The California Cuts

Ive been coming to this salon for 5 years now .i enjoy the women and men that work here they make me feel like family. They Always made me feel welcome. also its close to were i live .ive been getting blow drys here and they make my hair with lots of body and very smooth. thank you so much all of you guys for doing my hair

I am a guy, 30. My experience was bad. The staff was totally unprofessional and messy. The woman who did my cut seemed to be in a rush! I would not recommend any guys to go there.

I am unable to give this salon any stars. My «hairstylist» aka butcher with scissors Ashley Flores, did a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE job on cutting my hair. I told her my scalp is very sensitive and she kept on brushing it so hard with a fine tooth brush, she wouldn’t stop even after I asked her. My hair is uneven and looks terrible! If you can avoid it at all costs, I would. Stay away from this so called «salon».

When I went in for my second cut at this location I left feeling pretty upset. Wilo is a great hair stylist but doesn’t really listen to the customer very well. He didn’t ask if I wanted my hair straightened, but I saw him plugging in the flatiron, so I told him I did NOT want my hair straightened/​styled. I said that I DON’T like my hair straightened because it’s unflattering with my face shape. I also didn’t want any product in my hair because it was late and I was just going home after. He mumbled something, and then started to straighten my hair anyways! And he put A TON of product in my hair. I was so confused. Maybe there was a language barrier, but first of all you should ask your customer before styling their hair because it costs more. second, why would you do something that your customer explicitly said they didn’t want? and then charge them for it? I won’t be returning.

The lady I had did the best she could. I couldn’t explain what I wanted so I just showed a picture which wasn’t still quite what I wanted.
I just basically said, I trust you go for it.
So. Turned out okay. It didn’t actually end up looking anything like the picture, but I liked it. Now here comes my dumb ass, thinking, but I want side bangs. So I asked and then, the reason I’m only giving four stars: I ask for side bangs eye length. And she cuts them mid forehead. I don’t think I was unclear.
It did work out, she blended them in and although I still want then longer it didn’t suck.
So anyway. I think they area ask pretty good here. Just be very clear.

I love Sylvia here — she is an awesome stylist! She knows what she is doing!!! She is a real hair stylest!!! Go to her — you won’t be sorry, she is honest, tells you what is best for your hair and helps if you have problems or issues with your hair. I love her honesty — the girl knows hair. I thought their prices and prices on prodcuts were very resonable. I like the environment — friendly, comfortable. Highly recommend them!!!

This place is awesome! Fun atmosphere people Are all very nice! One negative review won’t stop me from going here! Get over it missy!

I left a detailed review over a year ago warning people away from this salon, and the staff continue to harass me in private messages. It is astounding. Rather than divulge my thoughts I will share the most recent message from Deanna herself. Judge for your self people… it is pretty ugly. I have had to report her to Unilocal now for harassment!

There are clearly two sides to every story, YOU were so overly disgusting that horrific day. Any hairstylist would have asked you to sit down already and ZIP IT! How many times did you walk over to me and do a inspection at least ten. Get over yourself everyones human I was very sick that day as Jeanette explained to you. Change your profile you are at least 50 lbs heavier. You ARE NOT going to get away with just saying what you feel, without me confronting you ! YOU ARE DISGUSTING!

Actually we have a wonderful hairstylist now that welcomes my input, which is at my husbands request, as you probably don’t recall. It seems you are also prejudice of overweight people as well… adds to your list of virtues. I feel very sorry for you, you must have a rough life. I only wish you and your colleagues the best. The Unilocal review was to warm customers away from a bad experience… nothing personal… like what you clearly tried to make it by insulting me. Fortunately the opinion of one such as yourself does not matter to me at all. I am going to flag this message and report you (as well as block you) to Unilocal.It will be considered harassment if I get any further contact from you or the salon. What is «disgusting» is the abuse I received that day and still continue to receive.
And just for my own amusement I did post a new profile picture from April 11, 2015 so everyone can see how «disgusting» I am. ;-)
I think everyone can see by this ugliness there is 100% validity in my previous reviews. Very sad. AVOID THIS PLACE!
And the funniest thing of all is that the Owner actually had the gall after all of this to say I owe Deanna an apology. She said I was angry and hurtful. I think any reader here can see who is angry… and it was never me. Perhaps I should be angry now after all harassment. But in the end I just feel sorry for the lot! I got way more than I bargained for by going to this salon…

Sylvia does a very good job cutting my hair; this has now become my regular place. Recommend it. There are 2 negatives, however:
1. Bit pricey ($ 16.95); most places I’ve gone to, while expensive, aren’t this much. There is no bonus program – my previous stylist offered a free 10^th cut.
2. No computer records like they have in, say, Great Clips.
My friend Rose also liked her haircut here; the salon was nice enough to allow her 2 dogs (the ones in my picture) to sit near and watch. That was very cool!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. It’s rare to find a salon where the stylists have been there for a decade.
This is a great place for haircuts. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. The stylists are so friendly and know how to cut hair. I would refer this salon to everyone.

The lady who owns these salons is fairly unprofessional. The vista salon is a mess! Dirty, unprofessional, and the staff often ignores you when you walk in. The girls seem nice at first, but then you hear them talking bad about clients as they leave. There have been times when I have walked in and had to wait for one girl to finish a hair cut when the others were in the back chatting it up. This salon sucks, and like I said, it’s filthy.

Kortney, Debbie and Ashley are amazing stylists with talent and experience that will assure you a great salon experience at a fantastic price. I have been going for 12 years and have never been disappointed.

I have been coming to California Cuts for quite a few years. Kortney is my stylist. She always knows just what I want. She is great both with color and styles. I have gone from short to long and back and she always does a great job. I have referred Kortney out to other friends and family and they all love her. The rest of the staff at the salon are all great. They make you feel like family. The prices are reasonable and the salon hours are great. Highly recommend this salon!

All parents just so you know At this salon all the employees are extremely lazy and rude we live close by so we thought we would check it out so we go with our son to get his hair cut and right as we get there they give you dirty looks throw their stuff all on their desk table and on the ground and when we had our son sit down like a normal kid he was nervous as soon as he cried all the employees and customers were seriously disrespectful making nasty comments do not trust them with your hair or your child’s it is disgusting how they treat people!!!

Awesome job by Amanda! I owe you girl. Loving my hair. The entire crew was super helpful and sweet :). The price is uncanny, so cheap for the style produced. Thanks again!

I have been getting my hair done here for years. I love coming here, all the girls are so talented and friendly, when you walk in they greet you with a smile and I always see them greeting clients by name as if they’ve known them forever.
I change my hair a LOT so keeping it healthy is a challenge but AJ knows exactly what’s she’s doing! Right now I’m very blonde and my hair feels softer than ever before!
I’d recommend this place to anyone and the prices are so affordable, you won’t be let down!

Arrived at 9, when they are supposed to open. Workers did not arrive until 9:20 to open the store. We were then told there was no one there that could do a perm.
No apology for arriving late. Not good business practice.
Will not return.

Been going here for years for a simple buzz cut. They are always very friendly and they get me in and out quickly. $ 10 buzz with a rinse or shampoo. Can’t beat that.
