This place is GREAT! As a local of the beach I highly recommend this place but at the same time I want to say stay away so it’s not to packed when I want to go. It’s true authentic cuisine and go back time after time and I’m never disappointed. If you love Cuban food you will love this place. Oh and get the cinnamon roll bread pudding with the scoop of ice cream. It’s to die for!

Great food. Good service. Nice people. Can’t go wrong. Been here plenty of times and never had a bad meal. Not even average. The only problem is that sometimes you have to wait for a table. But it’s worth the wait. Everything on their menu is amazing. Always look out for their specials, they are always a hit. Start with the traditional mojito and then try their specialties a try. You HAVE to go to this place if you’re in the area.

If my girlfriend would let me, I’d eat here everyday of our vacation! Definitely a gem in Virginia Beach. Amazing food. The best rum selections around(Zacapa — Google it; best rum in the world). All at a modest price. Also, please don’t leave this place without trying their dessert(warm cinnamon roll bread pudding)!

Why must I live 6 and a half hrs from this place? I’m so happy I Unilocaled this place while on vacation at Virginia Beach. Stopped in on a Friday night at around 9PM. The staff was friendly and seated me promptly. The food was AMAZING! I ordered the passion fruit mojito, ropa vieja, and for desert the fried banana. I’m drooling as I write this, HA! Totally worth a trip to VA Beach again, soon!

Food and drinks were very reasonably priced! Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful, was a little chilly inside though. Definitely will recommend and will be coming back!

We happened to go here for lunch last year because the Subway next to it had a line out the door. And this year we made sure to go back! From the amazing handmade mojitos to the delicious tostones appetizer, this place doesn’t disappoint. Some of the greatest Cuban food we’ve had. Service was attentive and very nice. They say everything tastes better at the beach, but I think that their food would taste just great anywhere!

Mojito’s is the hidden gem of Virginia beach. This place is amazing and the food prices are worth the money. Service and atmosphere are both excellent. Please don’t pass up this place!

Fun place for drinks and dinner. Good Mojitos. We had the skirt steak entrée and the pulled roast-both were delicious and came with tasty sides of black beans and rice. Desserts were the best items on the menu– Tres Leches and bread pudding! Both were homemade and totally worth the calories. It’s a small place and doesn’t look like much on the outside(in a building connected to a Subway shop) but don’t let the exterior keep you away from a great dinner.

Great place we found via Unilocal after pretty disappointing food for the first two days of out VA beach stay. We had Ropa Vieja, the skirt steak, empanadas, bread pudding and the shrimp dish. All were excellent and fresh! Servers were great about checking in to see if anything else was needed.

We were drawn to this place by its amazing reviews and they did not disappoint! The appetizer pork bites ontop of plantains were scrumptious and the shrimp and garlic and churrasco con chimichurri was probably the best I’ve ever had — a perfectly cooked meal. The service was friendly and attentive. We may have to go back again to try out things we wanted to order but didn’t have room for(conch fritters)!

I guess I’m just a cheap, easy date but I love this place. It’s no frills, small place that creates some unbelievable dishes and drinks. Stuffed plantains are a huge surprise because I don’t expect a slightly sweet, slightly spicy dish. I’ll write more after this meal but suffice to say, this is a great little dive.

Amazing pork. Absolutely amazing. We had the pork bites, served on plantains with different sauces(chimichurri, pineapple, bbq). We also had empenadas and those were flakey and delish. My Cubano was perfect, the pickles and swiss were in proportion. My acai fizzy mojito was divine. Our biggest critique was the monfongo. Thought it would be good because Unilocalers said so. It was so packed with garlic I couldn’t even eat half of it. And the garlic stayed with me for 12 hours despite gum. I’m hoping that was a fluke. I would definitely go back !!!

Popped in here for dinner tonight and was impressed with the food. I come to VB for work 3 – 4 times a year for work and this was one of the best meals I’ve had. Seriously good stuff. I had the garlic shrimp with rice and beans and asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection. Big time props to the chef. 9 shrimp! $ 16.95.

Place was walking distance from my hotel. One of the best decisions I made. Their service was great! The mojitos were very fresh made. I ordered the Churrasco de Chimicchuri(sp?) and it was to die for!!!

Located near the Virgina Beach Oceanfront, this place specializes in Latin Cuisine with a fusion of Puerto Rican and Cuban flavors. I stopped by here for lunch. Mojito Café is small and cozy and seats less than 30 people. The food here is fabulous. I had one of my favorite sandwiches — The Cubano and some Tostones. I enjoyed every bite! Their Mojitos are made from scratch with Don Q rum. I haven’t had a mojito this good since I was in Miami. My server Donna did an excellent job of taking care of everyone. Great place but get here early as it fills up quick.

I loved Mojito Café! It’s not very big, and filled up very quickly after my fiancé and I got there, but was definitely worth it. As you might guess, they have a variety of mojito flavors, all delicious and well-made. $ 7 is a steal, and only $ 5 during Happy Hour! My fiancé and I split the ropa vieja sandwich with fried plaintains on the side and it was amazing. Super tender and flavorful. The garlic sauce on the tostones should be slathered on everything. We also shared the BBQ guava salmon, one of the daily specials, and MMMMM! Perfectly seared, hot, and delicious. I even ate one of the green beans that it came with, and I don’t like green beans, but the way they prepared theirs wasn’t terrible(and I mean that most complimentarily, as I hate green beans normally). Desserts also looked yummy, though we didn’t try any that day. Definitely the best deal and best food in the VA Beach boardwalk area.

The food, staff, and atmosphere were great. Got to the restaurant a little bit after they opened. By 530 there were no open tables, I suggest getting there early. Our group started with the cracked olives appetizer. It looked to be chopped green olives with roasted peepers. It was simple but very delicious. I ordered the Latin fricassee with shrimp. They accidentally brought be the wrong meal. The waitress was quick to bring me what I ordered and also gave me a mojito on the house. The other members of my group got the chicken chimichurri and the camarones al ajillos. Everyone loved their food. I was very happy with everything at Mojito Café. Can’t wait to come back next year.

We enjoyed food here very much. It was probably the freshest food off the beaten path. It’s not close to the water by any means and appears from the exterior to be a dive. We were being adventurous and saw the many Unilocal reviews for how great the fresh food is. By the end, we ate here more than two times. Once for dinner which we ordered to go. There is a very long wait for this option, thankfully we called an hour in advance. The marinated beef had a very new taste. We also ordered the equivalent of peri chicken and their renditions on pulled pork. These two entrees although they were good, couldn’t match the deliciousness of the marinated beef. Twice for lunch, one day a shrimp entrée and mojitos, the next day grilled chicken wraps and empanadas. Will definitely recommend this place to friends.
