Found the nursery on online. Called them about the atemoya tree if they have any available. A male voice said it is too cold for them we don’t carry it. Few weeks later in the search they came up again and surprisingly they had atemoya listed. Called them again, hoping to visit them on weekdays because of my weekend work schedule and they advertise on their site it is possible to visit if you make an appointment one hour prior on weekdays. Called them again, sounded somewhat helpful yet again I got the strong feeling«lady we are busy, we can see you only on Saturday». Yes, indeed spring is very busy in most garden, I understand. Went to ong nursery instead and I bought 2 trees and had an awesome experience with a sweet welcoming lady.

Trees dies within months slowly diying due to roots trimmed as a small ball sharp about 5 — 6 in diameter. They planted in a big pot for big prices. I have spent thousands and just found outs as mentioned trees are dying slowly. .no growth due to roots been trimmed.

I do not understand how they stay in business. They are expensive, unhelpful, and perhaps dishonest. They refuse to let us speak to anyone in charge, insist they told us something they did not, and will not honor the coupon we bought. There are so many good fruit tree places in the county, it is not clear why anyone should ever go here.

I have several problems with this business. 1) As one of the previous two reviews suggest, the«wholesale» prices are not any lower than retail(in fact, they may be more expensive). 2) When I called one of the owners«Amy» to resolve a problem I quickly found out that customer service is NOT number one. It seems that saving a dollar is more important to this company than pleasing the customer.(see $ 3 comment in previous review… lol). 3) I hope your GPS is working because the nursery is located in a remote part of Vista… their prices + the drive = go somewhere else. 4) I showed up on a Saturday(today) and the only employee that was able to help in tree selection was very nice but spoke limited English. Conclusion: I would NEVER recommend this nursery to anyone. Liked: Another customer that was very knowledgeable about some of the trees. He was more helpful than the employee. Disliked: the high prices; owner’s indifference to the customer; the location

California Tropical Fruit Tree Nursery is a very nice nursery that is owned and operated at a private residence. It is difficult to find, and there are no signs directing you to the location. It is by appointment only, except for Saturdays. The selection is vast and the trees are exquisitely maintained. The prices are higher than most nurseries I have been to, and there were no deals to be found. I bought 2 trees, which came out to be nearly $ 200, and it turned out that I was $ 3 short in cash. I asked the guy helping us if he could let me slide $ 3 and he kind of chuckled and made me pay by credit card. The guy helping us had good knowledge of trees, but his English was limited. I understand that this is a private residence, but a little more effort at making the nursery a welcoming experience would go a long way with me.

Best place to find a fruit tree. Highest quality in comparison to other places in San Diego. Their on site staff was very knowledgable. They answered all of my questions. I bought an avocado tree and a lime tree(15 gallon) both with fruit on them for under $ 200 total. When I need another tree, I’m coming here.
