Well appointed B&B in a hilly, private and wooded area with the nicest innkeepers, delicious, generous breakfast and more. My Baylor University daughter and I felt special staying here.

We had a lovely little one night stay here celebrating my mom’s 80th birthday. Service: — The innkeeper owners, Retha and Dana, were very kind, responsive, and accommodating. — We appreciated that we could do a one night stay as our trip into the Waco area was very brief — some places require a two night minimum so we were grateful for this flexibility. — My elderly mom left her birthday flowers in the small refrigerator in the room. She’s VERY sentimental and was very upset when we got home and she realized she’d left them. I called Retha to ask that she mail them and I’d reimburse her. She agreed, so I’m hoping mom gets this later this week. ;) Rooms: — The rooms were nice — very spacious with large, comfy beds, well appointed bathrooms, huge jetted soaking tubs, cute sitting areas, kitchen counter area with microwave, coffee, and mini-fridge, and the ability to adjust the temp any way you wish(that’s important when you’re visiting in July/August in Texas). ;) Breakfast: — Good breakfast served in the main home. They had coffee, juices, fruits, granola, and yogurt out ready for a breakfast starter then made to order any number of items based on your preference(e.g. french toast, omelets, eggs, bacon). — I noticed on another site that some folks complained that breakfast was served too late(9am) so I think the innkeepers must have made adjustments to this since our experience was that they said it’s typically served at 9am IF you don’t have a specific time needed. If you needed/wanted it earlier, starting as early as 7am, they were happy to accommodate and they did. We needed a bit of an early start and they were happy to make this happen. Location/Buildings: — The location is convenient to downtown Waco yet rather peaceful — it’s at the end of a rather country neighborhood-like road with lots of trees and behind the main house is an open pasture/yard area surrounded by trees. So, you’re not exactly super secluded out on a prairie or in the woods but you aren’t in town either. Sitting on the main house back porch in rocking chairs was pleasant with the breeze, kitty cats wandering at your feet, and birds chirping. That was enough to help us feel like we were getting away for a bit. Why not 5 stars? — The inn needs some exterior work and cleaning up outside. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t pristine or as picturesque as I expected for a B&B(we’ve stayed at many in the past so we have an idea in mind based on some beautiful places). Just cleaning up random house projects, tools, and such around the grounds would lend it to feeling more kept and welcoming. — The TV in my mom’s room wasn’t useable — the volume would jump from low to very high without even touching it. Previous guests had mentioned it in the guest book so it didn’t appear to be a new problem. My mom needs music on the tv to fall asleep but that wasn’t an option for her in her room. Overall, a nice stay with kind, attentive owners.

Very nice retreat and great hosts! My wife and I stayed this last weekend in the Savanah room and had a great time. We both loved this BnB and would highly recommend them to anyone. Dana and Retha are GREAT hosts and go out of their way to make your experience wonderful. Breakfast was excellent and dana makes a great pot of coffee! The Savanah room was beautiful and cozy. The bed, SUPER comfortable. We will definitely be back again(this was our second time)!!
