Versus Salon

Got a DevaCut from Deniece. Modern looking interior, the place was clean and sleek inside. Didn’t have to wait for my appointment time.
I must say the haircut was one of the most pleasant experiences I’ve had. Deniece was very sweet and explained everything that she would be doing. Because I’m getting married soon, I asked that not a lot of length be taken off and she catered to that very well. I could tell that she was very intent on giving me the kind of cut that I wanted mixed with her professional opinion of what she felt looked best for me! My hair is crazy curly and I need to have a hairdresser that has experience with curls, other wise I end up looking like Dora the Explorer.
This is one of the few places in Virginia Beach that I know of that offers Devacuts and I don’t have a complaint. I’ll be sure to come back for my next cut. Also, though they have an extensive line of products for all hair types, nobody tried to push any products on me which I really like. I hate the pressure of someone almost making me feel obligated to buy stuff the one time that I’m pampering myself, so rest assured, that won’t happen here!

Excellent salon but I was most impressed with my stylist, Briana. She has amazing talent and an eye for what is flattering on you. She knew exactly what I was describing and gave me the cut I was hoping for with others but didn’t get. I’ll definitely be back!

What a lovely salon, very clean and modern. Everyone is very professional and the owner is a sweetheart and very proud of all her employees and their work. From bright neon colors, natural hair, silky straight hair, dreads there is something for everyone here! Love the great vibes

It was my good fortune to find Anya who colors and cuts my hair. She is wonderful. Nice mannered and very thorough and meticulous in her work. I recommend her to anyone especially if they have hard to cover grey/​white hair.

I have been a client at Versus since 2009. While the size was small at the original location and the wait time lengthly, the ambience combined with the skill of the owner/​stylist made me repeat customer. Prior to my last visit I had one dissatisfying visit in which the shampoo girl failed to color my hair to my liking which occurred back in 2010. The situation was easily rectified by the owner redoing my color on the next visit and agreeing be the only person there to apply color to my hair. The shop relocated to a larger, more upscale location in late 2011 and the mood at the new location became less personable, almost sterile. On my last visit there back in October of this year, the owner had the shampoo girl apply my color while she ran an errand. By the time the owner returned, the shampoo girl was rinsing my hair and had gotten color and water on the back of my shirt. My yellow tank now had purple stains and was drenched! When I brought this to the owner’s attention she offered to take $ 10 off of my $ 80 tab. She went on to say «that isn’t an Abercrombie tank is it?» As the owner styled my hair and I sat there with a wet shirt, I asked how much her t-​shirts with the salon logo were. She stated $ 15. One would think she would offer me one at no cost so that I didn’t have to walk around in a wet shirt. NOPE, didn’t happen. While I love the color and it still looks great on my hair, I am extremely disappointed in the experience and will no longer patronize this salon. I have since spoken to the owner to obtain the type of color that she used in my hair, she stated that she mixes a few things and cannot recall the exact products used. She further stated that she would no longer allow the shampoo girls to color my hair. Not to worry, I will not be returning to Versus!
