. The environment in the restaurant was nice with a view of the ocean and many tables for people to sit. I thought the food was outstanding and I recommend getting a combo if you have a big party because it is enough to share with the entire family and fills your appetite. The reason I didn’t give the restaurant 5 stars is because of the service. Although the waiters were really kind, we didn’t receive our food very quickly and some of them weren’t really doing their job and had conversations with each other. I think if the waiters paid more attention to their tables, the service would be a lot better. Once this restaurant figures out their service issues, everyone will want to come to Da Crawfish and Crab Shack

Awesome find. As a person that has experienced many a crawfish boil in Texas, this place did not disappoint. We started with the calamari and I can honestly say it was a great start. Even our 3-year-old was reaching out to grab her own(that never happens with any food other than fries)! We had a pound of crawfish and Combo #1. Maaaan! My only con is the mild is well… really mild. Only reason I got it was because the wife said so. Other than that, the effort to remove shells off the crawfish, shrimp, snow crablegs was minimal. The staff was extremely friendly and felt like we were at a friend’s house. The joint was also upgraded and clean. We will eat there again.

After being quickly seated and placing our order. About 5 minutes later, relatively quickly our daughter got her juice. After 25 minutes of not getting our heinekens my wife went to the bar to get our beers. They sent them over a few minutes later. 28 minutes after being sat we got our beer. The Cajun fries were good. My spicy crawfish were good. They were out of Dungeness crab so we got boil #4, which was good, but we had to ask for napkins as we had none, then we had to ask for a bucket for our shells which she brought, then my wife asked for a cracker because we couldn’t break into the crab. It was beautiful giant pieces of snow crab. But not crack able by hand and since she told us «we ran out of crackers», and gave us a poker, we couldn’t get all the crab meat out. Pretty crummy. The salt and pepper prawns were good too. Over all the food was 4 or 4.5 stars. I’d give the service a 1. We won’t go back. The food was great but overall the experience sucked. I will admit the spicy boil was amazing. If we lived on the island we would probably wait a while and try it again. If you like spicy well cooked seafood and can tolerate crappy service, the place is perfect. If you require attentive service, go else where.

This review is for the new Kapolei location which we visited on their 2nd day of opening. We had high expectations as the reviews for Maili are favorable. Unfortunately, it was t less than stellar and even quite dissapointing. First, very unorganized operation. No assigned server for each table or section. Multiple servers constantly asking us if our order was taken even after it was. Server wasn’t sure of what flavors of soda were available as the Coke machine was just installed. Ran out of Dungeness Crab on a Friday during lunch? What are you going to serve the rest of the day? Order taken, and took almost 35 mins for our food to arrive. Our waitress, who was very sweet and understanding, did apologize for the extended wait and thanked us for our patience. We inquired if it would be possible to at least send us our order of Cajun fries first and just bring out food as it is ready thereafter. We took our time with the fries as it arrived within 5 mins(normal timing). Another 15 mins passed when we finally got our order. As we waited, we observed the operations and could not help but noticed a couple servers chewing gum while working. One had very nice manicure, but noticed the«bling» on her fingertips, and I don’t know about you, I would be worried if these would ever fall off into your food. It seemed that there was a new hire girl who changed out into a new uniform, but she was holding onto her Starbucks drink most of the time while working. Surprised she only worked about 30 mins and then left, then again, she was wearing sandals. Food was pretty good when we finally got it, in fact quite tasty. Over priced Cajun fries with such a small portion. Decent seafood mix and the best was the side order of mushrooms. Although, I understand its the second day of a soft opening, one would believe that you have your strongest team representing and ready to tackle a busy shift. With 2 servers and 2 floor managers working, there was no signs of organization. Servers should be assigned sections and not everybody roving around hopping tables. I don’t need 3 different servers asking me if my order was taken. Also, I don’t need to be served someone else’s refilled soda. No host, no busboy. Biggest dissapointment, no apologies from Management. Even bigger dissapointment; we received our order before the family of 7 that was seated before we arrived; and they had kids. Now, being in the restaurant business for over 20 years, it was very heart breaking to observe all of this going on. I truly hope that this place gets their act together fast. I cheer for them as the Staff seem very genuine and would like any new business to succeed especially after all the good reputation they have earned already for their Maili location. Will not be coming back anytime soon in hopes they can fix things. Attention, Da Crawfish and Crab Shack… Kapolei is a Gem… don’t waste this opportunity. Enjoy…

Delicious food at a decent price. Drinks are awesomely cheap and the restaurant is right across the beach, so there’s a pretty nice view.

Definitely a shack, but GREAT food. Wait staff was really nice. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food given. I’d definitely recommend getting a bucket special if you like variety.

Deep fried, nasty, expensive … Ordered garlic mushrooms– were over cooked and I love garlic but sooooooooo garlicky I could not eat! No problems at all with a refund so left hungry. Nice view though !

This place was amazing! We love the Cajun sauce. Probably the best place we are in the area. The only weird thing was the hours didn’t always followed what was posted. So it was hit or miss if they were open. Great food!

The seafood is fresh and pretty good. I ordered spicy sauce and got garlic instead. Since we were the only customers at the time, I’m not sure how they got the order wrong :/ The tables were not comfortable. The bar was not built to the right proportion so you need a really long torso to sit and have a drink. Lol.

