Marginal at best. Food was not hot & took a long time to be served. Staff did more talking at counter than taking care of customers. A large group came in that was known by the staff and the service got even worse. Our waiter refilled my water once did not refill my husbands pop or ask if he wanted a refill. Once large group arrived our waiter only came back once to our table to deliver our ticket & tell us he would be back to see if we needed anything else — he did not come back to our table. I had to flag down a passing by waiter for a to go box. First & last time for us at Ryan’s Place.

My husband and I eat there a lot; breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. Good food and friendly waitresses. Food is very good and coffee is very good. Never had a bad meal all these years we’ve eaten there. Prices are very reasonable, too.

I’m very surprised at some of the reviews on this place, considering our dinner and service was excellent! I ordered a steak with all the fixings and it was so delicious! Cooked just the way I like it. Our waitress was also very friendly! The patrons here are in their 50’s and up, so if ur looking for a place to have a quiet dinner, this would be the place.

Nothing spectacular. The service was excellent but the food was midiocre. Big portion at a decent price, a little bit greasy but overall good.

I knew something was amiss when the food came out on a Rubbermaid trolley — the same kind that’s seen in Cafeterias or Senior homes. Everything looked good at first glance and the waitress was super friendly. Here are some observations: Pro: the service is friendly Con: they don’t clue in when ¾ of the meal isn’t eaten when they clear a plate. Pro: they served the hollandaise sauce on the side. Con: it was stale /old tasting. Pro: they have homemade biscuits. Con: they microwave them into mush. Pro: they have lots of veggies to serve with eggs. Con: the eggs taste like they are cooked on a dirty grill — or with old oil or butter. Pro: the hash browns were cooked to order — extra crispy. Nothing special really. I much prefer Tazzaria downtown or The Wildflower Café in Exeter.

The food quality isn’t very good these days at Ryan’s. We’ve been coming to Ryan’s for 10 years and just love the servers. Sheryl is the best. She knows all of her regular customers’ orders and is always happy to see you. Gracie, Kristi and Dora are great too. Within the past year or so we’ve noticed the food wasn’t as good as before. The steaks are tough and either over or under cooked. My husband ordered chicken fried steak the other night and he said it was hard. Like he could barely cut into it and then chew it. The week before I ordered a French dip sandwich and it wasn’t very good. It wasn’t served on a French roll so the bread got too soggy. The meat was well done and very dry. When I order a hamburger for $ 10 it’s cooked beyond recognition and crumbles to the touch. We’ve noticed the management on Friday nights likes sitting down with their favorite customers instead of checking on everyone in the restaurant. One Friday night we even saw the manager sitting at a table with a man the whole time we were dining. Can only assume by the body language that she’d invited her boyfriend in for dinner. If they don’t improve on their food quality we’re going to go elsewhere. Seriously, it’s not okay to spend money on bad food. Today is another day at Ryan’s. Came in for the special«steak & eggs» because they have a huge banner on the front of the restaurant and imagine my surprise… no steak. Said there might be some on the truck but don’t know what time that’ll arrive. Hmmm. If you’re offering an all day special you’d think they’d have the food to back it up.

Very un happy with the management. .this woman does not know how to treat her employess. Iwas so embarrassed for the sweet young server who got her @$$ chewed in front of god and everyone… this wasn’t the first time I’ve witnessed this managers antics. there have been a few instances. Long time customer who’s had enough. You can thank KAREN. for no longer getting my business.

Breakfast is great… Dinner is just average. Hubby spent the better part of his meal trying to figure out what part of the cow his«steak» sandwich came from. Tuna melt wasn’t bad. Daughter said French dip was«chewy» — we watched the hostess go from taking money to wrapping silverware in napkins(gross). I will say our server was really nice.

Picked up a strawberry and a banana cream pie to go for my mans bday to take up to Three Rivers. Hope they are good! Service was great– I had my dog and it was too hot to leave her in the car so I gave the lady my order and my card then she brought the pies out to me! So sweet. I will update my review after we taste the pies.

This is our go to restaurant for breakfast. We usually go for their steak and eggs special. We like it here. The waitresses are nice. Sometimes it could be a little bit of wait for your food but it’s worth it. The food is good. If you’re staring at Ryan’s from the outside you might be like me and think this is a small restaurant but as you get inside you’d be surprised it’s not that small. They also sell pies and muffins. I would love to give this restaurant a 4 star but the morning cashier lady isn’t friendly. You know it doesn’t hurt to smile. Management if you’re reading this please train your cashier lady customer service etiquette.

