been in twice — The fresh cut fries are great, real chunks of blue cheese in the blue cheese dressing and the chicken fried stark is as good as it gets(a tad small) but very well done — really nice staff — And the place is SUPERCLEAN — very well decorated — looks like the real deal(not a chintzy decorating job), My first visit was for a burger and fires — GREAT taste — they actually season the meat — fresh veggies and a load of fresh cut seasoned fries. Took me home«back in the fifties again« Family friendly — be there or be square !!! Jim«Big Daddy» Emmons

Loved how it looks and feels like a 50’s diner. The service at the counter was great and the food was exactly as I expected… tasty and greasy! The cheeseburgers and fries were cooked to perfection and the shake was superb. If I’m back in Waco it is guaranteed I will stop here again!

I did not like this place under previous management, so I was nervous coming back even after hearing a Facebook friend rave about this place for its chicken fried steak. But I was lured in. They had a special for $ 6.99, so I ordered it. Trouble was, I was halfway through the meal when I realized I was eating a chicken fried chicken. I got mad, until I looked at the specials board and realized today’s special WAS the chicken fried chicken! Nevertheless, it was so good that I did not notice the difference until I was almost done. The breading was spot on – crispy, moist and not gummy or greasy. The tater tots were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The cream gravy was not too salty or gloppy. However, the portion is definitely small even for lunch. I will definitely return for the chicken fried steak! I might have to go for an eye exam now…

Great non-chain place to get a great tasting burger. 50’s and 60’s style diner with Elvis on the jukebox! Nice wait staff and good service

When you see the outside area and it’s the old malt shop look and you go in and expect the same type of food that was served in the 50’s –60’s you are very disappointed. The cheeseburger was just plain horrible; the cheese was like a white type glob, the pattie was no where near 1⁄3 # and was a pressed pattie like you’d get at McDonalds, fries were greasy and no flavor; same way for the steak fingers. Waitress dropped off the food and never came back to refill the drinks or see if everything was okay. Will not go back again when in Waco, there’s too many other places to eat that are good.

My Momma took me here to show off the neat Coca-Cola décor. It is a quaint, clean novelty café building meticulously restored with replica 50’s, 60’s furnishings. Location is historic and convenient with original parking and signage. The group had burgers and a chicken sandwich which were all nicely prepared and quickly presented after ordering. I had the grilled pork chop special instead of my fave chicken-fried steak dinner. Classic pre-made chilled chopped house salad with homemade ranch dressing was very fresh and tasty. The two thin boneless chops were well seasoned and cooked to perfection served beside some of the best hand-cut French fried potatoes I’ve ever had… almost just like Momma used to make! All for a very fair price. I’d be remiss in not mentioning our waiter(assistant manager) who was inexperienced but super-attentive and professional. Desire and conscientiousness trump experience every time! Love this place. Better for lunch and breakfast, great at any time!

I was in Waco last week and saw this place driving to the office. It looked so cute on the outside that we had to stop in. Just a cute inside. Very 50s and the service was outstanding. Seems to get a nice crowd. I had steak fingers which were really good. The fries are good and hand cut. The others in my group all had burgers. They said it was the best burger they had in a very long time. If I’m ever back in Waco I would stop in again.

I stopped in to get a burger & nothing else. I didn’t look at the price on the 1/3lb. & a slices of cheese, tomato & shredded lettuce. I told them I wanted very little mayo & no mustard. When she brought me the ticket, I was shocked!!! Six dollars for a little cheese burger! After I paid & left the building, I took a bite of it & it tasted strange. I opened it up & it was mayo & it looked like mustard mixed together. Then the nasty mixture dripped down my shirt. I was so mad, I wanted to scream. Stay away from this over priced stale food.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are great. Chicken and steak fingers are my favorite. Restaurant is really clean and definitely portraits the 50s theme to a T. I love the Dublin Dr. Peppers but they have a whole selection of different Dublin drinks! New management has things running smooth.

