Great place. Amazing food. Our server, Rachel, was great. We will be back. The fried corn on cob is a must. Plus, we saved 10% showing our Aquarium membership card.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had the fried Flounder dinner with the Key West cole slaw and Mac N’ Cheese. The cole slaw is very good with a vinegar & citrus lime type dressing. The flounder and Mac N’ Cheese were equally good but I noticed that the flounder portion seems smaller than I have had from the Lucky Oyster before. Based on other photos here on Unilocal,it looks like I was short changed on the amount of Mac N’ Cheese. For those reasons I give it a 4 star rating.

We went to eat here at the recommendation of a local friend and we were not disappointed. Not sure why this place isn’t rated higher. I did read the reviews before I went and do not agree with any of the negative reviews. 4 of us ate dinner here and had an amazing experience. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was what anyone would expect from a seafood sports bar. I had the Outer Banks seafood platter and it was very good, my wife’s broiled crab cakes were the best she had ever had. My father in law had the Wasabi tuna and the tuna was cooked perfectly, and my mother in law thoroughly enjoyed the broiled shrimp and vegetable plate. The mile high carrot cake was phenomenal. I would recommend anyone and everyone to try this place. We are here on vacation from Missouri and wish we would have known about this place sooner. This was, the 3rd seafood place we have been to in Virginia Beach and the first one to actually have good seafood. No wonder they have been voted best seafood in Virginia Beach every year since 2010!!!

Love this place! Have been here multiple times! The atmosphere and décor is awesome! Lots of fishing and nautical décor. The waitstaff has always been on point! They are fast and super friendly. And then the food! Oh it’s all so good! The steamed seafood, prime rib, and the Mac n cheese! You have to get the Mac n cheese! I’ve tried a lot more but those are definitely my favorites. They also have a bar area for a fun night out, the dining area is family friendly, and even a small banquet room.

Definitely going to be back. This place is a gem. I had a craving for oysters and the had a deal for $.60 oysters. Which I thought was unbelievable out here in Virginia Beach. I ordered about 2 ½ dozen oysters and 10 chicken wings and was very satisfied. The waitress was courteous and the food came out pretty quickly. I’ll be a regular here. And it’s true about oysters being an aphrodisiac cause me and my girl where boning like rabbits afterwards!

Stopped in on a Sunday evening by myself. Pleasantly surprised to see it not very busy as I was just hoping to have a chill place to study. I sat in Jordan’s section and she was awesome. I ordered a dozen oysters(I’m in an oyster bar– it would be a crime not to) and the Fish Tacos with flounder. Both were delicious and presented very well. The tacos came with a baked potato and it was just the right amount of food. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish it because of all the oysters. Overall a great experience. Thanks! I’ll be back.

Lucky Oyster is a very well known and popular restaurant in the Strawbridge area; the restaurant is always packed with vehicles throughout the day. We finally came here because we had heard that it was a family friendly location. Though only my husband and I decide to visit on our first occasion… We were sat in the very middle of the restaurant; that’s ok but I do prefer booth seating. I was a bit taken back by the pricing as it was pretty expensive for only the two of us for an entrees each with waters. I ordered the fish tacos which were good, but not as flavorful as I would have expected. We might go back and try this location again.

Lunch time. Walked in and country music is playing softly, +1. Started off with a Mojito and Orange Crush over crushed ice. +2. ½ dozen oysters out of Maine and She-crab soup. +3. Buford T. Justice: You want something? Junior: Hush puppies, daddy. Buford T. Justice: We don’t got time for that crap! Dumb sumbitch! Hush puppies were next…_Meh. Fried shrimp were fresh, butterflied, lightly breaded +4. Crab cake was better than average. Victoria was our server and was friendly and knowledgeable, +5

I’ve visited Lucky Oyster twice for oyster happy hour(60 cents ea), which is only offered in the bar area. The décor is beach and fishing themed, and the bar has multiple TVs for your sport– and commercial-viewing pleasure. I experienced menu-overload during my first visit so take your time to look over everything. Service is great and extremely prompt. As I was slurping up tray after tray of oysters on the half shell, I’d place orders for more and they’d come out in an timely manner. The oysters were a decent size, but not as plump as I’d expect for November and December. Also on happy hour are the clams and wings and I’ve had the pleasure of trying both. For the wings, I’d recommend trying the sweet chili Thai and the garlic teriyaki sauces. Both sauces have a nice balance of sweet and salty, without leading to you your beverage. If you’re feeling like ordering off of the bar menu, the hot crab dip is a decent starter. It was a little on the salty side but I attribute that to the pretzel bread, otherwise it was perfectly creamy and served piping hot. I didn’t really taste any large chunks of lump crabmeat but it had nice flavor to it. Lucky is worth trying if you’re craving oysters and refuse to drive to Oceanfront. I recommend going on a weekend, when oyster happy hour is basically all day.