This is my go to when it comes to breakfasr, very old fashion in a good way. Food taste great, but I don’t recommend it for dinner unless your having dinner for breakfast.

We really enjoy Ryan’s Place on the weekend. Good basic home cooking, good flavor — prices are up a little but potions are generous. I would probably give it 4 stars on the weekend when service is good even in a crowd. Servers are pleasant and provide extra help or customize order if needed. I’m giving it 2 stars for the 5 weeknights! We’ve tried several times and any night of the week we wait 5 – 10 minutes to give our drink order to a hostess who told us twice our server would be right with us. Then waited another 10 – 15 for the server to finally take our order as she explained she had 5 tables and didn’t know which one was first. Food took another 29 minutes to get food! Server was pleasant so I think management under staffs on week nights so not the servers fault by his is consistent during the week. If they would correct this understafging issue we would come once each week on a week night when we have to be out anyway. Long story short — try it on the weekend!

I have eaten a number of times at Ryan’s. Go for a decent breakfast or lunch. The dinners are hit or miss. I recently had the lasagna special and had a Chef Ramsey moment. Tasteless. Mostly noodles with little sauce or meat and lacking in Italian flavor. The blue cheese dressing on the salad was watery and had no blue cheese chunks. The staff are very nice though.

Food was great! We did wait a few to get seated but the wait was no longer then 5 minutes but then again it was full. Waiter did take a few to take our order but the food came out fast. I’d definitely be coming back for more!

Came here because there was an archery tournament around the area. Based on the reviews and the pictures, I was expecting some decent food that would last me a while but boy was I surprised! I ordered the breakfast burrito and before the order came, I thought the size of the burrito would be around Carl’s Jr. size. Instead, I got this GIANT burrito with a huge helping of Louisiana potatoes for breakfast.(Think of a chipotle burrito with way more stuff in it.) The breakfast burrito came stuffed with eggs, cheese, bacon, and even more potatoes! I only sliced 1⁄8th of the burrito and was done with breakfast. This isn’t to say the food was bad, the food was delicious! Just that I couldn’t bare to eat the entire burrito because of the size. I also got some good guacamole and sour cream on the side to eat with the potatoes and burrito. For $ 7.99, this meal will last me 2 days and is definitely worth a stop if you are stopping by the Tulare County for a fair or on your way to Sequoia National Forrest.

Absolutely love this place! I come here weekly and have never been disappointed. To me the food is just one piece of the puzzle when judging a restaurant… I’m more interested in the service, and the service here is unbeatable. I’ve lived all over the country and few restaurants have ever come close to the wonderful service I receive here regularly.

Place is very friendly and very good. Both times I’ve been here the service and food was great. The portions are very decent for the price. Your paying for the price of Denny’s but getting double the food and better quality. There steak Fajitas are delicious and big, good enough for 2 in my opinion! My children love the turkey dinner and the spaghetti and don’t forget the dessert Because they make it all fresh and it’s so yummy!

THEFRIEDCHICKEN! i asked the waiter if it was fully homemade i.e. the batter and he said yes. then he said, «it’ll take about 20 – 25 to make it.» well, that just about made my decision. not to deter me bc that’s a long time, but for the opposite bc it told me they really do fully make it homemade and with care. And i was not disappointed… the skin/batter tasted SOGOOD and the meat was juicy inside. Done. The pie. eh. nothing special.(had the banana split pie– banana, chocolate, and strawberry– it had one strawberry… the chocolate was pretty much chocolate pudding and the crust was like a ready-made crust from the grocery store) and they put too much whipped cream on top(and on most of the other cream pies i saw). GF’s entrée(the lobster benedict) was good. The hash browns were abundant. and the prices were good for what u get.

Good food and decent prices. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I never had to ask for a refill on my drink. I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs(over medium) The steak was crunchy on the outside and tender and juicy inside. Perfectly done. My eggs were cooked properly. The hash browns were good, and toast not under toasted and not burnt. Perfect. After I had to try one of there many homemade pies. It was amazing. You have got to try one if your here. Mmmmmm.