The food is fantastic. Will I eat there . The manager is so full of himself, you can’t stand talking to him. I ask to speak to him about a personal matter. the waitress told him.(I saw and heard her tell him), He just ignored me. He looked right at me and started to make coffee. He looked right at me again and went into the kitchen to do something. he looked at me from the kitchen. After 15 minutes He decided to come talk to me. I was there to show him an old pedal car like the ones on the building. I wanted to know if he wanted to buy it. I was dressed nice. I am not homeless, I had business clothes on. I am clean, didn’t look dirty. I work at Baylor so I’m not poor. he told me to come back the next day. The next day I drove, my old 1950’s car there and had a burger.(it was fantastic). i asked to see him and told the waitress I was suppose to meet him there. She told him. I heard her. He stuck he head out and looked. Then 20 minutes later did it again. He never came out. If he didn’t want to talk to me He shouldn’t have told me to come back. He just wanted to show me that he is important and that I could wait for his time. I don’t need the money. I just thought it would be neat to see the car on top of the building. and I needed to get rid of it. There are too many good burgers in Waco to eat in a place where the manager is so full of himself. no thanks

Wow. Have driven by here many times and never came in. Came in for breakfast today. We were completely impressed! They are under new management and they seem to be doing a great job. We were greeted immediately and told to find a place to sit. Clean themed interior. To the food. If you want diet food this is not the place. They use real butter and other real ingredients. The chicken fried steak was as good as O George’s(the best we have ever had!) and much better than Heitmiller. Eggs cooked to perfection in real butter. The omlette was also cooked to perfection(a sausage and cheese omlette only has sausage, cheese and eggs). The hash browns were awesome, no ketchup needed. To the service. Our server, Esther, was perfectly attentive. Checked back regularly but not too often. She was very pleasant, respectful, and her smile was genuine.

Wow! What a change this place has made since it’s remodeling! Change for the better, I would say. The food came out super quick and it was really good!!! My personal favorite was the onion rings! Mmmmmmmm… Makes my mouth water just thinking of them! One of the most important things about going to a restaurant is the price, and in my opinion, this place nailed that… One thing that did bother me was the fries. They were just too greasy for my taste. Other than that this fancy 50’s diner is the one to go to!

Epic 50’s diner with the greasy burgers to go with it. I had a burger with bacon added, fries and a Coke. Hubby had a dinner salad with steak fingers and onion rings. Lived up to every expectation of what a greasy spoon should be!!! Burger was hot and tasty, the fries were fresh cut potatoes with just the right amount of grease. Onion rings were crispy and delicious. Steak fingers were REAL meat with cream gravy. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and intend to go back. A LOT!!! And we’ll be bringing our friends next time!!!

The food was pretty good but the fries had sat too long. The waitress was terrible. She talked and texted on her phone, talked to the other waitress, all while neglecting food in the window. There were 5 people in the restaurant and she just ignored us. Horrid and will not go back.

This place holds fond memories of my childhood. So glad that someone bought it and made it look new again, yet keep the retro theme. Food was just as good as I remember it!

Great restaurant with phenomenal 50s era ambiance. The lunch is a typical greasy made-in-house diner with excellent fresh cut fries. They also have a wide selection of bottled sodas. The restaurant is impeccably decorated with period antiques. It is covered top to bottom with red and white checkered aesthetics. There is coca cola everything– from the ceiling fans to the napkin holders. The one thing lacking at the place is unfortunately the service. There is a sassy tattoo chick waitress that never quite gets things right. Hopefully this place continues to improve, definitely worth a stop.

2 Words: kinda fun! Visited for lunch. My mother-in-law suggested we come after reading a lot judges and other people come here on there lunch break. It was your average diner food, but they had a good variety to choose from. I had a cheese burger and onion rings. The rings were a little over cooked, but the burger was great. I recommend the cheese burger, the chicken fingers(but with a different dipping sauce other than gravy), and the patty melt. Go for the tots not the fries or onion rings. On a scale of 1 – 10 we gave it an avg score of 6. We all agreed the theme was fun and cool.

Checking out the newly remodeled Waco classic on the corner of Waco drive and 26th street. Cute red and white interior super busy on a Saturday afternoon. Onion rings and patty melt — yum!
