Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting

We were in a strange town with a vehicle we had just purchased and couldn’t get the hood to close when we were ready to leave the hotel and drive 1200 miles home. Called this business and they gave us directions to drive there and immediately fixed the problem and didn’t even charge us! Peter Uzdavinis, the owner is a kind and fine gentleman. Anybody could have taken advantage of us and charged us anything as we couldn’t drive the vehicle as it was.!!

It took 11 days to paint my Tahoe. I was told it would take 4. No body work, no door jam paint, just a regular paint job. «Well we’ve been busy, its been a crazy couple of weeks.» I was also told that insurance work gets pushed to the head of the line. I was paying out of pocket.
The hood has about 20 lines running up it almost like each pass wasn’t blended with the last. The passenger mirror was taped terribly, and that’s a pretty obvious spot. The area around the passenger door handle has to be fixed as well. I was told they couldn’t do anything about the problems for 2 weeks.
But the best part is that I was told I couldn’t pick it up on the 10^th day because it was in ‘detailing’. I don’t know what they did, but the only thing I noticed was tire shine spray squirted haphazardly on the tires. Probably 5 big blotches each. It looked awful. When I asked about it I was told, «Well the wind was blowing.» I came home and scrubbed it off because the wind was still blowing and I needed to leave the store before I lost it.
I expected low quality because Maaco has a reputation, but I was still disappointed.
