Big Chix Rotisserie & Fryer

Big Chix Rotisserie & Fryer is a quiet establishment located along the back road of Schofield Baracks slightly away from Wahiawa. This place sell rotisserie chicken and «cooked to order» fried chicken.
I was lucky enough to have come across Unilocal’s check-​in deal of 6 chicken wings with one side for $ 6 plus tax. I elected for the rice as a side and Honey BBQ as the sauce the wings were tossed in.
Because the wings were cooked to order, they were all nicely crisped and hot. The sauce, however, did not have a BBQ taste to it. It tasted more of an undertone of Buffalo wings sauce, but with slight sweetness. I did not dislike the sauce, but the taste versus its name did confuse me.
My over all experience – ordering, waiting for the order, eating, and watching the two large flat screen TVs playing different movies – was pleasant and fit for a Saturday lunch.

One word: DELICIOUS
BLUF: great customer service, affordable and worth the price for the portion size, they deliver for a surcharge, full of flavor but chicken can be a little dry.
There is lots of free parking in the back just be careful not to miss that turn at the stop sign! Decided to try em out for the first time after passing them on my commute every single day. Was not disappointed at all! They give large pieces of chicken, the chicken wings were a generous size in comparison to other places like BWW or KFC, and their sweet tea hits the spot.
Flavor and texture can be a hit or miss if you wait too long to eat your food. Parmesean fries though… one of the good ones on the island.

Unimpressed. Im all for supporting new/​small businesses, but very unfriendly cashiers… Seriously. We ordered the fried chick baked beans and cajun fries. The beans were great. Chicken was dry super greasy and bland. the fries were nothing to brag about either. First and last time we’ll order from here.

Their fried chix n sides are delicious HANDS DOWN!!! But they could work on their customer service skills and get down on their knees and do alittle spring cleaning. Seriously the chairs n tables are very very sticky and too top it off there were little black bugs flying around.
My suggestion a week to do SPRING CLEANING from top to bottom n maybe put alittle fresh paint on the walls…
I don’t think i can recommend eating here to my friends n family till they get rid of the black bugs flying n clean the tables n chairs…

We ordered picked up took 15min– both the fried and rotisserie were juicy and well seasoned-​fried chix was very cripsy. Ordered the cajun crinkle fries, mac salad, and cole slaw. Fries were slightly crunchy, cole slaw was delicious, comes with dried cranberries and was lightly dressed. Mac salad was ok. Regular sides are about 2−3oz. We will order again because of the connivence of the location and the food is good.

Pros: Prices are compareable to KFC. Food is good. Service is good and timely.
Cons: If you eat there, its paper plates and plastic utensils. Sides are a bit small. Dining area décor is backyard furniture. Dining area needs some cleaning. Some ceiling tiles need to be changed also. No restroom for patrons.

I have been driving past this place forever, and finally decided to stop in an eat. There is a lot of free parking. I ordered the fried chicken meal, with a drink. The chicken was delicious and all the sides were good as well. I will stop here again.

Two stars because they have AWFUL customer service. Seriously it’s awful. We arrived about 15 minutes before opening and when they did open we didn’t get a friendly hello by any means. We stood there for a couple minutes before we even had our order taken and only to find out the rotisserie isn’t even ready when they open and it takes an an hour and a half to even be useable. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t come in the hour and a half earlier to make sure you can use the rotisserie since that’s half the menu. Since we already waited we went ahead and ordered other things. Chicken strips, honey bbq wings, fries and potato wedges. We didn’t receive our drinks until our food came. (Which may not be a big deal unless you have a two year old like me asking for her drink over and over.) The food was awesome. If you can overlook absolutely terrible customer service then it’s actually pretty decent.

