Came here for Memorial Day weekend for an all star football game. Pretty impressed. Large complex, even large parking area. Pretty seamless getting in. Lots of seating available. Looks like the grounds are well kept, the interior of the complex is kept quite clean. There are many fields available to have multiple events if needed. Concession stand, but also close to other food locals if tailgating is your thing. No issues, would definitely return.

Never had a bad experience here. I’ve been to basketball games, birthday parties, and the mud run here and never had any issues. Birthday parties were hit or miss as far as assistance from the staff. Some are great and some are obviously there just for a paycheck. The place is pretty easy to maneuver so finding help isn’t usually necessary. They also usually have signs to direct you to the events of the day and staff is helpful when needed.

I just came from running the Dirty Girl Mud Run here at the Sportsplex! Loved it! Had no idea the Sportsplex had all that land! The parking is AMAZING! I’ve gone to another mud run and the parking was despicable. It was so nice to leave the race and not have to wait for others to leave in order to be able to pull out. I’ve also been here before for a car meet and a lacrosse game. Both times the events were very safe, secure, protected(Virginia Beach’s Finest patrolled), and clean! I’m sure it’s other building has a lot more to offer as well!

We came for a kids party here. This is the second time and even it is a little out of the way. I live 19 miles away from here. It is always a fun time and the shopping afterwards at landstown or the nearby farmers market make it worth while. The place is big, lots of spaces and there are always lots of people. I heard one weekend there were thirty eight parties going on. The people working there are friendly. The cheese pizza better than a lot of places. Also tcc’s joint use library is not far either. I can see this area growing and getting the attention of a second town center sort of. With the population growth, this would be needed.

First trip here was for the Unilocal event Pley at the Plex. It has a very good central location to Landstown Commons off Princess Anne and appears well maintained. I could see attending sporting events here on the regular. I had a good time.

A wonderful complex for sports. The team sports facilities are the best in the area. The gym facilities are also very good.

I’ve been here for just about everything — runs/races, soccer games, field hockey games, etc., and I love its flexibility. It’s a little ways off the interstate, but not too far. Thankfully, the main road leading up to it is a 4 lane road, so there is little chance of a back-up, unless a major event is happening nearby. The soccer and field hockey fields are generally in good condition, except for when there is a multi-day tournament. However, I can’t think of a place that could possibly withstand that much abuse in such a short period of time. When it comes to the parking, that can be a pain. The worst is when there is a big race event or a tournament. Again, these are everyday occurrences, so it’s hard to think of a venue that can manage that kind of temporary volume increase. Generally, I think that the money spent to create this venue was a good investment and I don’t frown when I find that my next event is going to be hosted here.

I stopped by the Sportsplex, but more specifically the VA Beach US Field Hockey training Center that is on the campus. It was a nice facility– good outdoor bathrooms on the FH fields. If I could complain a little… it would be that since it’s HOT as S in VA Beach in July, the metal bleachers were terrible. Fortunately I’m a college coach and I was able to sit on the astro turf(great fields, btw) so that worked out. But when I was in the stands… OUCH!

This is a definite gem of VB that needs more attention. I’ve been there on two occasions now: the Color Me Rad 5k a few months ago and the Friday night mixer this evening. I’ve been a resident of VB for six years now and it wasn’t until recently that I knew this place existed. It’s a multi-sport stadium that hosts a bunch of athletic events: the UFL, high school football, field hockey, soccer games and various charitable and organizational events. Tonight I was able to run around on the field during a friendly football game. They have turf grass which always looks so beautiful. There is only seating throughout half the stadium(6,000 seats) but I was told that bleachers can be added when larger events come to the area. I think this place can hold up to 18,000 people. On the left side of the field is a large screen that gives off some high quality images and video. For mixers like tonight they air movies to keep the family entertained. On the right there is a picnic like area for eating, mixing and mingling. A hospital was recently built within a mile so that’s always a good sign of traffic(by that I mean more people and attention) coming to this part of Virginia Beach. In time I can see this place being a much larger venue for semi-professional sports. I’m looking forward to seeing the popularity of this place grow… especially since it’s within five miles of where I live!
