Smok ‘N’ Bonz

I’m actually shocked about all the good reviews of this place. I’ve given this place several opportunities and each time I’ve been disappointed. The meat itself has been tough or chewy and cold on all occasions. The last time it tasted like was freshly popped out of the microwave. The sides were cold on several occasions and lack luster at best in flavor. I have to say I will not be giving it another chance. Keep driving if you are in vonore.

Friendly, bright, laid back and welcoming is this bbq joint. Walking in feels like home, especially when you hear, «come on in and have a seat» from a smiling staff who look happy to see you. The brisket is perfect, I chose to order mine sauce free so I could sample the choices on the table. All were great, my favorite was the mustard based sauce. Sides came out hot and fresh in huge servings that tasted like momma made them. The menu boasts pie… Though I ran out of room before I could try any. Sounds like a great reason to come back to this charming and delicious hole in the wall.

Very good lunch and the waitress was the nicest lady who helped us with our choices. Always like to try local bar b que. Vinegar based sauce was very good as well as the regular a sweet sauce.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Very clean, very nice wait staff… and we really love the BBQ!!! Not the cookie cutter, big name type of restaurant, very local vibe! Love! Homemade sides and desserts. This is the best Potato Salad I’ve ever had in a restaurant!!! TRY IT!!!

3 stars for the BBQ, an extra star because they were so nice and friendly. The BBQ was good but no great. The ribs were cooked to a competition tenderness and I like mine a bit past that. The pulled pork was already mixed with sauce (boooo!). The sides appeared to be from a can (meh). The peach cobbler was excellent. Again, the service was great and the people were extremely nice. I would eat her again just because I like the attitude of the people working there so much.

Everything was excellent & as expected for a Minnesota boy looking for some good BBQ. Had the ribs & pork combo plate. Ribs were standard but the pulled pork, sauce, house slaw & sweet potato fries were excellent. Then came the pie, both the pecan & coconut were best ever! So good, I bought a whole pie to bring home to the family.

Amazing. Delicious. Generous portions. WAY casual. Cute décor. Clean. Melt-​in-​your-​mouth BBQ. Super low prices. And for those in Kahite, so close to home. Last year we went to the famous Sweet Ps, and this EASILY rivaled that, so definitely even if you’re not all that close, it’s worth the trip. (Heck we come from Chicagoland!)
You know you’re in for a treat where there is an entire smokehouse built on the property. The brisket was fantastic. Ribs fall-​off-​the-​bone tender and juicy. The sides were all delicious; we especially loved the baked beans. And the price cannot be beat. Instead of dessert my husband and I split another order of brisket.
Plus for this newly gluten-​free gal, there were plenty of options to choose from for sides and such.
For down home comfort and finger-​licking BBQ Smok ‘n’ Bonz can’t be beat. I can’t wait for my next trip to east Tennessee to go back!

20.00 for a beef brisket sandwich, pork sandwich and child’s pork sandwich and drinks.
Sandwiches came with (cheap) potato chips and child’s came with French fries (frozen). BBQ was very tough and spicy. Childs portion wasn’t spicy, but still tough. Floors looked like they were swept once a day, if that. Walls were dirty, scuffed, paint peeling off in places. Paint was very drab and what little decorations there are looked out of place. Website claims they have over 25 years’ experience in the food service industry, but it doesn’t show. Service was decent, was checked on semi regularly, offered a refill on drinks as we were fixing to leave. Not a true sit down restaurant, as you walk in you place your order at a counter, get your drinks then seat yourself and it is somewhat confusing.
We will not eat there again.
