This address is for sushi mama and is closed on Saturday. The day I decided to come. Need to update the address.

Volcano roll was amazing! For the dinner portion you get 10 rolls and now I know why, the first five you stuff in your face because the flavor is amazing. For the last couple ones you eat very slowly to enjoy all the yummy flavors and crunchy outside! My husband said it was better then his favorite place in Florida! And the price isn’t bad $ 20 for 20 rolls.

Excellent lunch prices. Friendly staff. Sushi was good not amazing, however the price is under the quality. I would eat here again.

We ate here for the first time two days ago for dinner. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we arrived. I’ve been to Kyushu twice(which is in the adjacent shopping center), and liked it a lot. However, I thought the sushi rolls were better at Sakura, and they had a bit larger selection. We only ordered rolls, and all(Super Philly, New York, and Friend) were really good and service was fast. Will definitely be back!

The super duper roll was amazing and only $ 5. We also had the sunset roll, the Newtown roll, and the Christmas tree roll. All of them were fantastic and the four rolls were plenty for two people.

Just had Sashimi lunch and first time here. Not impressed! Misco soup just ok but bowl half filled. Very small pieces of fish. Seemed not the freshest you can find in better Sushi Bars.

love finding hidden treasures when I go out to eat and this place is definitely one of them! The sushi is not only creative in presentation but also incredibly good! They also have a good selection food if sushi is not what floats your boat at the time. Service is excellent! They’re always so welcoming and happy that your there. One of my visits I was talking with my friends and trying to show off some new japanese linggo that I acquired since I was studying japanese at the time and the waitress heard me and was nice enough to encourage me to speak up in japanese and give tips a pointers and new words! Great place! Great Food! Great Service!

Been here about 3 times now and I don’t have any complaints. The staff is friendly and attentive. The sushi is reasonably priced and pretty darn good. Place is small but cozy.

So many sushi joints in town but this one keeps me coming back! Food is always fresh & beautifully presented. Ken & staff provide excellent, humble service in cozy & clean environment. All that plus generous servings & great prices! I highly recommend it!

Very affordable. I went during lunch hours and ordered the chicken katsu meal that was supposed to come with a California roll. Unfortunately they messed up and gave me a different chicken katsu lunch special that did not include the roll, but I wasn’t angry because I was full anyways. The meal was around $ 6.50 I believe and it was pretty big and included soup and salad. The salad was a bit mediocre but it was alright. The chicken katsu was very good. I was surprised that they gave me a large bowl of sauce because most places give out only very small bowls. I didn’t get sushi but I tried my friends and it was also a bit mediocre like the salad. While they have good lunch specials, I probably won’t go back here. I think Kyushu which is a few stores over is much better. We didn’t go there because they were closing for lunch a bit earlier than Sakura. All in all, this place is okay, no real complaints, it’s just that I’ve had better.

My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. This is the kind of local sushi bar that we like: warm, cozy and intimate. Small sushi bar, a few tables, not overly crowded. A place where you can get to know the sushi chef. The owners are VERY nice and willing to answer your questions about the menu, or anything else for that matter. I’m trying to learn Mandarin and the chef was kind enough to help me with that! They are very eager to make sure that you are happy with what you are getting. The menu is both standard Japanese fare, as well as a nice variety of sushi roll options. We will definitely be back for more!

Overall not too bad for sushi. I just don’t think it compares to Kyushu in terms of fish quality. They have become the standard by which I judge other sushi joints. The nigiri passed the drape test so the chef isn’t skimpy with the knife work. When I see each end of my piece of fish draped over the rice so it touches the plate on each side, I know I’m not getting gipped. So while you get your money’s worth in terms of portion size, I just wasn’t overwhelmed with the flavor. Maybe with it being a Saturday lunch the chef didn’t have his best stuff available. I don’t really know why but my taste buds just weren’t singing, although I found nothing offensive by any stretch.

Decent sushi. Slow night so the fish was not the freshest. Spicy super roll was awesome! Wait staff was excellent, but there were only three or four other tables the two hours we were there.

I honestly didn’t think I’d find good sushi in Virginia, but I was wrong. This place is legit! The inside is very simply and tastefully decorated. There was only 1 sushi chef working, but he was super efficient and was probably the happiest man I met during my stay in Virginia. We ordered a Sushi Regular, Shrimp Tempura Udon, and Tuna Sashimi. Portions were much larger than I expected. My sushi & the sashimi came with thick slabs of fish. The Udon came in a massive bowl with Shrimp Tempura as well as Broccoli, Pumpkin, and Onion Tempura!(The Onion Tempura was like the Japanese version of an onion ring. These kinds of things amuse me. I liked it a lot.) There was so much food on the table for only $ 30. I dig it.

This is by far one of my favorite places to eat sushi. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The service is superb, food is great, and the price is the best in town. You definitely get more bang for your buck here. The food is fresh, and the people are friendly. What more can you ask for? Oh yes, another sushi roll.
