Great service and food … A hidden gem in Visalia! Chili Verde omelet and Swedish pancakes are delicious.

Recommend the vegetable sausage omelet. Danish breakfast special was a lot of carbs but a decent plate. I got their breakfast combo plate and an an omelet. Omelet was desperately in need of salt but they were pretty liberal on the jack cheese so it made up for it. Service was A+, we had a group of 10 and they were on top of drinks and checking up on everything. We even had a unique order where we had something to go upon leaving which we ordered when we placed the original order, and they remembered it. Would be five stars but the danish pancake tasted a bit burned. I don’t know if that’s how it’s supposed to be. I ordered two breakfast’s just for myself and the vegetable omelet with added sausage was good for the price. Fantastic for large groups because you get your own private room, it’s kind of like VIP. And you don’t even have to pay extra, it comes for free if you have a large group.

Overrated. Food is good but not always worth the wait. No reservations for parties smaller than 6 and takes a while to be seated or get food. Great if you really have a hankering for this food but there are other good breakfast places too. Always have to consider if it is worth the wait…

The staff is great, keeps up well with the noisy, tiny tots that make up the younger half of our MOMS Club. The train room is the place to sit, play kitchen and train table ready for the young ones. Portions are decent. You can’t go wrong with Swedish pancakes or ableskievers. This most recent visit I had the breakfast burrito, served with hash browns. Totally delish. It wasn’t huge in size, but packed with flavor. Hash browns were served crispy, upon my request. Salsa was served on the side, and added texture to my meal. I’ll be back again with my friends and their tiny tots, need to try more entrees on the menu.

Meh. wasn’t that great. Think i got caught up in the hype so it skewed my expectations. The food was nicely prepared. The customer service was good. It was a fine place to catch up with friends. The shop is good for killing time while you wait for a table. I wouldn’t make this an every weekend place, but if someone wanted to meet up there, i wouldn’t object.

i can’t believe that i haven’t written a review for my favorite breakfast place in town! when i was on a different schedule my bf and i would come here every saturday morning(early — because if you’re getting there from 9am or later, you’ll have to wait a little, or a lot if its a holiday weekend), as our schedule has changed, it is now an every once in a while treat. everything i’ve had from the menu has been great. nothing leave a big oil slick on your plate — which is so rare from a breakfast place! love their omelets, breakfast burrito, burgers, fries, hash browns — basically there isn’t anything that we have not enjoyed. and the service is top notch. from the minute you walk in the door the minute you leave, nothing less than a feeling of warmth and kindness. my one and only complaint is that their hours don’t work for my new schedule — so i don’t get to enjoy as often, so it makes me sad :(

I hyped myself about this restaurant and it turned out to be a total foodie fail! This is how this restaurant works: walk in and wait to be seated. If you have to wait you can browse through the gift shop. Personally I was disappointed about the gift shop I thought it would have Danish postcards or anything relative towards Denmark after all their specialities are Danish pancakes. When you get seated you notice this place attracts the older crowd and locals. It’s cute that they have local advertisements on their food mats. And each menu has pictures of their coworkers. Now the food review. I really enjoyed their orange juice! It was good and sweet(not sure if they added sugar in :(.) The breakfast special was good besides their special Danish sausage. it had such odd taste. It was my first time tasting it so I am not sure of the real taste. I was really disappointed in the Danish pancakes. It was dry and burnt :(

Wow — what a breakfast! The authentic Danish cuisine was fast, tasty and filling. The kid’s room was wonderful for occupying two little ones. Most of all, the Danish sausage was remarkable and isn’t something you encounter too often. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back for another sweet Scandinavian breakfast soon.

Great place for breakfast in Visalia! Excellent Danish pancakes, wonderful cozy atmosphere, good coffee and great service. They also serve aebleskivers which are like tiny round donut holes but much more delicious. Yum!

