Stopped here during an awful storm and had a lovely hot meal. The restaurant was very clean and cute. I had the fried chicken special with green beans and mashed potatoes, which was nice. Overall, the food wasn’t really anything write home about, but it was good. It was a nice stop to wait out the storm and the waitress was great!

The place was clean and presentable. There was a TV playing the local news quietly. The waitstaff was nice attentive and considerate. The specials were appealing. Most lunch menu and special items range from $ 7 to $ 12. I ordered the fish tacos with broccoli salad and she crab soup. I was pleased with all three… no buts. I would recommend this place to friends.

Looks like regular old slaw doesn’t it? Trust me, this is the best slaw I’ve ever had! I almost passed on it because I’m VERY peculiar about my slaw but she sold me when she told me it was made on sight. And it was omg delicious! The BBQ was good too and you can get some really good deals!

Creeds Café is a small place and it is possible that you will drive right past it without ever knowing it was there. Due to its size, there is no wait which is a plus. The she crab soup and steak are delicious. However, the fries could use some work. They also serve ice cream which can be very refreshing on a hot Virginia day.

I am new to Virginia Beach and staying down the road at North Landing Beach and this place looked inviting. I saw they had a patio and since I had my dog with me, they allowed me to have him sit with me! The she crab soup was homemade and out of control. It was amazing! I had the fish tacos that were on the special, very tasty! The coffee was good and the service was super friendly. This place is going to be my new favorite spot! Breakfast is only served on weekends so if you go on a weekday, come for lunch.

Little mom and pop café on the way to Knotts Island. I always try to support small non-brand name local businesses, so I thought I’d give it a try. Got there about 10 am on a Sunday. It wasn’t to crowded so I was seated right away. All the servers were very friendly. I had the Shrimp and Grits and the Two Eggs with Sausage breakfast. The shrimps and grits were mediocre. The shrimp tasted like it was precooked and just microwaved before being added to the grits. The overall dish was pretty flavorless and I needed a lot of hot sauce to get through it. The egg and sausage breakfast was also mediocre. I ordered the eggs over easy, but one of the eggs was broken and basically fried hard. The meal came with«home fries», which were basically greasy undercooked and overlooked potatoes. The only reason I gave 3 stars was because of how friendly the servers were.

We recently ended up out in this area for an event for my youngest son and on the way to the event we passed this café. We decided to stop in on the way back home for an early lunch, despite the mixed reviews and against my gut instinct. Probably should have listened to my gut. Anyway, we walk in and are greeted and seated right away. We ordered drinks and an appetizer of hush puppies. The hush puppies come out fairly quickly and looked good enough. We each take our first bite and they are raw in the middle. Not a good start. She did send them back and bring new ones that weren’t raw and they were decent. For meals, my oldest son ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. The burger was not bad. The«bacon» part was a little skimpy as they only took a single full piece of bacon, broke it into two pieces, and put it on the burger(pic to follow). The fries, though, were very good. Crispy and seasoned perfectly. My wife ordered a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. The chicken fried steak was a pre-made thing like you can buy at Sam’s and it was was very greasy. She pushed down on the top of it with her fork and the grease was quite gross actually. I know it’s «fried» but that much grease isn’t good and overwhelmed the flavor that might have been there. The mashed potatoes were from a box and the okra was undercooked. Her meal was quite a disappointment. I had grilled pork chops, mac & cheese, and broccoli casserole. The pork chops were average. Nothing outstanding but good enough. The mac and cheese was awful. To use my wife’s phrase«That mac and cheese is a disgrace to mac and cheese». We didn’t like it at all. The broccoli casserole was pretty good though. Finally, we ordered a baklava for dessert and it was very disappointing. Not at all flaky, way too much syrup overtaking the phyllo dough. If you knew how much I love baklava, you’d know how much this ruined the end of the meal. Darn. The service was good enough. Our server was nice and took care of us. Can’t complain much. So, overall, this is probably a very soft 2.5 rating but not enough to round up to a 3. Meh is more accurate. I think this place has potential as the prices and menu are good. Lots of home cooking type dishes. They just weren’t done very well on the whole. I suppose they have a good group of regulars to keep them going but we won’t be back for sure.

I stopped here on my way to Knott’s Island. It’s in a pretty good location right at a bend in the road. Outside are some rocking chairs, but it was cold outside so no one was there. I can imagine that they get used pretty often in the summer. The waitstaff was good. They weren’t as quick as you would expect since there were only 3 other tables occupied the entire time I was there. They could have just been giving me some space in which case that was ok and it was nice that they weren’t rushing me. The food was so so. I had the mushroom swiss burger with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The burger was a little bit on the bland side and nothing special. It did look hand-shaped which gives this restaurant some brownie points. I also had the she-crab soup. It looked and smelled delicious. It tasted… so so. I’ve never had she-crab soup before so I have nothing to compare it to, but it looked and tasted creamy. It wasn’t. It was a little too watery and there was hardly any she-crab bits in it. I’ll have to try the soup at a different place to be able to update this properly. Overall, I think this was an ok stop, but nothing special. I’d stop by again for convience and just to see if other things on the menu is any better.

The soft shell crab sandwich was served on your basic bun. It fell apart towards the end, but it was fresh and tasty. I would recommend that they serve it on french bread just like a poboy, cause that’s how it’s done in the South.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to say that Creeds café is under New management. The food is great and the prices are right. So all those that have tried Creeds Café in the past please give them another Chance. Country food in a nice little country café. Some of their Daily Specials, can range from Chicken n Dumplings, Ham and Cabbage, Prime Rib, and slow cooked country pork chops and gravy. And several other great choices.

Terrible! Took a little country ride out to Pungo with family and stopped by Creeds Café for a bite to eat. Upon entering the café we found a number of employees sitting on rocking chairs at the front entrance talking & smoking– should’ve took that as a sign & left immediately. When we entered there was a few tables on the inside with people sitting at them. Wasn’t overly busy but we stood there for a few minutes before a confused older man asked if he could help us. There is a large deck with tables outside so we opted to sit there as the weather was perfect for outdoor dining. We sat for at least 15mins and were rising to leave when a server came out on to the deck. She seemed somewhat displeased & took our drink order. After returning with drinks she took our order and disappeared. After about 30 mins another lady came out to find our drinks long empty, she apologized, brought out refills and said our order should be right up. After another 30 mins our food finally came out and was definitely was not worth the wait. I had ordered a meatloaf sandwich, which came to me tasteless, small & dried out. Nobody at the table was stoked with the food that was presented to them. We had waited so long for the food thinking that after the disappointing service and the long wait that the food would be Creeds Café saving grace. We left Creeds Café each disappointed & swearing we would never return. Bad experience all round.

My wife and I went here because it was on the way back from the Knott’s Island Ferry. I’m glad we stopped. One, I had forgotten that this was a classmate from culinary school’s restaurant, and two the food was great! We both started with the Hatteras clam chowder, which we had never had before — but it hit the spot. Very good, and light for as hot as it was. For our entrees, I had the grilled meatloaf sandwich which was melt in your mouth good, and my wife had the grilled chicken BLT which was also very good. The fried Okra was perfect! For desert we both had the banana pudding which was as good as my wife’s father makes. Their tagline is perfect — «Southern Comfort Food Destination». It hit the spot, and the atmosphere is family like. Since I know the owner, she sat with us and chatted about how the business was going and while we were waiting on our desert, she took us on a tour of the kitchen, and the rest of her property. She’s doing pretty well, and it’s definitely going to be a stop on a future motorcycle ride!
