I was told by some family members who know my taste that I would not like this place… They were not wrong. Even not liking it, I would have given it 2 – 3 stars if the service had been decent. The food was atrocious; people who love too much fennel would love it, but to me, it was intolerable. I got a burger, and there was even fennel all through the burger. I didn’t even manage to choke the whole thing down. Fennel is such an overwhelming flavor, and if you are a person who doesn’t care much for it, it can ruin everything. The service was almost non-existent. We were there for my daughter’s birthday. I say almost because when the server came by, she was friendly. Key word: «When.» She barely came by, even though we saw her standing less than 20 feet away chatting with her co-workers for most of our meal. We didn’t get drink refills, and we didn’t even get asked how our food was or if we needed anything else. The décor was cute. I had never been in to one of these franchises, and I probably won’t ever go back. My brother, who was with us at dinner, has been to CIP numerous times in Hawaii and the food and experiences were both good, so maybe it is just this location.

I just love the ambience of this place. I love the tropical setting along with the friendly service. It’s a great place to go to watch the game, eat wings, drink and have a good time. Touché Cheeseburger In Paradise, I double salute you!

This restaurant has its pros and cons. I went on a Wednesday night if you want an idea on how crowded they were. I’ll do my best to list them here: PRO’S: 1.) Beautiful, fun, «tropical» environment! Very colorful and«fun» to be in. 2.) REALLY delicious drinks and a nice bar! 3.) Drinks & Food are presented nicely — they even put tiny little sun glasses on their pretty drinks! 4.) Good drink variety CON’S: 1.) Service at this location is terrible. We had 1 hour before our movie started at the Lynnhaven theatre across the street(seems like a reasonable amount of time for 2 people to eat a meal, right?). When we went, it took them over 10 minutes to greet us and take our drink orders. Finally, she took the drink order. Then it took her another 5 minutes to come back and take our order. It took 35MINUTES for our food to come out(2PLAINBURGERS&FRIES), which were brought out by a food runner. Nobody came even ONCE to ask if we needed anything or provide refills until we had long been waiting on the check and stressing out about making our movie! I had to get up and ask the bartender for someone to bring our check. We were very late for our movie. Not a good place if you’re in a rush. Oh, and we had also ordered an appetizer of wings which never came and we had to ask for this to be removed from check while in our rush. 2.) Food was not the best. This was my second time and the same thing happened before. After waiting forever, we sadly received 2 very dry burgers that weren’t well put together & hardly had any of the things it came with. When the food runner brought it, I thought they’d brought the wrong burger, but the girl told me they were OUT of half the condiments on the burger. Server didn’t bother to mention and I would have chosen something different. 3.) Lack of menu selection. You’re a bit limited in your food options here. There are many many other places around with much better variety.

So i have never been here except for the last 2x in the past month and i’m impressed. The first time visiting it was for a quick lunch when they had the Jimmy Buffet tailgate party going on. it was super loud in there and not gonna lie our waitress was annoying. kept saying we aren’t ready and she kept standing there waiting. Buzz off please. Anyways i got the bacon cheeseburger and it was great. Drinks were good too when we went late last night. WIll be back

Burger fans: I had the Moonshine burger(½ lb). Burger is big, cooked perfectly to-order, fresh and tasty. So are the toppings, AND the bun is house-made, fresh, and TOASTED(on the burger side) and un-toasted on the hands side. Which means the bread is soft on the outside but a little crispy on the inside and doesn’t get soggy from the burger. Perfect. Wing fans: Honey BBQ and Kung Pao flavors are tasty. Fresh, juicy wings that are pretty big(1lb order was 6 wings). Not as crispy as some might like, but thankfully they are juicy without being greasy. Yum. Service fans: Takeout order took 10min longer than expected, said they were waiting on fries. I had time to kill so no problem, plus that means fresh hot fries, right? Wrong. Fries were stale and cold. They had nice seasoning and probably would have tasted great if they were fresh, –1 star for that, but the cashier was nice and apologetic about my wait. Overall the food I had is worth a try. And they have happy hour and other daily specials that seemed worthwhile. Definitely my favorite burger in VA Beach right now. The inside of the restaurant seemed kid-friendly, for those that care.