Building — parking available in lot beyond it. There is no fancy décor cause it’s all about the chicken. Sadly no rotisserie available today cause the machine broke. We were happily willing to try there fried chicken. We also tried the fried fish. Baked beans were typical. Cole slaw interesting because never had raisins in it. Potato wedges and crinkle fries with Parmesan tasty. The chicken was tasty and moist. No redness so cooked very well. If your in the area and got cravings for some good olé fried chicken this is the spot.

Excellent chicken! So juicy and fresh. Sweet tea quenches the thirst like no other. Owner is friendly and helpful. Will visit again and again. Right outside schofield. Excellent for lunch

DH and I are visiting island for a month & craving some good fried chicken & sweet tea. Sorry — this is what living in the South does to your taste buds. I had read the reviews on Big Chix in Wahiawa.. .so we headed out from the west side of island mind you, for a late lunch. We were not disappointed. It not a big place — but maybe had 6 – 8 tables. Chicken was spot on and sides were plenty. I had the two piece meal with two sides. DH had the 2 piece (all white meat) with two sides. We both had potatoe wedges, I had slaw and he had baked beans. They were both tasty. Chicken was fresh, hot & juicy. I would definitely recommend!

Their Chicken Tenders are seasoned extremely well !!! I’ve had their potato wedges as well… they came out a little too crispy once… but the other times… they were good also. I definitely recommend this place !

Had their sweet & spicey not «JUMBO» wings! The sauce reminded me of a tangy Ragu spaghetti sauce. There was so much oregano, forgot I was eating chicken wings. More like chicken parmigiana on bones. The crinkle fries were cold not crunchy.
The chicken tenders were pretty decent.

We love there beans and chicken. The food is great! There potato wedges are yummy. A lot of chicken. A lot of left overs to brings home.

We tried delivery in Royal Kunia tonight for the first time. Called at 7, they warned me they were busy and delivery would be around 8:15, which was fine. The food came hot, on time estimated. Awesome tasting rotisserie chicken, very juicy and delicious flavor. The wings blew us away, we tried the garlic parmesan wings and they were the best thing we ordered. We liked the side dishes too (green bean salad, potato wedges, and coleslaw. Great dinner — so glad we tried them!

Amazingly delicious besides it being overly priced with a minimum of $ 25 for delivery and adding on the surcharge and the hour wait. Everything else was delicious. Received my food still steaming hot and amazingly was not greasy nor was my potato wedges soggy. The most delicious part of my order was the coleslaw, my entires life I was not really a coleslaw type of person. But the coleslaw here had that sweet after taste (but that’s just me and my taste buds.) I’ll definitely order from them again but I’ll go to them instead of having it delivered lol

Saw the special on Unilocal and decided to check it out for lunch. Offer: 6 JUMBO wings and a side for $ 6. The wings was very tasty with crunchy outside and moist meat inside. Perfectly cooked with tasty sauce of your choice. The problem is the word JUMBO!!! The wings was small and I walked out still hungry. I think the regular price on the menu has the 6 «JUMBO» wings for $ 9.99. You will be disappointed if the wings you get is the same size. And you still gotta buy your side dishes.

I was a little skeptical at first to order from here only because I don’t know too many people that tried this place yet. However, a friend of mine recommended it so we placed a delivery order. The girl on the phone was friendly and the guy who delivered was very nice. I didn’t realize until we were done having dinner that I ordered 15 min before closing. Usually employees are grouchy and sound irritated when they’re almost closing and customers order late but they were really nice.
We ordered the half rotisserie chicken meal and the 5oz prime rib hoagie with Cajun fries. My other half didn’t want the white meat because he thought it would be dry. But he was wrong. It’s pretty moist for white meat and the chicken was tasty. Our hoagie was good as well as the fries.
Delivery time was awesome. A lot faster than pizza deliveries. I called at 7:45pm and we received our food at 8:30pm and we live in Mililani.
I highly recommend this place when wanting food delivered to your home. Way better than ordering pizza.
I have yet to try their fried chicken. That will probably be next. Good job Big Chix.
