I have not eating here in a while but the last time I did the food was terrible! I ordered a regular waffle, took it home and it tasted like strawberries?! Also I food a couple spaghetti strands in my meal and I was rather disgusted. Honestly I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area because the food didn’t impress me at all. I hope they have improved in the past year or so. Thank you for reading and have a great day.

I Came in over the weekend for breakfast with my husband. It was ok but honestly nothing special. MY husband had waffle and bacon combo with a side of biscuits and gravy. He his meal was good but I loved the biscuits and gravy. I had the pork chop combo which included eggs toast and hash browns. I wasn’t too pleased with my plate because my potatoes were cold when I got them but I’m not one of those people to send food back so I just ate the warm pieces. The staff were professional except for one who seemed like she was having a pretty bad morning. Idk maybe I came on a bad day.

I rated this one star based on service and food. Years previous I had eaten here and really liked it there waffles were amazing and from what I remember I couldn’t finish my plate because of the amount of food. This time was a whole different story. I was there with my friend and his mom and the waitress was a horrible mean old lady no manners what so ever, I had to stop myself a few times, trying to remember she’s my elder. But she should of gotten a few stern words from her managers. Then the food was horrible it didn’t taste good the onions were raw in my omelet the meant was barley cooked. Worse breakfast I’ve ever hard and it’s hard to mess up breakfast.

My husband and I were not very impressed with the food here. I got the California frittata and it wasn’t good. It was cooked like an omelette and scorched. It was also lacking in filling and had two slices of American cheese set on top, it looked about as good as it tasted, not great. The home fries weren’t bad. My husband got the chicken and waffles, I thought those tasted pretty good. The waffle was huge and flavorful, the gravy was bland. I would suggest if you go to waffle town stick with the waffles only.

Waffles here are fluffy and delicious! Good price. Staff are very kind. Décor is not the newest. This place is home to the elderly, which is not a bad thing. Haha. But still good for anyone to eat breakfast early in the morning.

Don’t stand in line at those«trendy» breakfast places… this place is a good old fashioned diner. Great food and great service! Reasonable prices just adds to the appeal! Had two eggs, toast, hash browns and sausage! Delish!

Ordered the sweet potato waffle combo, barley finished it, kept me full all day! It was super delicious, and everything was cooked to order. Coffee was ok, but all around a great place. Our waitress was really nice, she was really friendly and helped us with our order. More for early risers then night owls.

We eat here about once a week. The staff is always friendly, the food is always good. You can tell it has been here a while just from the décor, but I’m not complaining. They do have the best waffles ever!

Great for a casual breakfast. The prices are phenomenal. The food & coffee was excellent. The waitress made suggestions to get substitutions at the lowest price. She was so familiar with the menu. The sweet potato pancakes were awesome. Very toddler or children friendly. Good kids menu.

Great food, weirdly cool atmosphere. I can see how some people can say it looks a little run down, but it almost feels a little bit retro, so I guess everything comes back around. The food was really really great, everything from the waffles to the lunch menu items were great and price was pretty good. Will definitely be back.

I came here with my family on vacation and this place is nothing special. The prices are cheap so that’s a plus but it shows in my opinion. I got the chicken and waffle special and it was mediocre the chicken was tasty and crispy but the waffle seemed almost like its been sitting all day. My brother got a waffle with fruit on top and the fruit seemed as if it came out of a jar but his waffle was slightly better then mine. My parents got a side of grits and they were lukewarm and tasteless the only pro’s in my opinion are the prices and the service is very attentive.

This is the weirdest and oddly most satisfying place. From the outside the building scares the hell out of me. Why would I go inside you ask? I was running rescue with fellow emts and we were hungry. When I walked in I swear I was transported to the 60s. Wood paneling on the wall, Weird carpet, but you know what? GREAT service and EXCELLENTFOOD! The BEST waffle in all of HamptonRoads!

I’ve been local for about 8 years and finally ate at this place! I also found out that they close at 3:00pm which is why I’ve never seen it open for business. PROS: — Food is GREAT! On our first visit, they accidentally put pecans in our sweet potato waffle but it was the happiest mistake ever. Now, we always order pecans in our sweet potato waffle. — Food is inexpensive… slightly more than Waffle House. — Servers are friendly… the host even pulled out my chair and pushed it in for me! They also address ladies as «young lady» and«honey» which is very endearing to me. — I like their location! Wawa, Walgreens and Chix Beach are right across the street and there’s a book store, a Dollar General and a Dollar Tree right behind it. CONS: — Food can take forever to come! Last time we visited, it was pretty packed but we still waited close to 45 minutes for our food while watching larger parties(with children) get their orders way earlier. — The place looks very old which is not a bad thing but they could at least spring for new tables and chairs. — Parties of 2 never get booths; to be fair, seating a party of 2 at a 4-top table is losing money and they make up for this by not having their 2 top tables in odd/exposed places on the floor. — I don’t think they have hashbrowns on their menu… CONCLUSION: You MUST go and you MUST have a sweet potato waffle(don’t forget the pecans!).

