In-Shape: Visalia Mooney North

I have been coming to inshape since last October, and wanted to add more challenges to my work out routine. I finally sighned up for a trainer last month, and picked Greg myself, because I heard wonderful things about this young man. I was very impressed my first session with him. I specifically let him know about the areas I really wanted to target, and we went to work almost right away. The work out was a bit challenging, and tiresome! I had no idea how much I truly was out of shape! We went at my pace, but still had a good work out! He is such a friendly, smart, and funny partner! I felt extremely comfortable.

I have purchased several times from the Juice Bar and Café, and found the staff to be very knowledgeable and friendly. I have primarily have purchased the Java Jolt and each time the taste has been consistent in quality and flavor.

OK, let me start off by saying, I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY MEMBERSHIP HERE!!! This facility is ridiculous! *SOME* of the staff are very helpful and friendly. This gym is always so packed with the «selfie squads» and teens who have raging hormones that don’t know how to «wait» until they are home to «unwind!» I am very disappointed in this gyms lack of attention to their members. They are under staffed and the facility is way to packed for their little bit of staff.
Second, my kids go with me to this gym and I have experienced some very uncomfortable times in regards to members or these ignorant teens going there in search for eye candy and hookups, I was in the «family locker room» with my son and daughter (ages 4 and 5) bathing them a little after the pool. I was in the shower room with them when 4 «adult» females (adults is not what I would really call them) and one «adult» male came in to the locker room just cussing up a storm and talking very filthy. Their are signs up every where stating what that locker room is used for! This gym needs to make routine stops or check ups to the locker rooms so things like this don’t happen!
Third, I WAS a VIP member until I went to tan and walked in on two members «hooking up!» I am no longer a VIP member because I am not willing to put my health on the line because people don’t have any Morales and lack of common sense.
Once again this facility needs to keep a better eye on their rooms, restrooms/​locker rooms, showers, tanning rooms and pool!!! Oh and the parking sucks due to it being way to busy at this gym.
So, I DO NOT recommend this gym if you have kids or you if you are actually looking to get in shape and not be bothered by someone sitting at every machine acting like they are working out but really they are only concerned with how their «selfie» is turning out. **InShape it is your facility you could do a better job at asking people to not sit at any one machine to take a selfie (get some staff in their that will take charge and give people the boot!), not have s*x in the tanning rooms and use the «family» locker room for actual families (not for them to take shower with random people because I do not like explaining to a 4 and 5 year old why a boy and a girl just went in the shower together and they had NO kids!)

I walk in and I’m ignored, however my guy friend gets greeted by name. Never had any staff assist me when I needed help. I recently switched gyms from another city and my billing is screwed up. I like that the staff picks and choose who they greet and provide service too.

Horrible customer service! This is a business that will not accommodates you in a situation where they could win your business over!

More like 2.5 stars. I have been going to this facility for years, actually now that I think about it I’ve been going since it opened. I’m going to guess about 10 years or so.
Pros: I really like the free WiFi. It lets me listen to my Songza app and not use my data. It’s a pretty spacious gym so I never feel like anyone is too «in my space». I like the sauna room cause it feels great after a workout. Tons of cardio machines so I’m never having to wait.
Cons: I agree that it could feel a little cleaner. Some things they do well like vacuuming and dusting down machines. However, other areas like the bathroom and the changing of the machine towels could use a little work. But I do get that this is a highly used facility, and those things/​areas get used like crazy. Also, while I myself have never had any major problems with the staff or representatives I do know that they are very inflexible about their rules and policies. We have been a customer for 10+ YEARS and recently when my mom wanted to readjust our membership to include the Demaree facility, they would not budge about increasing our monthly fee. She mentioned how a friend of ours has more family members in their membership, pays less than us, AND can use any facility. Still, no customer service. Just a «Well I’m sorry». Pretty tacky if you ask me considering we have been loyal customers for so long. Oh but they did automatically increase our monthly payment just because they opened another small facility (not a convenient location) which they «gave» us access to.

So I added my kids on to Kids Club so that I can take them swimming and they can go to child care while i work out, and they had the worst time. I was paged after just 15 minutes to Kids Club, and when I got there my 2 year old son was having a huge breakdown, which is unlike him. They weren’t comforting him or anything, just told me I needed to pick up him and my daughter because he was crying. Come to find out, my daughter told me another boy had bullied my son out of his little toy car that he is inseperable to, which is why he was crying. Sure enough I went back in there and found his car stuffed under a chair. What the HELL do I pay these people for… definitely no doubt in my mind I will be switching back to Evolutions… they’re child care is amazing… they actually care about the kids and consider themselves a full service facility… they change diapers and assist in potty training and the whole nine yards.

What an amazing gym! Friendly personable staff, clean facility, and plenty of equipment.
