McCollister’s Transportation Systems

I called McCollister’s after getting a VERY high quote from a small Illinois/​Chicagoland area moving company that had been highly recommended to me for my move to the East Coast. I’ve moved several times and have experienced a corporate move over the years with the whole suite of moving covered by the company. This time the move $ was on me. I felt one of the big companies would be too expensive, so I started with a small local mover. I was disappointed when the quote was so high. So I started a new search and McCollister’s/United came out and gave me a quote. I was pleasantly surprised with the reasonable price! More important, Donna was amazing. So helpful, so knowledgeable and she gave me good advice on how to make the move as smooth as possible. I did get 2 other quotes from large companies… one came close but the other was high. There was no question that I would contract Mccollister. The move was almost perfect from beginning to end. All the advice I got on my packing and getting ready for the driver was right on. At first I was told my furniture and belongings would be picked up and then moved and handled again and put on another truck to head east. My preference was for it to be handled ONCE, and to my surprise I received a call the night before the move and I was told my driver would pick up and he would be the same person to deliver — so nothing would be taken off the truck between IL and RI. Next, the driver that arrived was just as fantastic. Personable, knowledgeable, helpful… and I could go on and on. He’s a keeper as well. Sure enough, I saw him on the other end, and he did a wonderful job helping unpack and move my furniture in to my new condo in RI. I can’t tell you how happy I was! This experience was the same as my corporate experiences years ago when big companies moved me and my family — service was top notch! I’d definitely hire them again — and if I ever move you can be sure I’ll hope to get the same driver! That probably isn’t possible — but that’s the best recommendation I can post here! McCollister’s moved me in ⁸⁄₂₀₁₃. It was hot and we had a lot to move. The men worked tirelessly and did an outstanding job. Professional, excellent service, friendly and in uniform.

I moved locally with McCollister’s and was very happy with the overall process. The driver and crew were there on time for both load and delivery day. They were all very polite, careful and worked very hard. Communication is also key to the process, and the communication was outstanding.
Delivery day was close to 95 degrees and it didn’t slow them down one bit.
I work in moving and storage, so I know how stressful moving can be (even locally). Of the entire moving process (selling our home, buying a new home, dealing with the banks, utility and service companies, etc) the physical relocation of our goods was far and away the smoothest part of the process.
Our move could not have gone better and we escaped with no damage!

I had used other moving services in the past. Mccollister surpassed all of them. Competitive rates, great service and the movers assigned to my move were great, true professionals. I could not ask for a better experience! I would recommend Mccollister to anyone looking for nothing but the best.

We used Mccollister’s for a local move withing St Louis Mo. The crew was very thorough in touching base with me many times before our moving day to ensure all was going as planned and to confirm they had us secured to move on the big day. The day of the move the 5 man crew were very friendly and had our entire house packed up fast and safely in the truck in only a few hours. At our new house they were able to navigate the tricky cul-​de-​sac and not take out any trees or even impede the street during unloading. (that’s one way to keep my new neighbors happy!) A few more hours later the crew had everything in the house in the exact places we asked for and there was NO DAMAGE WHATSOEVER! Great work guys!
