Excellent french fries — boardwalk style. Good wholesome food — reliable, friendly, interesting menu. Sorry to see the ‘out of towner’ city person gave it a 2-star review. This place is a very fine local eatery with high quality hand packed dogs and brats — it is very good. No city-condescension necessary. Our family loves going to this reliable summer/warm months pop-up eatery for good, fresh food.

Perfect comfort food reasonably price. I’ve never gotten anything I didn’t like. We’ve been there several times and will be back again. No-frills dining at its finest.

A seasonal caboose-type walk-up venue with umbrella’d picnic tables set up in front. They offer a wide variety of hot dogs, regular or foot-long. Hamburgers… bratwurst…a taco dish or taco salad and various sides and drinks. We ordered the bratwurst with sauerkraut because that’s the thing in Wisconsin… you’re not truly THERE until you find yourself eating a bratwurst in a parking lot… and a side of bacon mac & cheese. The bratwurst was fine but the mac & cheese… for all of the menu puffery about organic macaroni and locally raised pork bacon… was essentially a small cup of ordinary easy-mac-type stuff. Always a lot of interest when a new place opens in a small town so it was busy at lunch on a Saturday afternoon but that’s no excuse for the wait. I never waited so long for a hotdog or sausage in my life. We saw a lot of people ordering their«Chicago» dogs, and they did look nice, but there is No. Way. a Chicagoan would endure that wait for a dog. None. I’m talking 15 – 20 minutes. So…food is decent and the service is slow. Here’s the real thing though… Why? You’ve got to admire anyone trying to make a go of it in a small town in a tough economy but anyone who has ever stood in a Wisconsin parking lot happily munching their sauerkraut brat knows that outdoors season is FUNDRAISING season. Right across the street at the Agri-center there was a little group selling their dogs and brats. At Wal-Mart the March of Dimes was selling their dogs and brats. Every single weekend, whereever you go there are Boy Scouts and 4H clubs and charities selling their brats. Now there’s a slick caboose right at the main intersection competing. I tried it this once but that’s it. Sorry…
