Mahi Mah’s

I ordered the crab lump salad and its a good thing I have plenty of groceries in my hotel room! It was the tiniest little salad with an even tinier portion of crab on it. Literally like 5 little penny sized «lumps» of crab. I ate it in about 5 minutes and I’m still starving. Also the dressing it came with literally just tastes like mayonnaise with red chili mixed in. Completely tasteless and just heat and no flavor. My husband ordered the seaweed salad and it’s a teeny little square appetizer plate with a squiggle of seaweed. Not nearly enough for a meal and not even a salad!

Everyday happy hour is definite plus. The wings are some of the best you can get at the oceanfront especially for 50 cents/​wing. Drink prices are decent and overall ambience is nice wth a view of the ocean.

Awesome place for sushi while sitting outside enjoying the ocean breeze and beautiful weather!

We went to Mahi Mah’s after a long day vacationing. We had been there before about 2 years ago so we knew what to expect.
We were seated outside facing the boardwalk, enjoying both the weather and the free local music on the 7^th Street Stage at the boardwalk. So a win on atmosphere.
The menu is seafood/​sushi centric and we took advantage. The calamari appetizer was excellent and much better than the calamari we had had at another local establishment 2 nights prior.
My daughter had fish and chips, my son had fried shrimp while my wife and I shared some rolls from the sushi menu. Some of the rolls were served slightly different from what we were used to (e.g. we expect spicy tuna rolls to be served «inside out» and these weren’t) but that isn’t a huge deal. All in all we found the food to be very good.
The one knock I have is that the outdoor seating is jammed in close. Must be hard to be a server with so little room to spare. But our server, Sam, did a fine job tending to our needs.

Great place! Good food. And close proximity to live music tops it off! Recommended! Specially liked their fish n chips and bronzed mahi mahi. Only disappointment was that the fresh fish of the day was not there. But still, worth a visit.

I ate here last night and I had the clams. The sauce was a bit salty for my taste but very flavorful. I also had the soft shell crab for the first time and they were really good.

This is my second time here and will probably the last time. Went with my friends who were first-​timers and they weren’t impressed neither and would be their last visit as well.
The service was great. Our waitress was very patient considering we took a bit longer deciding what to get. My husband ordered the bronzed mahi, which people rave about on here… It was mediocre. Nothing too special. Not something I would want to come back here for. I got the tuna tacos and they were horrible! The blackened tuna was overly salted/​seasoned. Too overpowering to the point that they weren’t enjoyable. My friend ordered the same thing and hers were too salty as well. The cream sauce on my tacos were different than the sauce my friend’s tacos had, and tasted different, which I found a bit odd considering we ordered the same thing. Not impressed at all, infact, it was the worst fish taco I’ve ever had. The flavor wasn’t good. Even the fries that came with them didn’t taste good. Had too much old bay seasoning on them.
My daughter had ma ma mia, which was linguini with marinara and meatballs. Bland. The orange crushes were okay. Waterman’s still better. The first round of orange crush tasted like straight up orange squeezed, barely any liquor. The second one was better. The calamari was decent. Over all, did not surpass my expectations. Won’t be back again.

Ordered take out and it was perfect. Flavorful well made food. Fish wasn’t dry. Coming from MD, their crab cake sandwich was very tasty. Nice waitstaff. We will return!

Everything was great experience wise, great waiter, but I ordered the Surf and Turf burger, and I was extremely dissapointed, they use a frozen patty for a hamburger.
I was wondering why the waiter didn’t ask me what temperature I would like my burger cooked…
I didn’t find out until I bit into the well done charcoal…
The crab cake was really good that they put on top of it!

After checking in to the adjoining hotel, attended this gem for happy hour. Great menu, great service and great view.
Only issue was that the clams came out cold.
The staff checked in consistently, and answered all the questions us out of town people had.
I’d go back again.

Great location, service, ambience but mediocre food. I left needing to chug water since the food mostly came out salty and definitely was not the freshest.
We just went for my grandma’s birthday so they gave us a large table in another room which was nice. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful.
Most of the food looked better than it tasted.

Appetizers: calamari and crab dip were pretty tasty and filling. The crab dip is creamy and very flavorful.
Entrée: scallops with risotto was a good sized portion and delicious

She crab soup — came out very salty, ewww
Swordfish– my dad ordered this. It looked good on the plate but tasted very fishy when you took a bite, indicating the fish was far from fresh
Fries — salty, seemed old
Overall, I give it 3 stars — it’s good for groups and being close to the beach. For quality food though, I recommend you go elsewhere!