I love this place! Their service and their food is friendly, comforting and«down-home» good! I recently had their waffle a la mode with ice cream and Reese’s crumbled on top! Needless to say… I ate every bite!

I love the days when the biggest decision you have to make in the morning is whether to order waffles or silver dollar pancakes. This is usually how most Saturdays go for me anyways… I just moved in the new hood of Throughgood and needed a new, go to breakfast place. Waffetown is affordable, tasty and you can always be seated immediately. I am a regular now and like my seat by the window which is Rebecca’s section. Rebecca is always friendly and has a smile on her face. Need some of whatever she is drinking… My usually breakfast is the waffle combo:(1) waffle,(2) eggs over medium with Texas Pete, &(2) Link Sausages. I have tried the same combo with silver dollar pancakes and the Chipped Beef is pretty good as well. Breakfast for two is usually around $ 18.00 excluding tip. Great value in my opinion. I would like to call Waffletown a nostalgic breakfast atmosphere. Dark wood paneling, mirrors, wood cane chairs, a huge mural of Shore Dr. and trucker hats. If you are here to complain about interiors you are missing the point. I can count a hand full of restaurants on Shore Dr. where your bill will be over $ 40 for breakfast and a wait of @ least 15 minutes. Good luck, may the odds ever be in your favor.

So fantastic. The staff is friendly and attentive. Came in for their chicken and waffles. By far the best I’ve had. The waffle is crispy, with two big tenders on top, smothered in sausage gravy and maple syrup. Insanely filling, I had to take half if it home. The restaurant looks dated, like a retro throwback. It’s cozy though.

My first time at this location — by default because our first choice was booked for Easter. Our service was great. Very attentive. However we didn’t know at the end you should bring up your own check to the cashier up front — so, we ended up doing that on our own. We all had a variety of things — French toast, omelet, biscuits and gravy and chocolate chip pancakes. It’s good in a pinch, but it’s the dive of breakfast places. Like Waffle House. Love it or don’t. I don’t particularly but it is what it is.

It’s been quite a while since I checked Waffletown USA out, but last week I had the urge for a waffle combo. The restaurant is a bit of a Chicks Beach landmark on the corner of Shore and Pleasure House. I have only been here for breakfast, so I cannot comment on lunch. The place has limited hours and closes at 3PM, so something to be mindful of. On this day I found the lot to be clean and no issues with debris. Upon entering I was greeted by the owner George who is always very friendly and surprisingly remembered my name after months absent. The place looked the same for the most part. The wooden chairs had been refinished it appears, but the drab carpeting still exist and is so worn you can see evidence of the black padding. The dining room was clean and no debris in sight on any of the unoccupied tables. What is not missing is the really cool huge wall mural of the area around the restaurant in Chicks Beach. When my kids were little the painting was one of their favorite things about visiting the small little breakfast/lunch joint. To say the dining room could use a facelift is an understatement. Service with drink was immediately taken care of by George and the waitress was quickly over to take my order. She also remembered me… again surprisingly since it has been over five months. I put in an order for my favorite waffle combo, eggs over easy and sausage patties. The coffee was hot, but quality so so. The place was not too busy mid morning, so I expected a pretty quick turn around on food. Prices are in line with what you would expect to pay. Within 10 minutes or so the food came out hot and tasted great. Service was quick and friendly and the waitress smiled the entire time. Refills of coffee were done at the appropriate time and a quick follow up to check if everything was okay was appreciated. I needed to used the restroom before exiting and found them clean, but extremely tiny, but updated. The overall best thing that Waffletown has going for it is the friendly wait staff and owner George. The food quality is on the average side, but I have always enjoyed the waffle combo on my visit over the years. Other items on the menu and lunch items I cannot comment on. This place has a great local following which keeps them going. A large presence of military can often be seen and is a big customer base of the restaurant. This may not be my go to breakfast place on a regular basis, but I have no problem with hitting them up now and again for a delicious waffle combo. Is it a dive, you bet and that gives it some CXB charm in my book.

This place is filthy. wouldnt recommend it. Didn’t even smell like food, unpleasant odor floors filthy my coffee cup was stained so bad it had to be 20 years old, and cash only is a joke everybody takes credit and debit cards these days modern technology this place is so stuck in the 50s it shows by the paneling on the wall I GIVETHISPLACETWOTHUMBSDOWN. I hope they see this review and take my advice and shut down and remodel this place and reopen I think their loyal customers deserve it!

This place is pretty divey looking both on the outside and the inside. I ended up having corned beef hash with eggs and a side of hash browns. The hash needed seasoning and the hash browns were really just home fries, not the shredded, crispy variety. Kind of a downer. They also needed a lot of salt and pepper and ketchup. I was hoping they had a breakfast bar but no such luck. I tend to prefer eating at a bar when I am by myself. Instead I had to sit at a four top solo. On a postive note, the prices are cheap and the service is quick. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.
