A great community library that has CDs, DVDs, & books. A great place to kick back grab a book and flax. It had a mini computer lab. The staff are friendly and helpful. It even has a great selection of items to purchase as well, just remember for purchases it had to be cash or check.

Something has to be done about the talking on the cell phones. It’s getting ridiculous! They should have a HUGE sign that says NOCELLPHONES are to be used! I was on the computer and there was a lady there talking VERY loud on the phone and I put the headset on to drown her out and I could still hear her. She wasn’t even on the computer!!! The employees need to get on the ball on enforce some rules! I saw three employees walk by her and look at her but they didn’t say a word!!! What happened to the library being a QUIET place!!! I came here to do some work and all I could here is her going on about private matters!!! I think I may just have to start studying and doing work in my car since no one cares about being considerate or enforcing rules. Also, it would be great if the ladies restroom was periodically cleaned and sprayed down. It was horrible in there tonight. I’m giving this place 3 stars only because I like the location but I am looking for another location because the conditions here are not good!

Have had my three children volunteer there, it is a great place for community and has a decent collection of books and videos. Yes it is not the library of congress, but a friend, small community library with an outstanding staff

The library itself is a very nice and modern facility; however, it is ridiculously loud. I was always told as a child that the library is a quiet place, apparently the patrons of this library did not get the memo. I understand that children use it as a place to get books, etc. but I think the lack of control over the excessive noise is unacceptable(some of us actually need to get work done). They hold daily events that are located in the meeting room next to the study cubicles, and these events just add to the already excessive noise. I understand it is important to hold such events for young kids; however, I think the Rec Center(located next door to the library) would be a much more suitable venue for such events. This library might as well just be an extension of the Rec Center because it does not possess the necessary environment that is conducive to getting productive work accomplished. It is a shame that this is the case, because it really is a nice facility — just a complete lack of control of the overall environment, which serves to really give a less than satisfying experience.

The city public libraries have come a long way. I used to frequent Windsor Woods(a bit older) and Central(had just opened) back in Jr and High School. PA library is pretty decent with a nice bright interior and friendly librarian ladies. I signed up for a new library card because a book or two caught my eye. If you get a new card, you get a card and two smaller key ring cards — nice as I like to keep a slim money clip and forgo a fat wallet. The library has internet PCs and wireless. There is one self check out station that I used to check out my books. Fast and modern. Now if they only had a café serving coffee it’d be a perfect bibliophiles nirvana.

The Princess Anne Public Library is the newest Virginia Beach Library. It’s shiny and new and fits well within a neighborhood of middle class and well-to-do families. Looking around, there’s nothing special about the library – there’s a nice selection of books, a few reference materials and a small meeting room. The librarians were friendly and the clientele is suburban. No need to drive out of your way to visit this library, but if you’re in the neighborhood, it’s a nice place to hang out. Like all public libraries, it’s also a Safe Place where troubled kids can come for help and resources.
