Willis Wayside Furniture Co

After a long flight home I got a special surprise from Willis Wayside Furniture in Virginia Beach. When I opened my front door, they rolled out a red carpet, gave me and my daughter flowers and then delivered my mattress. All of this just for a mattress for a 3 yr old! Amazing! More businesses could learn a lot from this furniture company!

Purchase a nice armoire from here about 3 years ago. Had a great experience. Great customer service. Good selection and quality furniture.

They always have amazing furniture. Many different styles. But it’s really pricy. Their furniture is for your life time. They had some clearance sale 15-​? % off, but I did not purchase anything this time. Their business is only in VAB. The staffs are really helpful. Oh, they have a rest spot at the center. Non sweet ice tea and hot coffee there. This store is really good for your eyes!

I have been trying to get there for weeks to purchase a new «Stressless» sofa. Every time I get there they are closed or about to close. It is very frustrating especially on a Saturday to close so early 5:30. I’m going to see if there is another Stressless dealer around. I’m sure they would have a lot more sales if they would stay open a couple more hours. I guess everyone has to be home for dinner.

LOVE this store. Have been shopping there since 1999. Have purchased rooms of furniture there and window treatments as well. The staff is ALWAYS professional and courteous and VERY knowledgeable. The staff has great ideas for designs and placement. I asked my salesperson to design my kitchen window valance, and I loved what she came up with. The designers will come out to your home free of charge to evaluate your needs and measure. Willis of course has delivery service as any furniture co. would. The customer service dept. is also great and very helpful. The store prides themselves on quality staff, products, customer service and location.

Closes early. Like 5−6pm. So plan ahead or shop on a weekend because it seems like every time I make it over here they are just about to close or I only have 30 – 45 minutes to browse and it is a big store with tons of items.
They sell some staple fine furniture pieces like Bassett Furniture/​Mirrored Furniture and Sommerset Bay items with color swatches and can order any color for you though it takes several weeks to arrive.
If I remember correctly they do not offer delivery which is a bit weird for a furniture place but it’s been over a year since I last inquired so perhaps that has changed… that’s pretty much a deal breaker for me.
Still, for smaller decorative accent pieces they have a ton, they also have a small selection of patio furniture in the entryway.
In the back of the store they have a large custom selection area where they have literally probably hundreds, maybe thousands of fabric and color swatches so you can completely customize your selections with a very nice coffee area for waiting customers.
I enjoy walking around but the salesmen are snobby and pushy each and every time I’ve come in. Sure sometimes they are pleasant but they find a way to get their digs in and say something either smart_​_​or snooty to me at least a few times during every visit. It’s mildly irritating but I figure it’s because I’m under 30 and they assume I can’t afford their prices, I can, but I typically don’t pour money into a place that talks down to their customers so I have yet to buy anything from here. I do enjoy looking in a nice furniture store for ideas though so I stop in here a few times a year for ideas.
I suppose I’m waiting to be treated with some respect but it hasn’t happened yet. Once I act irritated by their attitudes they usually act pleasant for the remainder of the interaction but now I pretty much just tell them to leave me alone so I can browse and I’ll let them know if I need anything.
The store is clean and well-​laid out, with a ton of selections. Just based on that they’d get 4 stars — but pre-​judging your customers and counting their money for them, not OK so I’m giving them 2 for a crappy attitude.
