I can’t comment on how authentic since I’m not from El Salvador, but the food was delicious. The red sauce and slaw on top of the pupusa was yummy. The reveulta and camaron pupusas were yum! I had a plate with sides which were good. The juices were yum too!

This place is great! I’ve been to a lot of Central American restaurants to eat food from my parents homeland and this is the place I come to the most. The staff here is very friendly(family owned) and they’re always on point! The pupusas are cooked to order so everytime they’re as fresh as they can get! If you’re on the fence about coming here think no more, you’ll love it!

The Pupusas are amazing! There is so much flavor. The service is friendly and quick. Doesn’t hurt that the waitress is very hot, haha.

Being Salvadoran I always look for pupuserias in the area, this one in North County is the only one I have relatively close. The place is decent, little loud, and the service is good. Now, las pupusas do not really have the classic taste, however, they are good. Lis platanos for some reason are always overcooked, even when I ask to have then fresh made, they always serve me platanos tasting and looking like they had been jn the pan all day. One of the things it looks really bad is the way they serve the curtido and salsa, «bags», it reminds me when I was in El Salvador driving the bus to La Union and the bus used to stop at Usulutan, we used to buy pupusas there and they give us the curtido in bags, you would think that being in USA you will not see this things, not much progress on that. At the end, will I recommend this place? mmmm? Yes… Why not.

I have eaten here several times and am impressed each time. The pupusas revueltas are the best. The only thing that keeps it from a 5 star review is the tables need to be replaced. The finish has worn off of them and bare wood is exposed. Seems a little unsanitary.

Wow. Everything here is delicious! I’m Salvadorian and everything here is made with love. I honestly love coming here and the people that work here are always happy and so nice. The drive here is always worth it. I have tried most things on the menu and everything is soooo good. I’ve been coming here for years, and this place has never let me down in quality of food or the amazing customer service they provide. I love you, Mama Lita.

Okay so I went to this place last week and I was really really impressed! The area was clean, the waitress was really nice! and I loved the music :) The pupusas were really good! I almost feel like I was eating in El Salvador, the only thing that I didn’t like its that I found a hair on one of my pupusas! I didn’t say anything because the friend who took me there and others friends have a really nice impression of this place! My recommendation would be to tell the employees to wear hair net, that way those type of accidents wont happen again! besides that, food was great! and big big thumbs up to the horchata!!!

Want something different? Tired of the same fast food places? Come visit Las Popusas restaurant. Well known for their delicious, tasty and reasonably priced Salvadorian cuisine. This is a hidden jewell! I have not had a bad dish yet!

This is a cute little restaurant with good pupusas. However, they are very slow, so order ahead or come when you aren’t in any rush. The parking lot can be a bit chaotic and cramped, so be careful!

Very delicious pupusas, we sat down and our waitress took our order real quick. We ordered pupusas de chicharro con queso, bean and cheese, jalapeño and cheese and their platano frito, with cream, beans and queso fresco. It took around 20 mins to get our food. They have a delicious salsa that has a great taste. The pupusas are nicely stuffed with plenty of cheese and meat. The down side was the lack of attention to or drinks. No one offered to refill them and no one came to check on us.

Pretty authentic Salvadorian food. The pupusas, beans and rice were so good, truly central american. I think that everything good that there is to say about this place, has already been said… if you are looking for authentic food from El Salvador, I would definitely recommend it.

Traditional, authentic… Salvadorian pupusas in the heart of Vista. This is your definition of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant where the owner doubles up as the waiter. No frills, great pupusas and Salvadorian home cooked meals. Choose from many pupusa fillings. The cabbage and tomato salsas are endless as well. If you pupusas… definitely try it here. Wash it down with an aguas frescas!

The food is absolutely delicious here. There are a wide variety of dishes and drinks to choose from. I have yet to try something I didn’t like and I have been coming here for 7 years. The staff is friendly and speaks fluent English which is a major plus. There is always tasteful music playing lightly in the background and two flat screens for entertainment

Amazing food in a tiny strip mall! I had the carne asada plate and a chicken pupusa and everything was super tasty! Service was really nice and very fast! Much quicker and better than the last salvadoran restaurant ive eaten at! I would highly recommend this place!

Are the tamales supposed to have crushed up bones and globs of chicken fat? The masa was ok, but that’s about it. My boyfriend called the wrong place as he was heading home from work… the place he should’ve called was«Cuscatlan Comida Salvadoreña» .their tamales, blows this places tamales outta the water. I just can’t eat the rest of this tamale. I keep crunching on pieces of bones. my teeth hurt. The funny thing is, my boyfriend is so upset and disappointed that he won’t be making the same mistake ever again. Also, there goes 14 bucks for 4 tamales… Too bad we live too far away to go to the restaurant we had intentionally wanted. Don’t believe me? Try a tamale here then head to the other place. You won’t regret it. Don’t make the same mistake my bf did.
