Yamato Japanese Steakhouse

this place is great!!! sushi was great!!! the service is awesome!!!

We went to this restaurant this past weekend, when we could not get into the usual Japanese Steakhouse that we go to. We called and they said there was no wait, so we decided to give it a try. For the 6 to 7 tables that they had seated, there were only 2 chefs and 1 waitress working — so although there may not have been a wait at the door — there was an hour and a half wait at the table before you even saw your soup/​salad.
The chefs that were working were not that great. Unorganized and clumsy and had NO concept of portions. Our chef gave the other family at our table (two of which were «sharing» a meal) HUGE vegetable portions, and then when it came to our family, I received 5 pieces. My son received none. The food that we did receive was okay. At the end of the meal, this restaurant does not serve cabbage or bean sprouts like the other Japanese Steak Houses.
Our bill was wrong and we were charged for several things we did not order, which took another 30 minutes to clear up by the time we got the waitresses attention.
Not the best experience. We will stick with Shogun or Sumo in the future.
