Fantasy Nails

This was my very first visit. I was told from a peer come try this place out. Personal in this place is very friendly and personable. I was a little hesitant due to area, but never judge a book by its cover. I enjoyed and am glad I came in. I found another good nail shop in vista. I did notice they have a lot more color selection than other nail salons in gel colors. The dedicated time invested from Kim in doing her work shows her passion for industry. Kim asked me how i like my nails done in shape, length, style. After conversing with Kim I realize she has a lot of knowledge for what she does. I would highly recommend this place. I would defiantly come back. I got so many compliments on my nails. BTW i walked in with out appointment and was received. You have a new customer Kim

I came in without a reservation and was taken right away. They did a great job on my waxing, pedicure and gel manicure and it was very reasonably priced. I will be back soon!

If you’re tired of over hyped glam salons, and are looking for a quiet relaxing salon with plenty of personal attention, Fantasy Salon is worth checking out. Antonia turned my messy locks into a very fashionable hairstyle. Though her English may need a bit of polish, she was able to communicate at each step of the new style to make sure what she had in mind was to my liking. She was able to work very effectively with the natural wave in my hair, to accentuate it as an asset rather than trying to force it into an unnatural cut with heavy handed round brushing. I booked another appointment before leaving and recommend you book your first with Antonia. You’ll be glad you did.

I’m going to preface this with: I work in the same industry and I know how tough it can be to please a client. I’m not that difficult but if I show you a picture of how I like things, I do expect it to be close. Also, I wouldn’t sit and argue with a client. With that said, here’s my review:
My boyfriend lives in the area and I needed a place to get an overhaul done for his company party that night. I’m talking nails and waxing — EVERYTHING needed to be done. I called EARLY on a Saturday morning to see if I could get in. I was told that they were busy until 1 pm and I could get in then. PERFECT! Gave me time to be lazy. I walked in at 12:50 pm and everyone was busy. I told them I had an appointment and they told me someone would be with me shortly. There were people waiting so I sat with them. Thirty minutes went by, the people waiting dwindled [as they were being helped] and there I sat. I finally asked someone if I should leave because we were now nearing thirty minutes past my appointment time. The girl who I originally told I had an appointment to looked at me and told me that I never told her I did and she assumed I was a walk in. NOPE. I gave her my name and she said something [in Vietnamese] to another lady in the back and out she flew. Then I was taken back for my waxing.
Now, I know my eyebrows grow in thick and with deep roots; they’re difficult, trust me. I told the lady that I like them thin and with an arch — if you think you’re going too thin TRUST ME, you’re not. I even showed her a picture from the previous time they were freshly done. She said she understood. After making her redo them three times, I had her stop. Actually, we got into an argument and she refused to continue to go thinner so I gave up the fight.
She told me to pic a color so she could do my full set. I chose a dark silver/​sheen color. I told her that I cant have my nails too long. She said okay. Now by this time I had already disclosed with her that I’m a cosmetologist. She started doing my nails and everything seemed to be going okay. I was pressured for time by now so I was paying more attention to the clock than my nails. She then said she wanted to put a special coat over the color I chose. Uh okay. She put TWO coats of this BRIGHT silver color over the TWO coats of the dark. I told her that it wasn’t what I asked for. She pointed to the people waiting and told me she didn’t have time to change it. Frankly, I didn’t have time to sit there any longer. so I went to go pay and tapped on my nail — IT WAS STILL WET even after staying in the UV dryer for 5 minutes. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable reaching into my pocket to grab my cash so someone helped. I asked what my total was and handed her a little more than what I owed. Now if a client does that to me, I NEVER assume the rest is my tip — she did and then stared at me like I owed her more. Seriously?
As I was getting ready, I then noticed my nails were COMPLETELY crooked. Thank goodness I had an emery board and was able to fix some of them but they were a mess!
Between the rudeness and not getting what I wanted, I’m pretty sure I will not return — even when I move down there.

Van and Kim are great. I’ve been coming here for years and I’am never disappointed with their work.

If I could I give it a minus star I would. The hygiene in this place is terrible Kim kept going back and forth between a pedi customer and a mani customer keep in mind it wasn’t the same customer without wearing gloves or bothering to wash her hands in between customers… I observed her for what seemed like for ever which is how long the lady taking care of me took for a simple gel fill it took as long if not longer than a new full set… Never going back

In a world where you can end up with super thin uneven eyebrows and be stuck for months growing them out so you look normal again, it can be hard to find a place you can count on. This is my place. I’ve been going here for 8 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. My nails and eyebrows come out perfectly every time. They are all very kind ladies and have fair pricing.