The Burger Place! I’ve been to Cheeseburger in Paradise a few times already, once with a big party and a few times with some friends and family. Don’t really recommend in coming with a big party, bc it takes a long time to get the food out at once. One burger would be colder than the other. I’ve tried the sampler for an appetizer, which wasn’t too bad. It actually filled me up before I even got my burger, it comes with wings, sliders and pickle chips(it’s a lot). I have tried two different types of burgers(not really a burger fan) which were the Good Egg Burger and the Aloha Burger. The Aloha Burger is sweet and tangy, it’s smuthered with teriyaki sauce and topped with cheddar cheese, grilled onions and pineapple sauce. My ultimate favorite that I get each time I come back is the Good Egg Burger, which includes bacon, American cheese and mayonnaise topped with an over-easy fried egg which melts in your mouth as you bite into it. Gah, love this burger because it’s like having breakfast in a burger lol. I also like how you’re able to exchange your side of fries with something else such as sweet potato fries, for a few more cents. There is a wide variety of options on their drink menu, from sodas and alcoholic drinks. They have the soda machine that has different flavors for each type of soda, you choose your flavor you would like to mix with your soda such as vanilla coke or cherry sprite. My favorite alcoholic drink I would say is their famous piña colada, so creamy and just the right amount of alcohol. For dessert, a must try is the chocolate nachos which combines sweet and salty all in one. It contains chocolate and flour chips, topped with chocolate syrup and strawberries. It is served with strawberry and vanilla ice cream on the side of the chips to eat along with it. If you think that’s too much to handle, there is also the Lava Cake which is a warm chocolate cake filled with flowing melted chocolate, topped with chocolate syrup, whipped cream and diced fresh strawberries and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side too. This restaurant is definitely my favorite burger joints in VB! Pro: Best Burgers and dessert! Con: Slow service!

Did not enjoy the burgers. Too thick for my liking made me want to throw up… the waiter acted very high and the fries were cold. The servers were very friendly though.

I purchased a restaurant certificate from to use at Cheeseburger in Paradise her is Virginia Beach. When I tried to use this toward my meal they told me this was an error. They offered no discounts or maybe free food for this problem. I have been using coupons for years and have not been turned down from a restaurant that has an current offer on the site. Food was decent but pricey. $ 42.00 for an appetizer, chicken tenders and a burger. Jimmy, your song did not come to life at this location as promised!

Unfortunately the service is really sub par. It takes forever to get a drink. We have several gatherings here, due to the proximity to work, but everyone complains about the service. The salads are good and the happy hour menu has some good deals.

Pretty darn good burgers. Nice happy hour especially on Monday… burger and beer specials. Our bartender was great the Sunday evening we stopped by. Okay drink menu. Needs a remodel but overall we enjoyed our experience.

Went here with a large group of 16, and the staff was very accommodating. They had the table ready for us right on time. The staff was very friendly and kept our drinks full throughout the meal. The food also arrived quite quickly considering the size of our group and all of the orders were right. The food itself was okay, but we were not that impressed by it. They were pretty skimpy on the sauces– the guacamole burger had just a tiny taste of guacamole and the cheeseburger in paradise had just a tiny amount of bbq sauce so the pork seemed pretty dry. Also, the sides of cole slaw were so tiny they came in the same size container as the condiments. Fried pickles were quite tasty. They let us bring our own cake in, and they kept it in their walk in refrigerator for us while we ate. Then, they brought it out with candles in it and a knife for us to cut and serve the cake. Overall, service was on point and food was okay.

I’ve been to this location a few times usually due to a birthday or big group family party. Our last visit was due to our cousin graduating high school and a huge section was reserved for us. My salad was awesome. I had a salad with shrimp, mango, greens — delicious — sorry I can’t remember the name of it. Some of the apps got confusing. Extra apps came out(and instead of just comping it on a tab they said they had to take it back since it wouldn’t be paid for… since it’s wasted regardless, why not let people eat it?) — then we had another fried pickle app come out that was also unsolicited but the server didn’t notice and it wasn’t put on a tab… it was somewhat confusing. Maybe with so many people they just couldn’t keep up.(For the 2nd one, my cousin thought I ordered it and vice versa… so we didn’t realize until the end that no one did but no one was charged either…) Service was ok considering the amount of folks there. Salad was yummy. Apps were good. Will be back.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. Looks good. Nice and clean. Wait staff is nice so I assume the back-of-the house staff is too. The price is fair. «Frickles»(fried pickles) are good, but not great. Butter chip cut. Got an all-American burger for my entrée with fries. Pretty good. I got the beef cooked medium, that’s how I like my meat. The portion size was good. Overall I had a good experience. It was nothing special but the food wasn’t bad. I may or may not come back, only time will tell.

