Great burgers, good portions and price. Small bar atmosphere, great wait staff. Will definitely be back.

Dark. Smelly. Greasy. The bathrooms were disgusting. The food was poor quality even for bar food. We brought 7 people and they did not have a single table. We could not get help from a staffer to help us. I really felt that the food was way below average. Burgers, wraps, and pizza were all sub standard.

So Far not impressed. Bartender had no idea how to make a old fashioned or a manhattan. We arrived at 6:00, ordered drinks and food at 6:15 pm. People arriving after us have their food and done with their meals. The one bartender when asked made it seem like It is my fault that after an hour we still do not have our food. Asked about it and they do not know where our food is and they will have to remake it. It was my fault that I am asking about our order and where Our food was. Really??? Sorry to ask a question and be a little discouraged that the other guests all have been served that arrived way after we did. And then to be made to feel like I cannot be concerned as to where our order is again wow. I could see if I was being rude but not sure why i have been treated this way by this particular person on the staff. As for the food i was told to order a burger and I went with the grilled chicken California style and tots. Disappointing dried out flavorless chicken along with the dried out crumbling bun. Salt could not even help which is something i never do with my food. Should be used in the cooking of a protein and if done right not needed by the guest. As for the cheese curds they are nothing special. Typical bar/pub brand. The chicken tenders were moist and fine flavor profile and the honey mustard was the bomb. In hindsight I should have put the honey mustard on my sandwich to rescue it. The food gets a 2 ½ and the service gets a 2 due to the persons attitude towards myself. The other youngest looking bartender was very helpful, pleasant and helpful and gets a 4.

Good overall experience. Burgers were good, huge portions. A bit pricey and service was OK. The zesty sauce was really good with tots — but the up charge for sides other than chips is why we decided on three stars.

Was suggested to go here for bar food by a local and wasn’t disappointed. Good wraps and well priced drinks. Plenty of televisions set up to keep you entertained.

Our favorite dive bar. Hoppers is hoppin’! Best place for burgers in town. Multiple bartenders on staff weekends who are fun and friendly. DJ on weekends. Ringo(Bingo) Wednesday nights. Karaōke Thursday’s. Pool and darts. It’s the place to be late in the evening where people are usually hitting the dance floor. Open til 2:00. Sunday Bloody Mary’s are the best!

Terrible food, gross bar, clueless staff. No reason to exist. I laughed out loud when I read other reviews for this place after a recent visit. «Best burgers in the Twin Cities», «Great food». What?! Apparently these people have standards similar to those who consider gas station food to be culinary perfection. The food — is terrible. I ordered what anyone should order at a hometown bar, a bacon cheeseburger(hickory) and added cheese curds to the side. I also picked up one of about 10 tap beers — Surly Furious(1 star earned here). The waitress didn’t how we wanted our burgers done, which is clearly because the only option they have is extremely overcooked and oversalted. The meat was dry, flavorless(beyond salt), and had terrible texture. The«cook» either wrecked it on the flattop or the meat was too old to even salvage(probably both). My burger came with bacon, and it was the most overcooked burnt bacon I’ve ever been served. It reminded me of the«bacon» that I give to my dog from a package for dogs. It was burnt to an absolute stiff crisp and hard to even bite on. The worst part though, was the cheese curds. Being that we are in the state that gives you some of the best deep fried objects on the planet at the State Fair — I have high standards when it comes to deep fried cheese curds. Regardless of my standards, the cheese curds were so disgusting I don’t know why they even serve them. The breading was overly thick, the cheese didn’t taste much like cheese, and the complete package was so salty and oily that all you wanted was to drink a gallon of water after each bite. Fail all around. There is no reason to eat here. The bar itself is clearly a dive bar. Main lighting is provided by a pool table light and about a dozen 27″ LCD tvs. The bathroom area looks like someone who typically builds ice fishing houses came in to do the finish work. The bathroom area is lit by rope lighting, then finished with 12“x12″ slate tiles, and to top it off they have«Maxim» magazine girls hanging in front of the bathroom stall. So much for a family place. The bar tables are made of plywood and indoor outdoor carpeting. When we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday night during the Big10 championship game — they didn’t have the game on nor did they even know how to change the channel to put it on. They ended up figuring it out after about 10mins. Instead of having audio playing throughout the bar of a sports game, it sounded to me like«Dateline 20÷20» or «Unsolved Mysteries» audio. I asked the waitress if she could change the audio so she thankfully did after a laugh or two. Overall, I suppose this place stays in business because the people of Waconia don’t care about quality dining or drinking establishments(clearly shown by the other reviews here). Myself — I will not be back for any reason ever. Try much better eating in Waconia(Lolas) or drinking(Waconia Brewing Company) and leave this place alone.