Let’s be honest for a second. This is not your high-​end seafood restaurant but if you are looking for some good food with a vibrant atmosphere then this place is for you.
I love the fact that they have valet. It’s hard enough finding parking so this is a major plus. It is more «bary» (yes I made that up) than a restaurant. However it all depends on where you sit. They have the typically table seating to the right and then the sushi and bar area is to your left. (It was too cold when we went so we did not sit outside.)
We had a party of 4 and we were sat right away. We all ordered Orange Crushes (which I think are the best in the city) while we reviewed the menu. They have a few options from their sister restaurants on the menu and a pretty wide selection of seafood with a full sushi menu as well.
I got the Bang Bang Shrimp and this is a must have for most anyone! It is literally the right blend of heat without being too hot. I got the burger with a side of collards. Y’all! After living in Charleston, SC for the past 9.5 years I have to admit these were some dang good collards! You have to get them and try them out. The burger was good but nothing to write much on.
Overall I would say this is probably one of my favorite places oceanfront. The staff is friendly, great mix of people, and with it being right on the beach it has a great view. Highly recommend going there; even if it’s just for the bang bang shrimp and orange crushes.

We missed Happy Hour, so I didn’t get my fill of fresh oysters, tonight. Next time we’ll get there earlier. It was Monday, though, so I took advantage of the half price sushi rolls. They also had my second favorite stout on tap, to wash down the sushi. As usual, the service rocked, as did the food.

Sam Brown is an awesome waiter! Very helpful and accommodating :) I ordered the crab cake Benedict, and it was on point! Lots of crab, great beach ambiance

Mahi Mah’s has a great location right on the board walk with a wonderful view of the ocean.
We had lunch here and the waiter informed us that they just introduced a new menu. And, what we ordered off the new menu was delicious.
I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon served with Oyster mushrooms and sticky rice. The salmon was very tasty. There was also a broth that the rice and food sat in which made the rice and salmon taste really delicious. The oyster mushrooms were ok, in my opinion. They just were not my taste, but my boyfriend found them delicious and picked them off my plate.
He ordered the broiled crab stuffed flounder, which he found very delicious as well.
The service was great, our waiter was friendly and we enjoyed our wonderful lunch while taking in a great view of the Ocean. Nice place.

Whether or not you stay at the Ramada, I can definitely recommend Mahi Mahs for a decent meal and fantastic service. The views overlook the ocean and the restaurant has been a staple in the oceanfront scene for a long time. They offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, HH, live music, the works. This place is always on point. I’ve never had a bad meal here and I’ve always loved the atmosphere.
Expect glossy dark woods, impeccably dressed and very knowledgeable waitstaff (shout out to Shawn here), lots of fresh seafood, perfectly mixed drinks (try the Old Fashioned — that one needs to make a serious comeback), and that quirky combination of cloth napkins and Radiohead playing softly in the background that you can only get at the beach. There are televisions for sports fans and a long bar. It is a little bit of everything really… and at night… during the high season, expect a party.
PS I highly recommend the raw oysters and the crab cakes.

Good service. I came here for Restaurant Week. I wasn’t sold on the she crab soup. I found it to be too salty. Usually I lick my bowl clean, but this time I had plenty leftover. For my entrée, the catfish and mashed potatoes were delicious. The catfish was fried to perfection! I enjoyed that dish. I didn’t touch my dessert, so I can’t comment on it.
It’s a great spot, and I appreciate the free valet parking. Just be sure to tell valet that you’re there for the restaurant and they’ll give you a ticket. Don’t forget to get the ticket validated by your server.

This is one of the places I frequent a lot during the summer, they used to have a great special for wings, clams and oysters but unfortunately that’s gone away for the weekend, so that makes me sad. I haven’t been back as much since then, but when I did order the clams, the sauce it came in was delicious, I would soak up the rest with bread. The wings have a nice sauce to them and crunchiness and the oysters tasted so fresh. We started coming here before Calypso’s since the food is better quality. In the summer, there’s loads of attractive people who sit outside and enjoy the live bands.
The crushes aren’t bad either, I ordered one with Calamari and a Wedge Salad which was light enough for the day.

Stumbled upon Mahi mahs by accident, we were looking for somewhere to dine (with outside seating) on a Saturday nite and all the popular restaurants/​bars on the oceanfront had way too long of a wait (about 45−1hr to be seated) except this place, the wait was only 15 min.
The outside seating came with a view of the boardwalk and the ocean which was awesome. The service was ok, the sushi very mediocre and good Moscato.

I literally love everything.
They have these amazing baked oysters called the Rockefeller oysters. That’s a MUST.
Another favorite appetizer of mine is the Creole Crab Dip. Huge chunks of crab in the creamiest blend with variety of warm rolls.
They also have great sushi here. I recommend the tsunami and volcano rolls! They have very friendly sushi chefs too (Frank and Justin)!
They have an outdoor seating area that’s front row to the live music.
Happy hour is awesome here as well. 3 – 5 everyday they offer 50 cent raw or steamed oysters, 3 dollar orange crushes, cheap wing deal, and more!!!
This is a very relaxing environment. If you want to have fun you can sit by the bar or outside. Or a little quieter section inside.
I’ve been here at least 5 times since I moved here two months ago. Ill be back!