Cheeseburger in Paradise. Sometimes it is paradise, and other times, well, not so much. I’ve come back a few times recently with better experiences than I had at the beginning of 2014. About a month ago was the first time I came back in over a year. This was due to a coupon I received in my e-mail for a buy one burger, get one free. I received another one last week, which is why I was in again then. Let’s start with the beginning in 2014. I had come in during the winter in 2014. It wasn’t overly busy, but I wasn’t surprised as there isn’t a lot of activity that time of year, and it was a chilly day. So, I had ordered what I would normally get when I had been there, which was the guacamole bacon burger medium well. The burger was more like medium rare. It was sent back to the kitchen and re-made. On the re-make, it was cooked correctly. However, the burger actually turned me off because there was a lot of red dripping out of the burger. Ultimately, the dog got to have a good meal that night at home. The manager that was there that night apologized profusely and comped my meal that night. It was this experience as to why it was over a year before returning here. If I was rating solely based on this visit, it would have been one star. Fast forward to the current time. The few times I have come in within the past month or so were much better than in 2014. On both visits recently, I had the usual guacamole bacon burger. Both times the burger was cooked correctly(one time it was with chicken and the other was with beef). As always, the fries they have are good. The only complaint sometimes about the fries is that they are easily over-salted. I think it would be better to have the fries come out unsalted and then you can portion control the amount of salt, if any, that actually goes into the fries. Overall, on these last few visits, and considering my overall experience over the years with this place, I would give it an overall three stars. There just isn’t enough extras for me to give a rating higher than that. If you’re nearby looking for an inexpensive burger, this is not a bad place to come. The place has definitely improved and worth trying out.

This location of CIP did a great job during a recent visit. Right away, I felt all warm and fuzzy because they had the Stanley Cup Playoffs on several TVs. This is huge because as I’ve written many times: If I cannot trust you to show real sports on TV, I cannot trust you to build my dinner. What really did it for me though was the Aloha burger. Instead of throwing all the trimmings on(layer of onion, layer of pineapple, etc.) making for a sloppy burger, CIP actually diced up all the toppings into a nice little salad on top and it was phenomenal. Any time I can leave dinner NOT dropping with teriyaki sauce, I’m happy. Good job.

What an awesome burger!!! I got the moonshiner burger with a side of that zesty sweet horseradish sauce and it was so good. It had bourbon glaze, thick cut bacon, delicious bleu cheese crumbles and sweet caramelized onions. The French fries were super good too! They have a coca cola free style machine so you can have any drink you can think of. I love the cherry sprite zero. That’s my jam. Margaritas are yummy and they have 1.99 $ ones too :) Great place for a great burger and our server Amber was the sweetest. Only downside(for me anyways) was my burger was just so greasy. It was dripping with grease.

We always pass by this place because it’s located near lynnhaven mall. The interior is beachy so that was nice and I’m sure during the summer time it is appreciated. The waitress was nice and very helpful since it was my first eating there. The menu offered burgers, sandwiches, and tacos. The burgers were delicious and prepared just the way you like it. The drink menu is pretty large so I plan on coming back to try the other ones. Great burger joint and service we’ll be back!

Stopped in at 9:30 on Sunday(they close at 10:00) and the place was nearly dead with the TV’s all tuned in to the Sunday Night Football game and the volume turned up high. I had no problem being seated at a comfortable table(other than the loud football game) with a good view of the TV’s. I opted for the bacon cheddar burger, medium rare. It was probably closer to rare with a red center, but oddly, that was only on half of it. The first half seemed just fine. Weird. Fries were cooked right, but too salty. A-OK. This chain where burgers meet sit down causal landed somewhere between«I’ve had better» and«I’m a fan.»