Burgers are huge but middle of the road. Nothing about this place would make me drive from out of town to try it. Wait staff was rude, dressed like slugs and on top of it all there was a birthday party for a Steven so we had the pleasure of listening to the F bombs while eating. My kids sure enjoyed that. Not sure if we will go back.

I’ve been to this place twice, once for beers at night with the girls and another time in the afternoon with my husband for beers and burgers. This place is a dive bar, which I like but just so you know that going in. I’ve long heard about their burgers so my husband and I thought we’d try them for lunch one afternoon. Their burgers were good, the ones we had were a little dry but were still good. So they definitely have good burgers and it’s a good dive bar for a beer and burgers!

Located in downtown Waconia. Parking is a breeze. Good food at a good price. Service is always friendly. This place is hoppin’ on the weekends. Fun music, they even make way for a dance floor area. Usually plenty of seating or standing areas available. Out door patio for smokers though I’m sure it would be nice to sit out there during the spring and summer months.

In need of a burger? Look no further. The burgers here are better than offerings from many burger joints! I always get great service, and a warm welcome.

What? A bar and grill that allows sunlight inside? yup We stopped in here on our way through the area and glad we did. Plenty seating, lots of TVs all with sporting events so I’m gonna say they are shooting for sports bar and grill. My wife scared it would be uncomfortable being a bar and she said it was very nice — so there ya go! I believe in her words…“very comfortable“ We had fish&chips a bacon blue burger with fries and onion rings. Fish was flirting with the greasy side but just missed it… came out piping hot and tasted good. The burger was second to none. Now for something pretty cool, It’s the home of the«Belt Buster Challenge»! *insert evil Darth Vader laugh* Belt Buster Challenge gives you 1 hour to consume(2) Double bacon cheese burgers and fries. eat it all and you eat for free… wait here’s the exciting part… These two burgers are made with ½ pound patties! That’s right,(4) ½ pound patties…2 pounds of meat in these two burgers! You gotta stop and try this one if you’re in the area.

We had heard that Hopper’s had great burgers so this weekend we stopped by for lunch. I was surprised that on such a nice day it was packed for lunch. After we dug into our burger, fries and onion rings I understood why so many people were there. The burgers we delicious, fries and onion rinds were also top shelf. This is an unassuming spot perfect to catch the game, a burger and beer. Everything we had heard about Hopper’s was spot on.

It’s a bar. It has burgers and beer. If you haven’t had a burger there, you are only cheating yourself. Forget about all those«we have cheese in the middle so it burns your face off and isn’t really that tasty» places. Go to Hopper’s and get a burger. Seriously. Do it.

Was in Waconia with Mom, she is in her 70s and wanted to go back to her birth home– I am a life long Californian. She had not been back since 1961. While getting a coffee, I asked the locals where a good place to eat was, they suggested Hoppers for the burgers. On the return visit, a couple of days later, we went there and had a ‘glen burger’. It was awesome, mom said it was the best she ever had. I put it in the top 5. Thanks to the people of Waconia, you were gracious and nice to indulge us on the trip down memory lane!