I love this place. Great food, nice location and attentive staff. Love the Blueberry pancakes. I also tried the Danish breakfast. Eggs, Danish pancake, 2 Abelskeivers and a Danish sausage link. The sausage was very good. It has allspice and possibly ground clove, but the added spices do not overwhelm the great pork flavor. The spice is perfectly subtle. I could eat here everyday even twice a day. They do breakfast and lunch, but I make a bee-line at 7 am for breakfast and thankfully avoiding bland one-note hotel restaurant food where I am staying. Give it a try !

This place is really good. I was I town for a couple of days and I came here almost every morning for breakfast. I have ONLY had their breakfast, but, it is delicious. My favorite breakfast plate is the sausage and eggs. This place is also a store, when I first visited I was thrown off because I didn’t know how it worked because the store is the first half and the restaurant is in the back but just go in and the ladies are all friendly and will help you right away.

Delicious breakfast with a Danish kick. The Aebleskivers are bomb! They’re like little pancake balls of goodness! You get a great breakfast here in a very clean atmosphere from very friendly staff. Lots of homemade goodies like cinnamon rolls, various pies, and all their jams are homemade. I definitely recommend giving them a try.

The chicken fried steak special is delicious; perfectly breaded crispy ground beef slathered with gravy. The orange juice is served in what can only be described as a chalice. If they had just bedazzled the glass a little more, it’d be a pimp cup. The cinnamon buns are pretty good as well.

If you live in Visalia or visit often and have never had breakfast at Valhalla, for shaaaaaame on you. All of my family members who live in Visalia say that Valhalla serves the best breakfast in town, of course! There’s just no beating it. This is another one of those quintessential Visalia restaurants. Been around for a long time, family-owned, cozy, people know each other, servers are super sweet like they are your family friend and the food is consistently good. I don’t know why this place only has 18 reviews because it’s definitely no secret. If you try to come on Saturday morning, come early or be prepared to wait. They have a cute little gift shop in the front of the restaurant for people to browse around while they wait. They have several rooms where large parties can be seated, which is nice if you want a little privacy. On to the food, the best part. It’s just all around good. From the freshly squeezed orange juice my aunt is hooked on to the fluffy and amazing pancakes topped with fruit to delicious omelettes. They make great Belgain waffles and Danish pancakes, which seem exactly like crepes, but I believe they stop making both at 11am. Be sure to get an order of aebleskivers with apple butter! I ALWAYS do! Aebleskivers are traditional Danish pancakes in the distinctive shape of a sphere. They are solid like a pancake but light and fluffy like a popover. And don’t forget the amazing apple butter! Even people who live in larger cities say they«love» Valhallas for breakfast. Their lunch is good too!

I stopped in at a Starbucks in Visilia CA, so I could log onto Unilocal and find out where was a good place to get breakfast in this town. Unilocalers said go here. So I went here. I wandered around and eventually found the place. I walked around the building and eventually found the front door, which lead me into a gift shop. Confusedly, I asked the girl behind the counter if this was the Valhalla Restaurant. She smiled, nodded and grabbed a menu, then she lead me back to the restaurant part of the place. She put me in a seat and I looked at the menu. I opted to try something local, something authentic to the danish styling of the place. «One Danish special, along with a Danish pancake please;» was my order. The waitress was nice and kinda reminded me of my mother. She went off to place my order, and some time later, she brought back the food. Aebleskivers, Danish Sausage and Danish Pancakes sat before me. Mom Waitress came over again, this time with a cup of Raspberry Jam and a similar cup of powdered sugar for the Danish Pancake. They were okay. The sausage was good, the hash browns were good, and the abelskivers were okay as well. Denny’s has things similar to abeskivers, but they are flavored. These were just dough flavored. The raspberry jam made them a bit better. The whole meal was a learning experience, and fairly tasty, but nothing out of this world memorable. Prices were decent, food was decent. It was a solid«OK.»
I think if I ever find myself back in Visilia, I’ll check further down the Unilocal page for results.