Loved the Lobster Mahi Mahi. Expertly cooked with seasonings and a grilled finish, served over rice and topped with a lobster sauce. I think there were scallops and crab in the lobster sauce, giving a nice bonus to the already delicious meal. I chose the Caesar salad, so the side salad option remains a mystery worth exploring. I was avoiding the many fried options on the menu — like the seafood platter. I think there are too many of those, but that is what lots of people like in a seafood restaurant, so if that is your thing they have plenty of it for you. Even so, there are enough non-fried options to come back for!

Lucky Oyster is a a nice neighborhood type of Restuarant. The waitress we had was super nice, she came over and asked had we been here before and when we said no she offered to go thru the menu with us. She went thru every section and offered to answer questions all with a smile on her face. Her going thru the menu actually changed my mind on what I wanted and helped me decide. We ordered the combo of crab cake and fried shrimp. You can get the crab cake cooked however you want(grilled, broiled or fried). The combo comes with a salad and a side as does most items on the menu. Oh, if you want a baked potatoes you will have to come in after 4pm as they don’t start selling them until then. It came out in a timely fashion and all looked tasty. I ordered fries and they were the crispy ones which aren’t my fave but still good. Oh and hush puppies are an appetizer item, not with your food. The food came out with 3 sauces, cocktail, tartar and what they call Lucky sauce. The lucky sauce was good, I used it on my shrimp and crab cake. All in all, I’m full(I ate all my food) and happy with this Restuarant. Didn’t have room for dessert.

Went in Sept with friends and was very happy with service and the oysters. Went back again for bar food and beers in October and loved it still. Love the oysters, fresh tasting and not overly cooked. Friendly staff and clean.

(Review in a Boston accent) Ok I have nevah had a meal here but have come here for watching football games for years. I almost hate doing this review because the place is getting crowded. Significant to the review is that I am a New England Patriots fan, as such enjoy watching a great football game. Ok let’s start with the good, decent selection of beehs including some local brews. Our choice is Sam Adams winter whatevah they call it. If I go local smahtmouth(said with Baston accent). They have several TV screens around the U shaped bar, it does get crowded on a Sunday. Now for why being a Patriots fan is significant. For the 1:00pm game you have to get there by 1200 to get a seat. I have suggested seating IAW your teams record at the time, your team stinks(ya hearing me lions or jets fans) you sit in the back. Conversely your team is doing ok. Sit in a crappy seat(steelers, Redskins fans). You are a Patriots fan, the mass of people should paht and let us sit whereevah we want. Additionally you should compliment our team and Tom Brady(spahe me the deflated jokes, heard em all) Now for the great, the chicken wings are sublime. Yes I used the word sublime. Cowboy up(not the team but the profession) and ordah the 911. Tasty and hot, great wings on pah with Lendy’s Café or Scotty Quicks. For watching a game with great Beeh and wings five stahs. At a seafood joint no less.

One of my favorite seafood spots in Hampton Roads. Not only is the seafood made to perfection the customer service definitely sticks out from the rest. My glass never got to half full and she always made sure everyone at the party was completely satisfied. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Went here for happy hour with some work friends for their Tuesday night seafood specials. We all ordered a variety of seafood and everything was good but not great. The small platter though was large in size so I feel like you get a good value. I also added a wedge salad to my meal and I know a wedge salad is pretty basic but I just wasn’t wowed. The best part was probably my molten lava chocolate cake a la mode. The restaurant was fairly packed for a Tuesday evening but I’ll attribute that to their ½ off prices on their raw bar menu. I’d probably come back for the special but I definitely wouldn’t for any other occasions.

The food, ambiance, bar, and overall experience here was awesome for me. It gets really busy so I would be cautious of that. They have a really big menu for food and drinks which is great. Tons of seating here and the décor/ambiance is awesome! Nautical theme taken to a whole other level here. Service that i have experienced has been really good. Will definitely be returning!

Popped in at lunch time, mostly because they’re on my credit card rewards program(Yay! United miles). A bit of queue for the hostess so I bypassed the line and took a seat at the bar. Sports channels going with talking heads. I was immediately asked for my drink order and by the time she had that ready, I ordered the grouper tacos. About five minutes later, two medium sized tacos arrived with a small bowl of(spicy!) rice and beans. The tacos had a good flavor with enough salsa and cabbage on there and a small pot of avocado cream to spread on. Maybe more fish would have helped. Overall, an A-OK lunch. Not awesome but not bad. A nice place.

This place has been around for quite a while. I’ve also been here quite a few times, both for brunch and for dinner. When you come in, this place definitely has a beach theme. The tables have different depth graphs of the local waters, as well as some that are outside the area. The theme is great and fits with it being here in Virginia Beach. On my latest visit, I came in on Thursday, as they have a fried shrimp dinner special for $ 10.99. The hush puppies are really good here too. I like the fact that they don’t come out greasy. For the main course, the shrimp were great and cooked perfectly. I had their macaroni and cheese as the side, which is something everyone should try if they get the chance. On the service side, service was on point and didn’t have any issues. If you’re along General Booth Blvd. and looking for a seafood place, look no further than here.
