Staff was very helpful when I was shopping for a gift and clueless to what to buy. The lanes are not wheelchair or stroller friendly

I used to love hot topic ever since i was kid. But yesterday something happened I thought would never happened. I was racial profiled by one of their employees. I was looking at shirts mind I mind I own business. The store was full of Caucasians and I was the only minority she came to me asking how much I planned on spending I told her my budget was $ 15 and she said ok well dont hide anything under these shirts. As if i was trying to steal i was planning on buying something from there but instead I looked at her in disgust and just walked out. And took my money elsewhere. Most of the employees are really cool but the woman with the purple hair is racist and because of that incident I will no longer talk my business there and I urge all others to do the same if you wish not to be racially discriminated.

I actually love this store. Hot Topics are always cramped and whatnot so that doesn’t effect my veiws on it.
It’s clean, well kept, and has a lot of really cool stuff. It’s pretty pricey but there are usually special deals going on.
A few of the staff are lazy and unhelpful, but most of them are fantasic. There’s one manager or assistant manager (not sure which) that is completely amazing. He’s got a beard, stretched ears, and will do everything that he can to make customers happy. Whenever I have a question that’s at all complex, he’s then one I go to.
There have been several times that I’ve asked employees if they have more of something in the back and they just brush me off and say no, then I’ve asked that specific guy and he’s found it for me.
He represents a great store, and makes it look even better!

The t shirts are not true to size. My husband just went to buy us shirts and I’m larger than him. He bought himself an Xl and me an xxl they are the exact same size. I put the up against each other and they are exact. This is the 2^nd time this hapened. Buy your band shirts online. Not from hot topic.

Lot of stuff in a small store… Knowledgable staff.
