Last night I had the privileged of going to get food from a food truck that I’ve learned about on Sunday during a conversation with my niece and her girlfriend. Apparently Cory Simon knew about it and didn’t share this good news about KAPAKAHIGRINDZ. Since he forgot to tell me about this AWESOME food truck, Cory treated me last night when we went to purchase food from it. Aside from that, the food is ONPOINT, AWESOME, DELICIOUS, ORGASMIC, etc. Whatever term you use for AWESOMETASTING food does not begin to describe the flavor of the food from KAPAKAHIGRINDZ. I could not stop eating the pastele lumpias as soon as Char handed the bag to me. And then there was(noticed I said WAS) the Ahi Katsu, Poke Nachos, and the Poke Fries. I was in FOODHEAVEN. For those of you that know me, I can throw down some food, but last night I had the hardest time deciding what to eat because the food was just THATAWESOME. The most expensive plate was the Ahi Katsu($ 12) and if you see the picture of the plate you’ll understand why. It is better than the chicken katsu. BIGSHOUTOUT to the owners whom I met last night. Keep doing what you’re doing. I would mention you by name but Cory and my niece Ree are not answering their cell phones this morning. Lol. Did I mention that one of them is a singer for Isle 5? AWESOME!!! Lastly, although the food may not be for everybody and there always be critics, I want to say that as a see-food lover, it will be a difficult choice to select what to order. Finally heard back from Ree and Cory, FA’AFETAITELELAVA Chan(the OWNER and the AWESOMECOOK) and Char(assistant cook, customer service representative, and a singer with Isle 5).

Thought I left a review but it didn’t work. My pasteles are totally burnt. Unedible. I’m really sad I wasted $ 11.

I’ve had multiple thing from this truck. The first time I found them I loved it. Would have been 5 Stars. Went to 2nds @ Leilehua last night– just to eat at the truck and was really disappointed. Expensive and portion was a lot smaller than the first time I stopped by the truck. Spicy ahi hardly had any flavor. Oh well, lesson learned.

This food truck is just downright amazing! Everything made here is gold and heaven in your mouth. If you’re being indecisive, just randomly pick something! You can’t go wrong with anything you pick. I’ve personally tried almost everything… the pastele, pastele stew, pastele nachos, tripe stew, stew luau, New York steak, poke nachos, pastele fries, and the smoked meat. None of them failed to make my taste buds sing! If you don’t live anywhere close, it’s definitely worth the drive. I also almost forgot to mention that the portion sizes are great for the price of the plate. Talk about LOADED! Also, don’t waste any time… They accept both cash AND card. Their service should be rated 10 stars. I witnessed someone put in a phone order, but when they arrived, they made it fresh(only because it was fries) so that they don’t get it soggy. And before I forget to mention– the workers always have genuine smiles on and it shows that they love what they do. The food is made with love… Can’t go wrong with that… Follow the truck on Instagram. They also cater and post their specials there.

I absolutely love Kapakahi Grindz! They have a very diverse and innovative menu while keeping their best sellers and local favorites available. My favorites are the Pasteles, Poke Fries and Smoked Meat which makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Mmmmm so ONO!!! But most of my friends really like the Ahi Katsu, New York Steak, and the Original Pastele Nachos. The price for the amount of food I get is a great deal and the service is on point as it’s a family run organization. If you haven’t tried it yet… you gotta! Follow them on Instagram cuz that’s where the Chef updates followers on the menu and hours of operation. And make sure you tip them for their good looks. I heard they give royal treatment to the loyal customers. #RoyalForTheLoyal

Pastelle stew flavor was good, unfortunately I couldn’t really taste it through all the grease. Gandule rice also needed more flavor.

I tried their food for the first time and loved it. They are literally located on the next street over from where I live which is convenient. Their poke fries and Ahi Katsu is so delicious. I am definitely going to try other things on their menu because everything looks and sounds good.;))

When coming into whitmore only place to eat was always manapua man and merlina kitchen. But, now local food truck kapakahi grindz hands down is a must when it’s open. Variety of different culture food and it never disappoints me. The owner is cool as shit and hook your plate up. Worth the drive and the prices ain’t bad at all. The steak and dynamite chicken is bomb. Poke is good and soft, mouth watering.. Known also for the pastele things. Open for catering too. Check her up promise you won’t be disappointed !!