Tip… Our favorite spot to watch the sunset! Sitting inside or on the lanai you are sure to have a good seat for viewing. Check for daily drink specials! This is the spot on the West-side for fresh quality seafood! The sardine pupu with onions and tomatoes is killah! Order the steamed shrimp with butter on the side. The butter tends to be too sweet for me. Or not! They also have a prime rib special. you can’t beat the price! Overall the staff and bartender are very friendly and attentive. The drinks are generous and the daily drink specials are great!

After a great day at the beach I was craving some crabs :) This place hit the spot for sure. There’s a couple of restaurants that share the parking lot so parking can be tight and hard to find. The crab shack is located upstairs. It’s a huge spot with big screen tv’s and I heard they even have live music here sometimes. Don’t take my word on that though. The service was quick, friendly, and helped guide us through the menu since it was my first time there. Great job guys. The portions are huge and very flavorful. I ordered combo #1 that was $ 40. I didn’t want any clams so I was able to sub it out for more shrimp. Yum! I think that was a $ 3 upcharge to substitute. I’m not 100% sure since it wasn’t clear on the bill. The only thing I didn’t really care for was a Cosmo that I ordered. It had too much lime juice in it. It’s not the worst Cosmo I’ve ever had, but less lime juice would’ve been a huge improvement. A plus though was that it was only $ 7. Not bad at all for a martini. However, I should’ve probably stuck to beer considering it was a crab shack. All in all it was a good experience. I will be back.

Just threw a baby shower here for one of our good friends. It was my first time here and they had awesome food! So happy that we made it here and the food was absolutely worth it! Our waitress was also good and checked up on us and always kept a drink in our hand :). Can’t wait to go back.

Any place that gives you an excuse to eat with your hands is a place you have to be! I’ve been here several times for fundraisers but had just recently came here specifically to try their food. So I’ll keep it to the grub. I have to say I’m a big fan of another crab boil place in town that I wont mention by name, since Da Crawfish and Crab Shake is near my place, it was time to give it a try. We walked in and their credit card machine wasn’t working. No ATM in the building so we left to hunt down an ATM. We got back, got a table(we were the only ones eating) really quick as the place was empty except for the outside lanai area where some patrons were drinking. As we were seated we were told the kitchen closed in half an hour. We lost 10 minutes getting to an ATM. I ordered the sauteed mushroom as an appetizer. I have to say, it was the best sauteed mushrooms I have had! Mushrooms tend to hold water and it may taste a bit watered down but this one was perfect, tasty, tender and covered with parmesan. As for the main course, I ordered a pound of clams and two pounds of crawfish with garlic butter and of course had it spicy. It also came with corn on the cob and two pieces of sausage. I was a bit disappointed. It could have been me comparing it to the other spot but I expect to have each bite to have a juicy, succulent taste and have the flavor last until the juices were drained. The flavor seemed lacking. I wanted more… more, more of something. I got to try their shrimp scampi and that was great! Buttery full flavor and perfectly cooked. The drinks were very good and complimented the food well. I will be back, maybe to try their nightly special. Side note, my leftovers did taste better the next day. I was pleasantly happy.

I’m sorry but Crawfish & Louisiana style seafood restaurants in California, Texas & Louisiana blows this place out of the water. Combo #2(Cajun seasoning): D Crawfish was frozen & tasted just gross. Sauce & seasoning was extinct(or maybe they forgot to put it in?) Clams were pitiful & anorexic. Lobster was ok but a bit overcooked. They had ran out oysters & we were really looking forward to having them. So was the other table next to us, they left right after they heard that there’s no oysters available. Boo =(-1 Service: C– Slow, we were standing in the middle of the room trying to look for somebody to help us out, took them awhile to scrambling to get us a table. It also took them a long time to get our check & card back. They really need more & experienced staff working here on the weekends to help handle the crowds. Décor & atmosphere: B Seems like this place was recently renovated on the inside but the stairs coming up to this place needs to be renovated also. Atmosphere here is casual, relaxed crowd with a big bar area & flat TV screens in different corners of this place.

We got there and felt a tad out of place but quickly got comfortable as we took our seats. They were out of oysters, out of lil smokies and no tap beer, needless to say it was not a good start. My first impression was, «Wow, did Unilocal steer me wrong on this one?». Well, the answer is Absolutely Not!!! This place was awesome, the crab pot or crab boil depending on what you want to call it was AMAZING!!! This was everyone’s favorite meal of our entire vacation. We got the Combo #5 with King Crab Legs, Clams, Shrimp, Lobster, Andoulie Sausage, Corn and Scallops. When it comes out you are in awe at the size and amount of delicious Seafood that awaits you. It was a huge amount of food. It easily fed 5 of us and we are no slouches when it comes to chowing down. We went with the Garlic Butter sauce and everyone was more than pleased with the flavor, if you were at home it would be tempting to lick the bowl, no joke… I love this style of eating and everyone was craving Seafood, Da Crawfish and Crab Shack,(AKA Maili Sunset Bar) did not disappoint. My favorite was the King Crab Legs, obviously crab is amazing and when served in the mouth watering Garlic Butter it is even better. We ventured from Ko Olina and hopefully those looking for an alternative from high priced resort food make it out here too. The view is great, the atmosphere is fun and the food is wonderful.
